FBWebDialog passing params to FB app page? - iphone

I am using the FB iOS SDK to invite friends to my app. I am able to use the FBWebDialog to post the "Invite" which shows up in the recipients notifications. The link then redirects that recipient to the Facebook app page for my app. The FB app page currenly embeds my website.
[FBWebDialogs presentRequestsDialogModallyWithSession:nil
message:#"Try this app called ..."
title:#"Invite to ..."
parameters:params
handler:^(FBWebDialogResult result, NSURL *resultURL, NSError *error) {
if (error) {
// Case A: Error launching the dialog or sending request.
NSLog(#"Error sending request.");
} else {
if (result == FBWebDialogResultDialogNotCompleted) {
// Case B: User clicked the "x" icon
NSLog(#"User canceled request.");
} else {
NSLog(#"Request Sent.");
}
}}];
In a perfect world I would like to pass a parameter to the app homepage so I can redirect to the appropiate detail page in my site. Is this possible?
Thanks

Facebook share dialog

I got one problem in Facebook web-dialog which i am implementing in iPhone(ios7). After Facebook login whenever i click on share button it is not opening a Facebook web dialog. But after closing the application if i run again my application and click share button it is working perfectly. I don't know what is the problem. Please help me.
This is my share function
[FBWebDialogs presentFeedDialogModallyWithSession:nil
parameters:params
handler:
^(FBWebDialogResult result, NSURL *resultURL, NSError *error)
{
if (error) {
// Error launching the dialog or sending the request.
NSLog(#"Error sending request.");
} else {
if (result == FBWebDialogResultDialogNotCompleted) {
// User clicked the "x" icon
NSLog(#"User canceled request.");
} else {
// Handle the send request callback
NSDictionary *urlParams = [self parseURLParams:[resultURL query]];
if (![urlParams valueForKey:#"request"]) {
// User clicked the Cancel button
NSLog(#"User canceled request.");
} else {
// User clicked the Send button
NSString *requestID = [urlParams valueForKey:#"request"];
NSLog(#"Request ID: %#", requestID);
}
}
}
}];

title:#"Cariyuk"
parameters:params
handler:^(FBWebDialogResult result, NSURL *resultURL, NSError *error) {
if (error) {
// Case A: Error launching the dialog or sending request.

Fb request dialog returns nil incorrectly - IOS Facebook

Thanks for reading!
I'm trying to create a Facebook request to enable the user to invite his friends to the app.
NSDictionary *params = [[NSDictionary alloc] initWithObjectsAndKeys:nil];
[FBWebDialogs
presentRequestsDialogModallyWithSession:nil
message:#"Learn how to make your iOS apps social."
title:#"Test"
parameters:params
handler:^(FBWebDialogResult result, NSURL *resultURL, NSError *error) {
if (error) {
// Error launching the dialog or sending the request.
NSLog(#"Error sending request.");
} else {
if (result == FBWebDialogResultDialogNotCompleted) {
// User clicked the "x" icon
NSLog(#"User canceled request.");
} else {
// Handle the send request callback
NSDictionary *urlParams = [self parseURLParams:[resultURL query]];
if (![urlParams valueForKey:#"request"]) {
// User clicked the Cancel button
NSLog(#"User canceled request.");
} else {
// User clicked the Send button
NSString *requestID = [urlParams valueForKey:#"request"];
NSLog(#"Request ID: %#", requestID);
}
}
}
}];
}
This is pretty much a clean copy of the Facebook docs code. And it works up to a point
The user can choose the friends and the request goes away and gets received by the friends and it shows up as a notification - everything fine so far.
The problem is that when I try to get the response from the "handler" the resultURL is nil and does not contain anything. And after that I get the log message "User canceled request".
Why don't I get anything back? The main reason that I need this is that I need to know which friends the request was sent to.
Thank you for any help!
Seems like you're passing an nil empty session to presentRequestsDialogModallyWithSession
Use FBSession.activeSession instead and check you have enough permissions to run the request (although if not, you would be getting another different error)
I think you are not having a session opened..please try to use this to open the session.
if (!FBSession.activeSession.isOpen) {
// if the session is closed, then we open it here, and establish a handler for state changes
[FBSession openActiveSessionWithReadPermissions:nil
allowLoginUI:YES
completionHandler:^(FBSession *session,
FBSessionState state,
NSError *error) {
}];
}

iphone development: How to open FBWebDialog with pre-defined receivers and no friend list

