I have an image loaded on the dom already, and I want to be able to drag that image into a canvas and drop it into the canvas and create a kineticjs object out of it.
I don't know how to make the image draggable, and I don't know how to make the canvas react to drag and drop events that already exist on the dom. Can someone show me how to do this?
Most of the tutorials show how to drag and drop from within the canvas, or the file system, I'm looking how to drag from the DOM to the canvas.
Background info:
I want to have a menu system or a bunch of thumbnails that a user can drag and drop into the canvas to expand the photo.

Hi I'm trying to develop a work flow editor as a drag, drop and draw, so that user can drag and drop shapes and connect them to create a diagram, for this I'm using Kendo UI draggable and drop target but the drop target has to be kendoDiagram widget. I'm facing issue in making the kendoDiagram as a dropTarget because it is already initialized as kendoDiagram please help me resolving this.

I would like to be able to move around (on the greyed-out background, by dragging and dropping) the modal form that is provided by Bootstrap 2. Can anyone tell me what the best practice for achieving this is?
The bootstrap doesn't come with any dragging and dropping functionality by default, but you can add a little jQuery UI spice into the mix to get the effect you're looking for. For example, using the draggable interaction from the framework you can target your modal ID to allow it to be dragged around within the modal backdrop.

Whatever draggable option you go for, you might want to turn off the *-transition properties for .modal.fade in bootstrap’s CSS file, or at least write some JS that temporarily disables them during dragging. Otherwise, the modal doesn’t drag exactly as you would expect.

Building on previous answers utilizing jQuery UI, this, included once, will apply to all your modals and keep the modal on screen, so users don't accidentally move the header off screen so they can no longer access the handle. Also sets the cursor to 'move' for better discoverability.

evt.target is the .modal which is the translucent overlay behind the actual .modal-content.
jquery UI is large and can conflict with bootstrap.

You still have to deal with transitions, as #user535673 suggests. I just remove the fade class from my dialog.
I'm looking for simple code that adds a popup in my Google Apps Script Ui that comes up when I hit a submit button. The popup box would display a message and have a button to close the popup.
I've looked all over the place - everything seems so complicated and does way more than I need it to do.

Since UiApp is depreciated, HTMLService should be used to create custom user interfaces.
To prompt simple popup to display a message, use alert method of Ui class

To display customized html template in Dialog, use HTMLService to create template and then pass it to showModalDialog method of Ui Class

Have you tried using zIndex? It places the panel above all of your other panels...

x = panel position from the left portion of your app
y = panel position from the top portion of your app
zIndex = the 'layer' your panel will appear on. You can stack panels using '1', '2', '3' etc.
position = your panel will be in a fixed position denoted by (x,y)
Visibility is set to false until you click submit, then have a client handler for your submit button make the popupPanel visible. When you click the button on your popupPanel, have the client handler set visibility to false once again and it will disappear.
One more thing, I noticed you get the active app and then create a new app. You do not need to create a new app...just new panels inside your app.

You can use a dialogbox to popup.
Add a button to the dialog-box. Add a client handler that sets the dialog box invisible,once you click the button.

I would like to have a fixed element (a DIV) in the iFrame for my Facebook Application. So when the user scrolls down the page, that element is still fixed on the top of the browser window?
The basic: You add stuff to a bag, while you are scrolling down, and a fixed DIV will show you your "score" while you add these things to the bag. The "score counter" should always be visible while scrolling.

This is not possible if you are using facebook's iframe auto-resize features. Once the iframe is resized so that scrolling is not necessary, the only scroll available will be the one of the parent window. However, the child iframe has no information about the scroll of the parent window (since they are not on the same domain...) and trying to listen to scroll events or scroll position will only return that the scrollbar is at position 0, or topmost.
You can however listen to click events and extract the offset of the click event or the clicked element.
Some examples:
