So phpMyAdmin 4.0.4 is out now it has the new cool jQuery style and the http://www.mamp.info/en/index.html only comes with the outdated phpMyAdmin 3.5.1.
Is there way to update? I've tried for the last hour and there is not a lot of resources out there for keeping phpMyAdmin on MAMP updated.
I tried downloading the phpMyAdmin 4.0.4 and replacing that folder content with what's inside the Applications/MAMP/bin/phpMyAdmin/ contents. and get all sorts of errors. is there a one click install to update this?
Assuming you don't have MAMP Pro -
Download latest version of phpMyAdmin (will probably be named something like phpMyAdmin-x.x.x-allLanguages, etc)
Save the folder to your desktop or downloads folder (somewhere you'll find it easily)
Make sure MAMP servers are off
In Finder, go into your existing phpMyAdmin directory (usually located in Applications/MAMP/bin/
Copy the 'config.inc.php' file from that existing phpMyAdmin directory.
Paste that config.inc.php into the directory of the latest version you just downloaded.
Back in /MAMP/bin - rename the existing / old phpMyAdmin folder to 'phpMyAdmin-old' or something similar (just in case there are issues you can go back)
Copy the latest version directory (the one you just downloaded and pasted the config.inc.php file into) and place it into the /MAMP/bin directory.
Rename the new directory to 'phpMyAdmin'
I just did this in August 2017 and it works 100%.

Download the latest version
Unpack the archive you just downloaded, the resulting folder should be called somewhat like "phpMyAdmin-x.y-all-languages"
Copy (in the Finder press ALT key to copy the file) the file "/Library/Application Support/appsolute/MAMP PRO/phpMyAdmin/config.inc.php" to "phpMyAdmin-x.y-all-languages"
Rename "/Library/Application Support/appsolute/MAMP PRO/phpMyAdmin" to "/Library/Application Support/appsolute/MAMP PRO/phpMyAdmin-OLD"
Rename "/Applications/MAMP/bin/phpMyAdmin" to "/Applications/MAMP/bin/phpMyAdmin-OLD"
Copy "phpMyAdmin-x.y-all-languages" to "/Applications/MAMP/bin/"
Rename "/Applications/MAMP/bin/phpMyAdmin-x.y-all-languages" to "/Applications/MAMP/bin/phpMyAdmin"
Copy "phpMyAdmin-x.y-all-languages" to "/Library/Application Support/appsolute/MAMP PRO/"

Netbeans has stopped uploading files using the relative file structure. No matter what I upload path settings I enter, it uploads only to the server root. How can I fix this?
The problem is just for one project; other projects using the same configuration are okay.
I compared the files in nbproject with a working project and there are no differences.
I changed the "upload directory" but it doesn't change where the file gets uploaded to
I deleted the project and
created it anew.
It seems to be simply ignoring the config.
On my local computer, the path is:

When I upload, it saves the file to
/folder2/MyFile.php
but it should save it to
/folder1/folder2/MyFile.php

SOLUTION: change the Sources folder in Project Properties.
From the Netbeans File menu > Project properties > under Categories select "Sources". Next to "Source folder:" click BROWSE. Navigate to the folder, higher or lower, in the local directory structure which matches the directory structure on the server > OK.
Upload the file and check the server to see where it was saved. Rinse, lather and repeat as necessary.
I have tried all different settings, and yes, I m aware of eclipse.ini and config.ini and also tried different command line arguments! Nothing solved my problem!
All attempts and still each time I run eclipse.exe it wants write to my userhome i.e. the .eclipse and .p2 folders.

This did not help! Well it writes to /e46 and /e46/p2 folder but it also creates/writes to c:\users\mrsimplemind\.eclipse & .eclipseextension & .p2

The only way I achieved this was by changing the user.home but I don't like this workaround as there are stuff in the original "user.home" that will be needed in eclipse, e.g. .ssh , .git , .m2 maven etc. I don't want to keep duplicates of profile settings for each eclipse user.home
I just want to isolate eclipse, this should be configurable! I don't like the outputs to user.home .. It is not an option! I want to have control of what eclipse creates in what folders, for each eclipse installation.
(I can only tell from windows os, I don't know how if Eclipse on Mac works better with the settings above)

