There is anyway to decrypt the FTP passwords stored on Netbeans (from PHP projects) on folder called "keyring", assuming that I have informations from my windows account ???
I had lost password of one of my ftp sites.
I tried to connect with Wireshark sniffing TCP connections.
and i managed to get back the lost password.
[WRONG ! See below] No, passwords are not "encrypted" but "hashed", which is a single-way operation.
EDIT: This answer is shamefully wrong, and sits here like this since 3 years. I am deeply sorry, I don't even know why I answered something so stupid.
An easy way to get back this password would be try to connect to a server using it and dumping it using Wireshark sniffing the TCP connection.

i still got the Problem, that my Java Interpreter can't handle SSL Handshake from a FTPS Client Connection. So I want to try out another FTPS Class that cann store a File on a FTP Server.
Do you know any other Examples/Classes than the Commons.Net one ?
Thank you, Louis
So I have this Linux Virtual Machine Server at Strato and after they recently did an update I haven't been able to connect via FileZilla but get the Error
"500 OOPS: prctl PR_SET_SECCOMP failed"
I can still:
-connect via putty
-edit files
-access all pages, login, connect to the database etc
I can't:
-connect via FileZilla
What I tried
-restarted Server
-reset to a backup
-googled the error message (couldn't find anything understandable)
-contacted strato (after 20min in waiting queue "yeah, your ssh port is open, restart again, we can only check if your ssh port is open" - helpful as ever)
I have no idea what this message means or what I could do to fix it so any explanation would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Juliette
I have presently the same problem. Obviously, they (Strato) have changed something with their virtualization kernels. Update at Strato happened for my V-server on the 21st of Oct.
If you use vsftp then you can circumvent the FTP access problem by setting the parameter
seccomp_sandbox=NO
in your /etc/vsftp.conf.
But this is of course no permanent solution - as it reduces security.
Just a minute ago I was in contact with Strato. The guys at the helpdesk do not know whats going on. But they promised me an answer by mail.

I don't have my own web server. Is it possible to write a bot that will fill out a webpage form without a server? If not, can I use my localhost to do it? What are my [free] options?
It is indeed possible, you can just run the bot using your own machine as a server, as long as it has an internet connection. The only catch with this is that you'll obviously have to keep your machine on and connected to keep the bot running.
I'm not exactly sure what your trying to do, but you can use XAMPP to host a local server on your computer.
I need your help on correctly setup pg_hba.conf for 2 specific postgres servers on different networks. The first server is on local network and the second is on a Cloud server.
Since I will have to setup syncronization between them, I must make sure that both can communicate.
The 'listen_address' is already setup to '*', on postgresql.conf.
My question is, if I add:
host all all 0.0.0.0/0 trust
...to the pg_hba.conf file on both servers will they communicate free of errors?
Perhaps this is not the best way to do it, but since this is for testing purposes perhaps solves my problem for now. Any better and safest solution please?
Thank you all
Regards
Paulo Matos
Since you do not have a static IP for the system connecting to the database, then you should use some method other than "trust". You can use md5, and put the password into a .pgpass file on the client.
You could put the client's host name, rather than IP address, in the 4th field. But that requires a reverse DNS to work correctly (I don't know if dyndns.org supports that) and I've found it overly fiddly and unreliable.
You probably also want to use SSL ("hostssl"). Using md5 will kind of protect your password, but an eavesdropper can still see all the queries you send and all the responses to them.
SQL Server Reporting Service URL asking for credentials but not responding after that.
It is asking for credentials for exactly 3 times even if I am entering correct password all the time and than after it does not ask and even not showing anything on the browser page. Both the below URLs are behaving same. My report services and server has been configured on port 80.
http://ssphdev.xxx.com/Reports
http://ssphdev.xxx.com/ReportServer
I am using SQL Server 2008 R2.
Any suggestions will be helpful. I have reports to retrieve from the server. And also want to test further on the same server.
Thanks in advance.
I found the solution to this problem...
I changed URL to hostname to localhost and it worked
I guess the problem was that I have two virtual with the same name (obviously only one is ON at a time) and connected with same domain. I think somehow when I use hostname on URL it is trying to connect another dev machine which is off. And localhost worked.
This is my guess! If you are having such issues please try 'localhost' and see it solves..!!
Cheers!!
If keeps prompting for credentials even after setting as below
authentication mode="Windows"
identity impersonate="True"
Replace below code from "Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.xxxxxxx\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config
with
Just remove RSWindowsNegotiate tag from the tag AuthenticationTypes
