Is it possible to add time stamp on the video screen while recording a video using camera?
Can we add timestamp on existing video's screen and remove audio from existing video?
I have searched over the internet, but couldn't find a clue, any guidance with reference tutorials please ?
Thanks
Apple has provided sample for video editing. You can check that.
The AVEditDemo sample is in the WWDC 2010 sample code pack

I'm making a photo gallery app. I use the photos as slides and shows them one by one with transactions made by core animation.
Now I need to turn this process in to a video so that I can share it on Youtube, but I don't know where to start or which reference should I read.
To make video in iphone you can AVAssetWriter.
Also have a look this post. You can capture your animation as images and make the video.
The AVAsset Apple APIs is used to do this sort of thing is. But be warned, it is not easy to use. If you would like to check out a working example Xcode project, see AVDecodeEncode. This example shows decoding from h.264 and then encoding the result back to h.264. You could write all you own code to do this, but just be aware that it is not for the faint of heart.
I'm working on an app that create a video from a collection of frames using AVFoundation, adds an audio track and uploads to Facebook. I've previously had this working successfully, but it now appears to be failing and I can't find the issue with the format of the video.
An example video is available here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/6p8u11
It should be a Quicktime movie with H.264 and AAC audio. This ought to be ok, but perhaps something about the frame size or frame rate are an issue?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks,
J
Im building an app that allows the user to record a video (in app) by pressing a button on the main screen. I don't want the user to be taken to the photo app because the video will only be able to be viewed on the app (Max of 15 seconds) and I can't quite get it. Anyone have the code to do this? A good example of what i want the camera to do is the camera in the app Cinemagram. Thanks for any help.
If you plan on saving the movie to the user's photo library, then you can use UIImagePickerController. In particular, you should read the guide that accompanies the class.
However, if you only want the video to be temporary, then you will probably want to use AVFoundation. You would then need to configure an AVCaptureSession with an AVCaptureMovieFileOutput to write the video to disk. Then, when you are ready to play the video, create an AVURLAsset with the file url that you just wrote, use that to create an AVPlayer to play the video, and add an AVPlayerLayer to your view, with said player, to display the video.
Either way, I would recommend studying the examples that Apple provides.
AVCam and
AVPlayerDemo should be more than enough to get you started (especially the AVCam example project).
How to record audio and video using AVFoundation frame by frame in iOS4?
The AVCamDemo you mention is close to what you need to do and should be able to use that as reference, among those these are the following classes you need to use in order to achive what you are trying... All the classes are part of AVFoundation, you need
AVCaptureVideoDataOutput and AVCaptutureAudioDataOutput - use these classes to get raw samples from the video camera and the microphone
Use AVAssetWriter and AVAssetWriterInput in order to encode the raw samples into a file - the following sample mac OS X project shows how to use these classes (the sample should work for ios too), however they use an AVAssetReader for input (it reencodes a movie file) instead of the Camera and microphone... You can use the outputs mentioned above as the input in your case to write what you want
That should be all you need in order to achieve what you want to do...
Heres a link showing how to use VideoDataOutput
Hope it helps
If you are a registered developer, look at the videos from the 2011 WWDC (which you can find by searching in the developer portal). There are two sessions relating to AVFoundation. There was also some sample code from one of the WWDC sessions, which was extremely useful.
I want to use AVAudioPlayer to play MP4 files from iTunes generator. I could use UIWebView to play it and it worked, but I want to put an image of my choice on the background of the player instead of the "QuickTime"-logo.
Here is an example of the m4p file I want to play with AVAudioPlayer.
If your question is, "can someone help me figure out how to use AVAudioPlayer," then I'd recommend taking a look at Apple's avTouch sample app, the documentation for AVAudioPlayer, and the guide Getting Started with Audio & Video.
When it happened to me I had a missing '/' on the end of my url. Adding that cleared me right up.