The method I have tried to solve this problem has been nearly successful. Whether this is an answer for you will depend on your minimum acceptable level of quality.
If you are trying to prevent your Eclipse IDE from filling up your home drive, this technique will work (it has worked for me). It should not matter if Eclipse was installed by Oomph or from a plain zip, as nothing Oomph-related is modified in this solution.
If the requirement is that the user home p2 folder can be completely deleted and yet Eclipse still works without recreating that directory, no I have not been able to achieve that yet.
I am posting this as a partial solution, perhaps in the hope someone else can build upon it to figure out a better workaround. Obviously the perfect solution would be if eclipse had a configurable download location and the installer actually installed all software to only the location selected, but that requires the Eclipse developers to fix the "P2" component of the product. What follows is only a workaround.
Strategy
The premise is that the download pool folder always seems to be hardcoded into the config files to be under the home folder of the user that ran the eclipse installer. The essence of this workaround is to create a fake user home folder in the location of your choice, do a massive find-and-replace in the config files, and then force the Java system property to use that new folder as "user.home" which fools Eclipse into using it for its downloads.
Method
This was tested on Eclipse 4.7 Oxygen.3A on Mint Linux.
Extensive brain surgery of the Eclipse installation folder is needed.
Install Eclipse somewhere other than your user's home drive.
In this example the Oomph installer was given /media/LINAPPS/ubuntu-apps/eclipse-oxy as the install target, which then creates /media/LINAPPS/ubuntu-apps/eclipse-oxy/eclipse during the installation.
Start Eclipse at least once, then close it and make sure Eclipse is not running.
Create a new fake user home drive folder underneath the Eclipse folder.
In this example I created eclipse-oxy/eclipse/fakeHome
Copy the entire (hidden) p2 directory from your user home directory into the new fakeHome.
eg cp -R /home/$USER/.p2 /media/LINAPPS/ubuntu-apps/eclipse-oxy/eclipse/fakeHome/.p2
Go to the eclipse folder and edit the eclipse.ini in a text editor. Make these 2 changes:
set the line after --launcher.library to be the copy of the pool in the new location relative to the eclipse folder, eg : fakeHome/.p2/pool/...etc...
append a new system property setting to end of the file after all the other vm arguments, and set user.home to the new fake user home directory.
eg: -Duser.home=/media/LINAPPS/ubuntu-apps/eclipse-oxy/eclipse/fakeHome
Edit the file eclipse/configuration/org.eclipse.update/platform.xml. Find the first <site> entry and change the url attribute to be the new pool folder relative to the eclipse folder. eg: url="file:fakeHome/.p2/pool/"
Edit the file /media/LINAPPS/ubuntu-apps/eclipse-oxy/eclipse/configuration/org.eclipse.equinox.simpleconfigurator/bundles.info and again find and replace all references to you user home's p2 folder with the new p2 folder under the fakeUser. You could find over 1000 matches to replace here. It again seems to be possible to make these relative to the eclipse folder, so a path of "fakeHome/.p2/pool/....." will work.
Go to the new /eclipse/fakeHome/.p2 folder and edit both of the files there "pools.info" and "profiles.info". Again find any reference to your real user home and replace it with the path to the fakeUser folder. Use the full pathname (from root) for the pool location in both of these files.
Unpack, edit, and repack the latest profileRegistry. Find the folder
eclipse/fakeHome/.p2/org.eclipse.equinox.p2.engine/profileRegistry/_media_LINAPPS_ubuntu-apps_eclipse-oxy_eclipse.profile/. Now find the latest timestamped gz file in that folder. For example it might be called "1529736854441.profile.gz".
gunzip that .gz file. Edit the .profile file and again replace any mention of your real user home with the new fakeUser folder. For example in my installation one of the first property settings had to be changed to
<property name='org.eclipse.equinox.p2.cache' value='/media/LINAPPS/ubuntu-apps/eclipse-oxy/eclipse/fakeHome/.p2/pool'/>
Delete the old gz file, then gzip the profile into a gz, so it has replaced the old one.
I also edited the file /eclipse/fakeHome/.p2/org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core/cache/artifacts.xml and replaced the repository name with a reference to the new location inside fakeHome, but I am not sure this was necessary to get eclipse working.
Start eclipse.
Results
After doing the above, I tried to add Install New Software from the Help menu. After downloading lots of new plugins from Redhat and Spring, the new fakeHome pool occupies 900MB, but the original user home pool is still less than 400MB which is what it was as soon as eclipse had been installed. So it has been successful at moving the download cache of the updater and no files get updated in the old location, but two directories under .p2 still seem to have their timestamps touched.
If anyone finds this useful, or figures out how to improve it, please let me know.

Install Eclipse, but DON'T launch it yet
Edit eclipse.ini and, underneath -vmargs, add an entry to change user home to be a shared folder:
e.g.
-vmargs
-Duser.home=C:\Development
Launch Eclipse. Should see ".eclipse", ".tooling", etc folders created in shared folder, and nothing created under your user folder.

I added my eclipse.ini below:
-vmargs
-D"user.home=C:\your_path_here"
The 3 folders of .eclipse, .p2, & .tooling appeared after I started and then closed eclipse.
I am not sure when these are written into the new path, but it worked in my Windows 10.
Did you try adding the following line to eclipse.ini below -vmargs:
-Dosgi.configuration.area=#user.home/.someFolder
which will use .someFolder instead of .eclipse
or
-Dosgi.configuration.area=C:\path_to_desired_location\.eclipseJAVA
In my xcode project i have created a folder manually named "MyClasses" to place the newly added files/classes to this folder.
Now i have nearly 30 classes in this folder.
when i renamed this folder , all the files in this folder are gets Erased.
Now i need to rename the folder to "ViewControllerClasses".
But i lost 30 .h, .m, xib files. [lucky i have a copy & and zip file]
How to rename the folder with out corrupting the files.