I want to send requests to the friends by using FBWebDialog. Is it possible to open FBWebDialog with pre-defined receiver section. I mean, for example I will send request to the friends whose FB ids are 00000 and 11111. is it possible to open FBWebDialog which already has 00000 and 11111 in the receiver section? I also dont want the friend list which comes with the FBWebDialog.
So I just want to have the possibility to send request to the pre-defined receivers.
If there is something which does that other than the FBWebDialog, it is also OK.
Thanks in advance.
This can be done with the standard FBWebDialog class by specifying the 'to' parameter as a comma separated list.
NSMutableDictionary* params = [NSMutableDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:
// 2. Optionally provide a 'to' param to direct the request at
#"000000,111111", #"to",
nil];
[FBWebDialogs presentRequestsDialogModallyWithSession:nil
message:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"I just smashed %d friends! Can you beat it?", nScore]
title:nil
parameters:params
handler:^(FBWebDialogResult result, NSURL *resultURL, NSError *error) {
if (error) {
// Case A: Error launching the dialog or sending request.
NSLog(#"Error sending request.");
} else {
if (result == FBWebDialogResultDialogNotCompleted) {
// Case B: User clicked the "x" icon
NSLog(#"User canceled request.");
} else {
NSLog(#"Request Sent.");
}
}}];

How to check if Facebook is loggedIN in device ? objective C

I am implementing the Facebook SDK into my app . I am using FBLoginView to login with Facebook. I have a UIButton, which I'm using to share on a user's Facebook wall. Now I don't want to login using FBLoginView , i want to check if there is a Facebook app, and if the user has logged in.
- (IBAction)pickFriendsList:(UIButton *)sender
{
FBFriendPickerViewController *friendPickerController = [[FBFriendPickerViewController alloc] init];
friendPickerController.title = #"Pick Friends";
[friendPickerController loadData];
// Use the modal wrapper method to display the picker.
[friendPickerController presentModallyFromViewController:self animated:YES handler:
^(FBViewController *sender, BOOL donePressed) {
if (!donePressed) {
return;
}
NSString* fid;
NSString* fbUserName;
for (id<FBGraphUser> user in friendPickerController.selection)
{
NSLog(#"\nuser=%#\n", user);
fid = user.id;
fbUserName = user.name;
NSMutableDictionary* params = [NSMutableDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:#"test", #"message", #"http://webecoist.momtastic.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/nature-wonders.jpg", #"picture", #"Sample App", #"name",fid,#"tags",fid,#"to",#"106377336067638",#"place", nil];
[FBRequestConnection startWithGraphPath:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%#/feed",fid] parameters:params HTTPMethod:#"POST" completionHandler:^(FBRequestConnection *connection,id result,NSError *error)
{
[FBWebDialogs presentFeedDialogModallyWithSession:nil parameters:params handler:^(FBWebDialogResult result, NSURL *resultURL, NSError *error)
{
if (error)
{
// Error launching the dialog or publishing a story.
NSLog(#"Error publishing story.");
}
else
{
if (result == FBWebDialogResultDialogNotCompleted) {
// User clicked the "x" icon
NSLog(#"User canceled story publishing.");
}
else
{
// Handle the publish feed callback
//Tell the user that it worked.
}
}
}];
}];
}
}];
}
I am assuming that you are using iOS 6 sdk. In which case, Use below code (workable for device) :
if([SLComposeViewController isAvailableForServiceType:SLServiceTypeFacebook])
{
//user is already logged in using iOS integrated FB a/c
}
else
{
//user is not logged in
}
Note: FBSession can't check this criteria. So session check with FBSession has a different meaning from above code.
Regards,
Check for the URL Scheme fb://
[[UIApplication sharedApplication] canOpenURL:#"fb://"] returns YES if Facebook App is installed. This post lists, de available URL schemes for Facebook: https://stackoverflow.com/a/5707825/1511668
Maybe fb://online is what you are looking for.
