But that required Module::Build , Now what if i have existing Perl Application which does NOT have the Module::Build instrumentation, is there a way to get test coverage for unit or functional tests ?

But this seems to indicate Code Coverage while running the application.
I want to be able to get a Clover or Cobertura Compatible output, so i can integrate it with email-ext in Jenkins
Task::Jenkins may be of some help. It has instructions about how to publish the Devel::Cover HTML reports through Jenkins, as well as info about adapting other Perl tools to Jenkins.
Jira has some instructions about integrating Devel::Cover into Jenkins.
To get code coverage for any Perl process (test, application, server, whatever) you set the PERL5OPT environment variable to -MDevel::Cover which is like putting use Devel::Cover in the program. If your command to execute tests is perl something_test then you'd run PERL5OPT=-MDevel::Cover perl something_test.
If you're using prove, use HARNESS_PERL_SWITCHES=-MDevel::Cover prove <normal prove arguments>. This tells prove to load Devel::Cover when running the tests, but avoids gathering coverage for prove itself.

I'm using Test::More to test my application. I have a single script, run_tests.pl, that runs all the tests. Now I want to split this into run_tests_component_A.pl and B, and run both test suites from run_tests.pl. What is the proper way of doing this, does Test::More have any helpful methods?
I'm not using any build system.
Instead of running the creating a run_tests.pl to run the test suite, the standard practice is to use prove.
Say you have
t/foo.t
t/bar.t
Then,
prove is short for prove t.
prove t runs the entire test suite (both t/foo.t and t/bar.t).
prove t/foo.t runs that specific test file.
perl t/foo.t runs that specific test file, and you get the raw output. Easier for debugging.
perl -d t/foo.t even allows you to run the test in the debugger.
Each file is a self-standing program. If you need to share code between test programs, you can create t/lib/Test/Utils.pm (or whatever) and use the following in your test files:
use FindBin qw( $RealBin );
use lib "$RealBin/lib";
use Test::Utils;
prove executes the files in alphabetical order, so it's common to name the files
00_baseline.t
01_basic_tests.t
02_more_basic_tests.t
03_advanced_tests.t
The 00 test tests if the modules can be loaded and that's it. It usually outputs the versions of loaded modules to help with dependency problems. Then you have your more basic tests. The stuff that's like "if this doesn't work, you have major problems". There's no point in testing the more complex features if the basics don't work.
I want to add codecov to this project. Yet, codecov says here that it can not process my coverage.xml file that I created with this command: pytest python/tests -v --junitxml=coverage.xml in the Travis CI script.
Everything prior to that like providing my token seems to work as suggested in the TravisCI build here.
I thought this could perhaps be a problem with the paths but I included a potential fix in the codecov.yml and nothing changed.
Therefore, I do not think that the script codecov.yml, travis.yml, and utils/travis_runner.py are part of the problem.
The --junitxml option is for generating reports in JUnit format. Use the option --cov-report to generate coverage reports. pytest-cov allows passing --cov-report multiple times to generate reports in different formats. Example:
$ pip install pytest pytest-cov
$ pytest --cov=mypkg --cov-report term --cov-report xml:coverage.xml
will print the coverage table and generate the Cobertura XML report which is CodeCov-compatible.
I have a Rest API. I wrote my test automation in Perl which sends curl commands. I want to integrate the tests with TeamCity build so that any change in the code will be pulled, installed in a machine and the tests will be run. If all the tests pass then only the build will be green in TeamCity.
Now I don't know how to integrate Perl with TeamCity. Is there any plugins available for this?
You can use the Teamcity plugin for Perl to integrate your perl tests with Teamcity. If you use this ,
The test results are displayed in a nice Teamcity Tests tab witch a breakdown for Success, Failed and ignored tests.
You can go into the history of tests to know exactly when a change started breaking someone's tests.
You get a log info per each test which is useful for debugging when you have multiple tests.

I am currently working on a Mojolicious app using TDD on my Mac and I am getting a bit fed up of having to manually run my tests every time I change some code.
After doing some Rails development, I really started to like the automatic response I got from the autotest gem, and as wondering it there is a Perl equivalent or if there is some way to use autotest with Perl.
One possibility is the Test:: Continuous suite. It includes the autoprove command, which reruns the test suite after source file updates:
% sudo cpan Test::Continuous
% cd MyModule/
% autoprove
The Test module is your friend.
Take a look at Test::Simple too, or go take a look at all of the various Test modules at http://perldoc.perl.org/5.8.9/index-modules-T.html. If they're listed here, they're all part of the standard Perl distribution. In fact, if you write CPAN modules, you have to write a test suite using these Test modules to go with it.
I'd like to deploy my set of perl scripts by ant.
I'm going to run perl test scripts in the ant build.xml and I want to handle perl errors.
That's why I wonder, how does ant task work?
Does junit parse output of tests?
In this case I can transform TAP output within TAP::Formatter::JUnit CPAN module.

To say simplier, how can I "implant" perl module installing procedure (I use Module::Build) into my Apache Ant build script to handle perl tests errors?
The testing step returns a non-zero exit code if it failed.
