I tried to uninstall Subversive within my Eclipse IDE as I updated Subversive yesterday after an Eclipse update was installed that only updated Subversive.
The update whacked all my function keys within Eclipse and therefore the reason to try and uninstall it. Apparently I've done something wrong and it did not uninstall it completely. Here is the info I'm reading when trying to uninstall:
Subversive SVN Team Provider" cannot be fully uninstalled because other installed software requires it. The parts that are not required will be uninstalled.
I still click the uninstall button but it never uninstalls.
I've lost connection to the repository and I've been Googling for a way to reinstall Subversive but cannot find anything to accomplish that.
Any suggestions/direction would be greatly appreciated.

I just downloaded a fresh Eclipse JEE Neon.1a Release (4.6.1) on my Windows 10 machine.
I went to the marketplace to get the latest Subversive SVN Team Provider 4.0.2.
Trying to install results in the Message: The following solutions are not available: SVN Team Provider 4.0.2.
I chose to continue anyways, and it seemed to work.
After the restart, i chose the SVNKit 1.8.14 Subversive SVN Connector and installed without any issues.
Now I was able to do basic SVN operations, all seemed fine.
Except to share a new project. I created a new Project called "test" and tried to share as a new project.
That results in the Message:
Share project was failed.
Can't overwrite cause with org.tmatesoft.svn.core.SVNException: svn: E160013: URL 'http://sol:3380/svn/repo/test' non-existent in that revision.
I tried to share a new project to another SVN Server, same error message.
I repeated the whole process on different machines, same message.
I Installed SVN Team Provider directly from the Update Site instead of the Marketplace. Same Issue.
I went to the SVNKit website to try older Versions of SVNKit and installed via the archived Update Sites, but they wont even show up in the SVN Connector Chooser in Eclipse.
I really dont know what to do anymore, can anyone help me to get it work?
I hope this solution will help you as it helped me. I think your problem is related to an unmatched client/server version. Neon subversive version is 4 and related svn connector is 1.8. But you probably need an svn connector 1.7 as it was in my case. Try the next steps and let me know if it works. Otherwise let me know the point in which you get in trouble.
go to help > installation details > filter by "svn" > uninstall everything related to subversive, subclipse and svn connectors
restart eclipse
to to help > install new software > work with > use the previous major subversive version from this URL: http://download.eclipse.org/technology/subversive/3.0/update-site/
install at least the plug-in and the integrations
restart eclipse
it will probably not ask you for a connector to be installed because you have already installed one previously, so go to window > preferences > team > svn > svn connector tab > get connectors > 1.7! (you can install all of them, the important thing is the one you choose in the combo box, it must be 1.7)
try the svn check-out process again

Bug was fixed yesterday. So just update.
I uninstalled the SVNKit 1.8.14, and it worked for me.
I want to install perforce plugin for eclipse 4.2 juno. On the site it states I need perforce v4.2. I have installed it, I can see the PV4 install - when going Help>about eclipse.
I can not see the perforce tab. Can not see the perspective view for it. When trying to import can not see anything perforce related. I have not used perfoce before, not sure what I am doing wrong. Any ideas?. (i tried to install perfoce v4.2,v3.7,v4.3,v4.4 . Reinstalled eclipse from 4.22 to 4.2 same issue.

I had this problem after installing the latest eclipse and installing subclipse from the marketplace. To resolve you can follow these steps:
Click Help >> Install New Software...
Set Work with: Subclipse 1.10.x Update Site - http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.10.x
Ensure Hide items that are already installed is checked.
Click Select All.
Click Next.
Complete the remainder of the installation as usual.
For ubuntu 12.04 amd64
sudo apt-get install libsvn-java
add this to eclipse.ini after -vmargs:
-vmargs
-Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni:/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/jni

What JavaHL provider have you installed? It sounds like you need 64 bit JavaHL support. Have you tried SlikSVN?
I solved this with easiest way:
sudo apt-get install libsvn-java
sudo cp /usr/lib/jni/* /usr/lib
Faced the same problem after installed subclipse 1.8 from eclipse marketplace and resolved thru following steps:
1. Install subversion client (required)
2. Install Subversion JavaHL Native Library Adapter (required)
And it works now.

