There are no possibility to see ToolTip on irregular chart when some points placed on the same X line but with different Y values.
actually I expected observe tooltip in that places where mouse positioned and if the graph Point exist in the small radius around. However for the picture above we can observed tooltip only for the higest and pre-higest points, but not for the lowest and pre-lowes points.

Yes, duplicated points on xAxis are not supported for (sp)line series. You can use scatter series with lineWidth: 1 instead.

I'm afraid that axis are always in left and bottom of the plot area.
One thing you can do is set the min at negative, or leave it automatic, and add a plotline with value 0 for both axes. That way you can visualize the chart's quadrants.
If you're using java API you can use addPlotLine method in xAxis or yAxis classes. You can check the java tab in the boxplot demo
I am generating multiple plots of different datasets in succession using MATLAB. I would like the legend positions to be such that they don't overlap on the plotted lines and it would be ideal if this placement could be done automatically.
I am aware of setting the 'Location' to 'best' to achieve this but the placement of the legend tends to be awkward when 'best' is used (below). Also, I would like the legend to be inside the plot. I also came across a way to make the legend transparent (here) so that it does not render the plotted data invisible, but explicitly placing the legend elsewhere is what I am looking for.
Is there a way to place the legend at the extremes of the image ('NorthWest', 'SouthWest' etc) automatically such that it does not overlap on the plotted data (apart from the methods suggested above)?
So, you have tried using Location instead of Position? For example:
x =1:100;
y = x.^2;
lgd = legend('y = x.^2');
set(lgd,'Location','best')
and you are getting odd results correct? A quick way of solving this would be to still use Location, with best, and extract the coordinates:
lgd.Position
You should get something like this:
ans =

which maps to:
[left bottom width height]
You will need to focus on left and bottom. These two values, left and bottom, specify the distance from the lower left corner of the figure to the lower left corner of the legend, and they are analogous to the grid frame you are using.
Then, depending on the size of the frame (I would suggest you use axis([XMIN XMAX YMIN YMAX]) for this, if possible), you can pinpoint the position of the legend within the grid. What you can do next, is check if and which of your graphs in the plot cross paths with the legend (maybe define a relative distance function based on some distance threshold) and if they do, then randomly reposition the legend (i.e. change the values of left and bottom) and repeat until your conditions are met.
If this still troubles you I can write a short snippet. Finally, know that you can always opt for placing the legend on the outside:
set(lgd,'Location','BestOutside')

I have a control chart, with on the X-axis a time period, and the Y-axis the value of the measure (I'd like to plot all the points in a control chart).
However, I have 2 different values as a measure, which have the exact same date (up to a second match) but different measure values.
When I plot this on a control chart, instead of having 2 points in the control chart with value 500 and 550 for example - it gives me one point with a value of about 200.
It also gives a notification that there is a NULL value in this axis, which points to the X-axis where 2 records have the exact same date.
Any idea what I can do to make this correct - or make tableau draw the measure points correctly?

It's difficult to answer without seeing more detail about your problem, but this sounds like a good candidate for a blended axis. (multiple measures sharing a single axis)
The easiest way to do this is to put your (probably continuous) datetime field on the row axis and one of your measures on the row axis to see one of then control plots. Then drag the second measure to the Y-axis until you see a little translucent two bar icon to indicate that you are adding a second measure to that axis, at which point you can release the pointer and you should see a two plots on the same axis.
If the scales for the two measures are radically different, you can instead drag the second measure to the right side instead to get a dual axis.
I have a system of finite size circular particles (say r=5cm) which I need to plot in a given domain (say L=5m). Since they are many, scatter is faster than any cyclic use of rectangle.
What is unclear to me is the correct way to define the diameter/radius of the circles/marker so to scale correctly with the domain geometry which is plotted as well. (By using rectangle, the diameter of the particle can be easily defined.)
Based on this answer, it is possible to have fine control of the marker size, although the real scaling is obscure to me.

The SCATTER function expects its 'S' parameter to contain the marker
area in points squared. This area corresponds to the area of a square
bounding box around the marker.

Marker size. Size of the marker in points. The default value is 6.
Note that one point is 1/72 of an inch, so it's an absolute measurement unit.
If you want to tune the marker sizes according to the axis scale of your plot, do a simple unit conversion: calibrate 1 tick in one of the axes to points (you can do it by trial and error), and then normalize all your marker sizes by it (it doesn't, however, occur to me how you'd keep the marker sizes relative to the plot's zoom level in a straightforward manner).
By the way, you can specify the sizes of the markers directly as the third parameter in the scatter command. With this, you can avoid the get and set manipulations mentioned in the answer to which have linked your question.
Just want to find out if anyone have encountered this problem before.
Basically I am currently using Flot version 0.8. I am trying to plot a chart with multiple yaxis against datetime in xaxis.
The Left yaxis are for values which normally range between 10-80 whereas right yaxis are for values range between 100-500.
Is that even possible to have them plotted with the same tick size (E.g., 20) and the dimension of the chart is fixed.
At the moment, FLOT will automatically apply different tick size on left and right yaxis.
What do you guys think?