Method_1. Try Manual editing:
« Drag your MedChart.xcodeproj to TextWrangler (or any text editor)
« Use find button to find "FolderName" (Your folder name)
« Replace all with new name.
« In some project you may notice header search path problem...goto header search path and replace with new name.
Method_2. Use Xcode to choose base folder:
Rename folder in finder then use Xcode to choose same folder.

Now Xcode 9 synchronises the folder and the project hierarchy automatically.

The "folders" what you see in XCode under your project file are not real folders in the file system, only virtual folders administered in the .xcodeproj file. You can organize your files in the project folder independently from their location in the file system. Some prefers to map the file system folder structure inside the project folder structure, some others store all source files in one big folder in the file system and organize them only in the project folders: it's rather a question of preference.
However if you rename/move physically the files in the file system, you will have to delete and re-add them to your project since XCode will not know where to find them. Pay attention not to delete them physically only remove them from XCode project, then re-add them and reorganize as you want.
One more thing to note: if you are using version control system you will have to inform also its client (svn or git most likely) that you have renamed/moved your files. If you want to keep file revision history it will be a good idea to issue the copy/move command explicitly to the version control otherwise it will treat your files as deleted from the old location and added as new in the new location.
In case anyone is still having trouble with this:
Select the folder or file in the left-side bar of XCode corresponding to the folder you want to rename (for me I renamed the folder containing all my files so I selected the topmost folder)
On the right-side bar, below where it says 'Location', click the folder icon.
In the file explorer that opens up rename the existing folder to whatever name you'd like it to be, then afterwards select it and press 'Ok'.
XCode should update the file locations accordingly.
Keep in mind that if you rename something which contains a file that is hard-coded as a certain path in your build settings, XCode will throw an error. You'll have to manually change those paths in your build settings.
This worked for me, hope it works for you too.
You should just run a search and replace on the project file (if you are working with version control and with other developers you will have seen this file a lot without a doubt), it's the project.pbxproj file located inside the xxxxxxxx.xcodeproj file.
Just right click (Control + Click) on the file and select "Show Package Contents" to find the xcodeproj file.
I still find it easier than all these methods to simply create a new folder in your file navigator and then drag your files from the other folder into it. Sometimes the simplest way is the best way. It literally takes me 10 seconds and I don't need to leave Xcode.
Using RubyMine 2.0.2 for the first time today, on Mac OSX Leopard. If I create files in the filesystem (with, say, script/generate) those new files do not appear in rubymine. I have had limited success with restarting the program, in that the files in the db/ folder are added and removed, but unfortunately new folders in the views directory are not shown.

Close rubymine, delete the .idea folder ...
sudo rm -r .idea
(if macos or linux)
... and restart until they fix it
AND/OR
In Rubymine, Go to File > Open Directory > navigate to the directory or file that you require, this should refresh the view, don't add the .idea folder to git ( if you're using it )
Not great, but you can get round it
If you right click on a directory in the Projects tab, there is an option for "Synchronize". Click it and RM will show all files, sub-diretories etc. again.
I'm trying to install Enclojure. I've downloaded the latest zip file from GitHub (http://github.com/EricThorsen/enclojure/downloads), but when I unzip it, I get a folder ending in .nbm, not a file. The install directions say to point NetBeans to a .nbm file, not a folder, and NetBeans won't let me select the folder, either. The folder contains files and folders appropriate to a Java plugin, but I think it needs to be compressed into a single file, like a CAB in Windows. I tried downloading another NBM file from the NetBeans plugin repository, and it downloaded as one file, but for some reason it's not working with Enclojure. I don't know whether it matters, but I'm using Mac OS X Leopard.
Any help is much appreciated.

I successfully installed Enclojure on Mac OS X 10.5.8 + NetBeans 6.8 like this:
sudo port install wget
wget http://cloud.github.com/downloads/EricThorsen/enclojure/enclojure-plugin-2010-jan.nbm
launch NetBeans, click "Install Plugins", select "Downloaded" tab, "Add Plugins..." button and find your downloaded enclojure-plugin-2010-jan.nbm file
Don't download any of the files provided in .zip format. Download the latest release's .nbm file (enclojure-plugin-2010-jan.nbm currently) by clicking on its name in the table with a couple .nbm entries and a couple of .zips (which you should be able just to ignore). Then follow the rest of the instructions from here.
As a side note, .nbm files are themselves just .zip archives renamed .nbm to mark them for their purpose... Perhaps if you zipped up the contents of your .nbm folder and renamed the archive to whatever.nbm, you'd have a working Enclojure (though I haven't checked). But anyway, don't do it, just grab the .nbm file straight from the source.
