Send Facebook apprequest from Windows Phone - facebook

I'm trying to send an apprequest from my Windows Phone 7.5 application to a Facebook friend to invite that friend to play a gameround.
According to Facebooks official documentation, a request should be performed via dialogs:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/dialogs/requests/
Unfortunately I cannot get this to work/show on Windows Phone.
Is there another way to send an apprequest to a known facebook user (I only need to send it to one user)?
I have tested to do it by invoking the following code:
FacebookClient fb = new FacebookClient(_appAccessTooken);
var arguments = new Dictionary<string, object>();
arguments["appId"] = Consts.FaceBookAppID;
arguments["title"] = "Play a gameround!";
arguments["message"] = "Would you like to play with me?";
fb.PostAsync("/user-id/apprequests", arguments);
This works, but:
1) The user will not get a proper notification, it will only be visible from the Applicationcenter notices.
2) The request will be sent from the application name, not from me (the user)
Does anybody know how to get this working?
II'm using the Facebook SDK for .NET (http://facebooksdk.net/)
Thanks in advance.

AS3: Post to Facebook Wall - Error #2032

I am currently developing an app with which visitors of an event can take pictures using a webcam and upload them to Facebook using an AS3-application. I know I can connect to Facebook, because I can log the user out using the API and I can get all the information. The problem is that I can't post to their wall for some reason. I keep getting the following error:
error #2032: stream error. url: https://graph.facebook.com/********/feed
I use the following code to post to Facebook:
private function postFB(e:Event=null):void {
var _params:Object = new Object();
_params.uid = Facebook.getAuthResponse().uid;
_params.access_token = Facebook.getAuthResponse().accessToken;
_params.message = "I was at the Thanksgiving Day Event.";
//_params.picture = _bitmap;
Facebook.api("/me/feed", postComplete, _params, "POST");
}
As I've said before, I know I am connected to facebook because if I change "POST" to "GET" in my api-call, I get all the information of my account. I have the correct permissions as far as I know (read_stream, publish_stream, user_photos). I use GraphAPI_Web_1_8_1.swc as an api.
The documentation on the entire api is very poor, so I am trying to figure out the problem. It's been a few years since I've tried any of this, so my code has probably aged too far by now. So, any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
publish_stream is deprecated (since years?), you need to use publish_actions.
If that does not work, make sure the Access Token includes all the permissions, you can test this in the Debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
Side note: AS3 is not getting used very often anymore, the last version of the the AS3 SDK is from 2011. It may be a good idea to switch to the JavaScript SDK.

How to setup Facebook App Request from Unity with Prime31 Social combo plugin?

my problem is this, when the user is asked to select friends from the list and click on Send I receive a Success state from callback but no request is reached from the people selected in the list.
My setup is this:
- my app is a native app for iOS and Android made in Unity
- my app is registered in Facebook developer portal as Game/Puzzle, I set up bundle id, package name, display name and namespace
- my app is not yet published
- I configured the Prime31 Facebook plugin with the appId given from Facebook and Display Name
I send my request like this:
public void AskLifesOnFacebook()
{
var parameters = new Dictionary<string, string>
{
//{ "app_id", "#######my_app_id_number####" },
{ "method", "apprequests" },
{ "title", "My request title" },
{ "message", "My request text" }
};
FacebookCombo.showDialog("apprequests", parameters);
}
But still the friends selector is shown up correctly on an overlay windows, I select friends and send the request but no request is received.
Am I missing something in the configuration of my app on Facebook? Do I need to pass some kind of certification?
From the same app the stream.publish is working correctly and I can publish on user walls.
The setup with Prime31 plugin and the call are correct!
You have to enable "Single Sign On" and "Deep Linking" in Facebook app parameters and add a valid itunes ID for your app (while testing you can put any valid ID, but you should create a itunes connect entry for your app and get the final ID).
When your app is a native iOS app, the users see the notifications only through the Facebook iOS app, so they are guarantee they can open iTunes or run the game.
Global notifications instead (ej: regular browser on PC) are seen if the app is in a Facebook Canvas.

posting reply to inbox message?

I'm trying to post a reply to an inbox message by sending a POST request to /message_id/comments. Is this the correct way to send a reply to an inbox message ?
I'm getting the following error:
"error": {
"type": "OAuthException",
"message": "(#3) App must be on whitelist"
}
The token has every possible permission.
Do I have to ask that my app is added on a whitelist ? how to do so ?
I'm doing this in javascript+jQuery:
var params = {
access_token: token
, method: 'post'
, message: 'hi'
};
$.getJSON('https://graph.facebook.com/$message_id/comments?callback=?', params, function(json) {
});
Facebook apps by default aren't allowed to send messages on behalf of users. There is no permission you are missing. This is an extra level to prevent spam (beyond prompting the user who). You will have to contact Facebook to get your application whitelisted. I would try their developer group.
opened a support ticket right here:
http://developers.facebook.com/bugs/183144141763793?browse=search_4e8b140cbf26e6040457329
Tried all I can think of and googled for, still getting this issue
Like others have pointed out, there isn't a way to do this programmatically unless you are on Facebook's whitelist. However, I did find a way around this for my app. What I do is use Oauth to display messages from a user's FB inbox like normal. When the user clicks 'Reply' on a message, I just send them to the reply page on Facebook Mobile, like this:
$('.reply').click(function() {
var popup_window = window.open('http://touch.facebook.com/messages/compose?ids='+message_id, '_blank');
popup_window.focus();
});
Where message id is the Facebook id for the message they are replying to. In my case, I use PHP to echo the message id into a javascript variable or data-attribute when the page loads. Since the Facebook mobile page opens in a new tab, they don't even really leave my app. Since Facebook mobile has a very streamlined interface it isn't too distracting. It's not perfect, but it works and it's easier than trying to get whitelisted.

Facebook status update with PHP

My requirement was to update members status from my site, i am also thinking about displaying their friends photos and their last status update.
I have looked all over the docs and cant decide which works for my need. RESTful API, JavaScript API, FQL, XFBML, FBML, FBJS ?? whcin one works best? or best way?
It should be like, when they first go to the page,there will be nothing but a login option. when they click on it, a pop up should appear and when they are authorized, we display a text area to post update. Here, i wanted to show their friends pics too
when they came back later, they should able to post right away, must not ask for login again.
Can some one help me with the code?? I dont expect you to write everything, get the friends pic and their last update into a PHP array would be nice.
Many thanks
If u need to update users data stored at ur database so u will use the facebook API to check user signed in and get his data. i have an ifram application at facebook and i am using C# code (asp.net application) and when the user request the application i authenticate that he is signed in to facebook and check if he is already exist in my database? if not so i get his information(by using facebook API) and add the user in my data base and each time he visits the application i update his information.
With respect to his friends i get all facebook ids of the user friends and then loop these IDs and get the pic of each ID.
Download Facebook Developer Toolkit that enables u communicate with facebook and use facebook API to get user information.
hope that is will help u
Visit my application in facebook and u will see these features at the following link :

Getting the session Key :
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
//Facebook code for integration with facebook users:
_fbService.ApplicationKey = "Application Key";
_fbService.Secret = "Secret Key";
_fbService.IsDesktopApplication = false;
string sessionKey = (string)Session["Facebook_session_key"];
if (Session["Facebook_userId"] != null)
userId = (long)Session["Facebook_userId"];
// When the user uses the Facebook login page, the redirect back here will will have the auth_token in the query params
string authToken = Request.QueryString["auth_token"];
if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(sessionKey))
{
_fbService.SessionKey = sessionKey;
_fbService.uid = userId;
}
else if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(authToken))
{
_fbService.CreateSession(authToken);
Session["Facebook_session_key"] = _fbService.SessionKey;
Session["Facebook_userId"] = _fbService.uid;
Session["Facebook_session_expires"] = _fbService.SessionExpires;
}
else
{
Response.Redirect(#"http://www.Facebook.com/login.php?api_key=" + _fbService.ApplicationKey + #"&v=1.0");
}
userId = _fbService.uid;
//End of Facebook code
}

Inviting friends in facebook application

I have a facebook application that is published at facebook platform and i used facebook API to invite friends and i have succeeded in creating invitation form but the problem is that when u invite friend and send invitation and the invitation request sent to the user and the user accept it this friend appears again in the friend list that can be invited again
For example :
i have friend in my friend list named X and when i send invitation to him the invitation is sent and and X accept the invitation and when i try to send invitation again the friend X appears again in the list that i can select from to send invitation this means that may i send an invitation to this user (X) and he is already playing the game i need to know how to fix this problem so friends appear in the friend list (for invitation )only friends that not use the application.
My application at the following link
My Game application
visit it and see the problem exactly after inviting friends they will appear again is this normal in any game application?
thanks in advance for any reply
In FBML if you are using the friend-selector you can pass it an array exclude_ids. If you use the api to find the users' friends who are already using your app, you can exclude them this way.
This also works in the multi-friend-selector which sits inside an fb:request-form tag.
EDIT: the array of users to exclude can be obtained through the api call Friends.getAppUsers.
Following example uses the .NET Facebook Developer Toolkit. (mainly because that's how I've done it before!)
CODE BEHIND:
public string CURRENT_USER_FRIENDS = "";
//Call this function on pageload or where you like
private void PopulateFriendsData()
{
//exclude friends who already have the app from the inviter
string UsersToExclude = string.Empty;
IList<long> AppUserFriends = this.Master.API.friends.getAppUsers();
foreach (long L in AppUserFriends)
{
UsersToExclude += L.ToString() + ",";
}
CURRENT_USER_FRIENDS = UsersToExclude.TrimEnd(',');
}
PAGE:
<fb:multi-friend-selector
actiontext="Select the friends you want to invite"
rows="3"
exclude_ids="<%=CURRENT_USER_FRIENDS%>"/>