I don't know about JavaHL but to make the SVNKit appear on the list of SVN interfaces, you need to install the "SVN Client Adapter" and the "SVNKit Adapter" as well.
You can find those on the update site of Subclipse (*http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.8.x*).
I have a similar problem with Subclipse 1.8. Due to licenses limitations, SVN client aren't bundled with SVN any more. So I find the message "Unable to load default SVN Client".
My solutions is to install SVN client. It can't be easier. Go to Eclispe Marketplace, type Subclipse and click to install Subclipse again, select all options. When restarting Eclipse, it will prompt us to install an SVN client, choose SVNKit or JavaHL (I choose JavaHL). After restarting one more time, it all works.
In fedora 16 on x64 i meet also, i solved by downloading subversion 1.7 from here and installing:
yum install subversion-javahl-1.7.1-1.fc16.x86_64.rpm subversion-libs-1.7.1-1.fc16.x86_64.rpm subversion-1.7.1-1.fc16.x86_64.rpm
Install SVN on Eclipse Juno using the update site at http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.8.x
Go to Help -> Install new software, then Add update site.
Zend Studio 9 if you upgrade/update to 9.0.3 you will get this error as well. You need to uninstall all subEclipse and JavaHL stuff then follow the install procedures again and restart Zend studio.

If you are using the Subversive plugin (which is newer than the Subclipse one, and the two are easily confused with one another), you might run into problems finding the library even after configuring the library path in eclipse.ini. To fix the entire problem, you might need to add this setting to the file as well:
-Dsubversion.native.library=C:/SlikSVN_JavaHL/libsvnjavahl-1.dll

I had same problem with Spring STS 3.5.1 and Sub eclipse version 1.6. Upgraded to version 1.10 of subeclipse and everything is working fine.
The above problem arises with custom eclipse installation and due to updated version of subclipse.
You have to install the older version of subclipse manually.
For this i have done as following:
Under Help menu click "Install New Software..."
Select "http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.6.x" from the drop down menu
If URL of any other advanced version of are available change it to look as above.
Check the options selected are sensible e.g. "Hide items that are already installed"
Click "Select All"
Click Next/Finish through to completion.
After finishing the installation,under windows menu go to preferences,click on Team and on SVN.
Now change the client from Java HL to SVN pure kit.
That's it.

Trying to install Subversive and am choking on the concept of Subversive Connectors, and how to install them.
(1) What are Subversive Connectors? My only guess is that they help tie the Subversive plug-in to the local instance of svn. Yes? No?!?!
(2) I found an article explaining the difference between JavaHL and SVN Kit connectors (although it didn't explain what either of them were, or what they did!), and it looks like I want SVN Kit 1.3.2 for a number of reasons. But when I try to install them from the Subversive Connector Discovery dialog, it gives me an error, tells me to check an ambiguous "error log" (Eclipse error log, SVN error log, Subversive error log, ?!?!) and refuses to install it. I came across an article stating that this was a defect from a December 2009 release, but that it had been fixed. What is going on here? I am using Helios on 64-bit Ubuntu, anybody else ever have this problem? Any suggestions for how to fix or circumvent?
(3) It looks like the Subversive Connector Discovery dialog is configured to launch the first time you try to open Subversive from inside Eclipse (after installing and restarting). But since I wasn't able to install SVNKit 1.3.2, I canceled that dialog, closed Eclipse and walked away for a day. Now, I can't seem to get it to launch, and it has next to no online documentation that is helping me. Anybody know how to launch this dialog second and subsequent times?
Thanks to anyone who can provide even the tiniest of help. I will wash the gutters, mow the lawn and perform a full spring cleanup for anyone who can answer these!!!
Usually this works out pretty well, you install Subversive, and if you havn't installed a Connector, you get the dialog when Subversive needs it.
What's going on is a sad bug in the latest Eclipse/Subversive version.
Here's what worked for me.
Uninstall anything subversive related that you've installed.(Help->About Installation Details)
Go to http://www.eclipse.org/subversive/downloads.php#early_access . Download the zip file, currently this one.
Install that file you downloaded (Help->Install New Software , hit the Add button, chose Archive).
A restart later, you'll be asked for an SVN connector, choose SVNKit with the biggest version number, you should be good to go.

