I have added a FB Like button through the standard method to a page. It works in all browsers except in IE7 where it gets shrunk down in width. Is there any fix for this. I have searched extensively, but all solutions don't work. You can see an example here:
http://www.swirl-test.net/test.html
You can view the source code of the page to see the implementation method.
The problem with fixing this on your end comes from the fact that the like button is a iframe pointed at Facebook's server, so you have no control over it's content and style (apart from the controls that Facebook exposes)

I am coding a simple app in Xcode and I have ran into a problem. I can not get links to work on the mobile app that go to other links. For example, if I click on the Twitter button at the bottom of the webpage nothing happens, I want that button to lead to the desired link it was supposed to go to. Also, the words in a page on the site are lined up in a vertical column, and I would like to know how to make the text look better in terms on formatting it correctly. Seems like you're adding your WKWebView the right way and the page is loading fine. The problem with the text is actually coming from the CSS of the site as I have the problem in Safari on my phone as well, so if you are the web admin of the site I'd fix it there.
Did you try if the button you are talking about is responsive when accessing through Safari on your phone/simulator? WKWebView does not have a loading bar and it seems "unresponsive" sometimes even though the sites are loading in the back.
When adding your WebView implementation buttons like the privacy policy on the site work fine for me.
I have an irritating bug with the Facebook like button. When my page is loading, my share buttons (Facebook like, Tweet, +1 buttons) will start on the left side. Then they will appear in the middle of the page. And finally when the loading is finished, they will appear in the correct position on the left side again.
The shifting of the share buttons all over the page is kind of annoying and looks unprofessional, even though they end up at the correct position on the left side when the page is done loading.
I believe this is related to the Facebook like button. I have tested this in IE and Chrome in Windows. I have also tested this in Safari on IPhone. All browsers seem to have the same problem.
You can see the bug here:

Is there any way to fix this?
I figured it out. Looks like width=450 was causing the problem. I removed width=450 and the Like button now stays on the left side of the page and does not jump around anymore. Maybe there is a deeper reason why width=450 causes problems for my page but at least it works now.
I have generated facebook like code for the site Geoflake from this facebook url
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/
When i click like in the "facebook test page", the count disappears.
Any one having same problem ?
While this isn't a strict answer, I can agree that there is a problem. What is the 'facebook test page.'
When I click on the 'like' button on the URL provided the usual 'share' prompt appears and quickly disappears. How did you generate the code? And, I know this is usually kind of offensive, but did you read through all of the instructions? From the end of that page
"When I click the Like button, the popup window (or "flyout") doesn't show. Why?
If the Like button is placed near the edge of an HTML element with the overflow property set to hidden, the flyout may be clipped or completely hidden when the button is clicked. This can be remedied by setting setting the overflow property to a value other than hidden, such as visible, scroll, or auto."
It looks like you are missing the quotes around the href attribute:
<fb:like href=http://geoflake.com/DLZ4d0b7a8 send="true" layout="button_count" width="50" show_faces="false"></fb:like>
Try fixing that first.
(Also, it seems like your site is redirecting to the mobile site on Safari -- at least on my Mac. Perhaps you are testing for generic Webkit instead of mobile webkit?)
I had two js scrips that are in my web page , one is with my app_id and another without app_id. I have removed one which doesn't have the app_id and it worked.
I am trying to add facebook 'like' buttons and tweet buttons at the end of each blog post on my tumblr blog. I used the 'minimalist' theme on tumblr. Ive tried just about every method to insert the html properly and nothing has worked. Below it the current full HTML that I am using. If you go to my site right now there is a facebook button and it actually works but there is a ton of blank space underneath that I cant get rid of. Also, it works in Safari but not Firefox which is odd. The fbook code is right before {/block:posts}. I've been able to look at other formats of buttons but they either like my entire page rather than individual posts or I have this same spacing/firefox issue. Can anyone help?

I cant even get that. I've done this task a few times before with other themes and it is no problem at all. It sounds like you didn't uncheck the boxes on Facebook that enable the big black space go back to f.b. and get a new code made from the link page. Do not forget to uncheck the unneeded stuff or that will also be embedded in the code given you.
I am trying to apply css to facebook like button. I know that it is violating TOS to change how the like button look. All I am trying to do is change the background of facebook like button to make it consistence with my website.
I googled about it and found several articles that I can style facebook like button if I am using fbml because fbml does not use iframe. The problem is, it looks like facebook is using iframe for fbml as well.
as far as I know, I can't directly style a webpage that is included in an iframe.
Is there an api for styling (in my case, changing background only!!) the like button?
You can use dark or light theme.
You can not do anything to an iframe of whom's src attribute is not your domain.
The only thing I can think of is an ugly hack using absolute positioning, opacity and z-index, but I don't think it is worth mentioning.
how about over riding the image with another? i know its not the best practice, but u can't change the Facebook branded "Like" button