In regards to part 3. You can install the connectors directly from Polarion's update site. From what I understand, this is what the Subversive Connector Discovery does under the covers. The links to their update site are found here and look something like http://community.polarion.com/projects/subversive/download/eclipse/4.0/luna-site/. In Eclipse, click Help->Install New Software and paste the link into the "Work With" box. That should give you the list of connectors you can install.
even though there was no error when installing Subclipse in Eclipse. I won't see the SVN perspective at all?
I have tried with "Eclipse Classic 3.5.1" and with "Eclipse for PHP Developers".
After downloading and unzipping the packages I used Eclipse's "Install Software" mechanism to install Subclipse 1.6.x. I followed the steps described here: http://www3.math.tu-berlin.de/jreality/mediawiki/index.php/Subclipse_installation_in_eclipse_galileo.
But after Eclipse re-starts I don't get any SVN Repository perspective? I have tried to un-install/re-install all the software components many times now. Finally after 3 hours of trying I am giving up. Does anyone have any hint what I am missing?

I had the same problem. I use Windows 7 64 bits OS. I clean read-only flag of eclipse folder in C:\Program Files (x86) and give full access right to all users on my PC. I reinstalled it from update site and it works.

EDIT For anyone keeping track of this, it looks like Eclipse Helios SR1 may have fixed the issue. I haven't tested it myself yet, but by the sounds of the discussion at https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=322929 it should now be working.
I just had this same issue with Ubuntu. It turned out to be permissions. Once I gave write permissions to everywhere in my eclipse installation and then reinstalled subclipse, its views and so forth appeared, just like magic.
I don't know what you are looking for. But after installing the Subclipse plugin, you should have a new entry in the File | New | Project dialog. Something along the lines of "Checkout project from SVN"
Then when you hit continue, you can enter your SVN repository details, check the branch you are interested in, etc. After checking out a project, you can right click on it and go to the "Team" submenu to get the features provided by Subclipse like check in code, diff, merge, etc.
I ran into the exact same problem too. I installed both Subclipse and GWT/GAE plugins and couldn't find any evidence of them after installation.
I'm on Windows 7 and had installed Eclipse 3.5 SR2 into C:\Program Files (x86)\eclipse-3.5. I also put my workspace in C:\Program Files (x86)\eclipse-3.5\workspace. When I was checking things I noticed there was a lock icon on the C:\Program Files (x86)\eclipse-3.5\workspace.
I reinstalled Eclipse to C:\dev\eclipse and the workspace to C:\dev\eclipse\workspace. After that the installation of the plugins went without a hitch and I could see the SVN Repository Exploring perspective (no idea why some of the other posters claim this perspective doesn't exist). I suspect it was some sort of permissions problem on the directories.
Another way to check and see if the whole thing was installed correctly is to go to the SVN Repositories view. Go to Window -> Show View -> Other, and then search for SVN. If you see a bunch of SVN views like "Repositories," Subclipse is installed.
I had this problem due to some kind of incompatibility between Subclipse and Android ADT plugins. One answer suggested yoxos which gives you all your eclipse plugins from one central repository.
Had the same problem. I work on Linux, and when I installed eclipse in /usr/local/eclipse, Subclipse did not show up. The solution was to install Eclipse locally, e.g. in /home/user/eclipse. Now Subclipse (and other plugins too) worked!
Edit: guess it could be the same on Windows.
I think this is due to some incompatibilities between the packages of subclipse and the gwt 2.x plugin and android... as this started happen to me after I upgrade to v 2.0 of gwt back in the day.
The same issue repeats both on Mac and Windows... and it seems no fix has been released.
Now the only way I've found to move on with my work is to remove subclipse and install the latest subversive plugin instead.
