I'm trying to install FUF/SURGE on my windows computer, and got stuck on a step.
Instruct quicklisp where to find the system definition files to load
fuf and dependent modules. Create a file in this folder:
~/.config/common-lisp/source-registry.conf.d with this content:
(:source-registry
(:tree (:home "fuf"))
:inherit-configuration)
I was wondering how do I get to the file listed above and how do i edit it? I have emacs installed with quicklisp/slime.
OK so you need to make these subfolders in your home directory. I'm guessing you installed under windows as I saw your comment on my video! Remember that part of the install was created a home folder and setting it's path in your environment variables.
~ is the symbol for the home directory so you need to create directories for this path ~/.config/common-lisp/source-registry.conf.d\ which for my setup would be c:\home.config\common-lisp\source-registry.conf.d\
Inside that create directory creare a fuf.conf file and paste the lines from the instructions.
I haven’t got a windows machine to hand but hopefully that's enough to get you going!

So I'm trying to change the directory the integrated terminal runs my Python scripts in from the root workspace (the default, I guess) to the running file directory. I want to do this as I'm more used to work with paths relative to running file than to root dir. Also sometimes I use quite large directory trees and even paths to near directory files get quite long by starting them from root dir. This would also allow me to use Path Intellisense extension as it seems to base suggestions on the current file dir.
I heard about changing the lauch.json file but I'm looking for a definitive solution that avoids having to change this in all projects.
I have already tried to change settings.json cwd option to "terminal.integrated.cwd": "${fileDirname}" but it doesn´t seem to take any effect, even after reloading.
I'm not sure what other infos are relevant here, but nevertheless i'm running vscode on windows 11 version 21H2. Any other info feel free to ask.

Ive downloaded QGIS 3.22
according to documentation, I need to set PYTHONPANTH and PATH to make pyqgis visible from python for a stand alone application:
set PYTHONPATH=c:<qgispath>\python
such folder doesnt exist. Specificly c:\program files\qgis 3.22\python
I set the path to many folders in the directory (\apps\qgis\bin, apps\qgis\python\qgis....) but it doesnt work.
Im checking the sys.path and the new PYTHONPATH is there.
still when importing qgis.core , i get "no module qgis"
what am I missing?
Check the docs for Running Custom Applications. Make sure you have the DLL and lib folders in your PYTHONPATH. Check the environment variables using the built-in interpreter (the order of directories in PATH matters) and make sure they match your standalone environment. Also, your install should come with a python-qgis-ltr.bat or python-qgis.bat bootstrap file which is a nice starting point for setting up your own environment (on windows).
My problem is that the portable version of visual studio code don't load my settings I had copied from the folder %APPDATA%/code/user.
I loaded the .zip data and extracted the folder. I added a data folder into the extracted folder of VS Code. It's in Visual Studio Code\data. In there i copied the folder "user" from %APPDATA%/code/ and renamed the user folder into "user-data". Then I started code and the usersettings are not loaded.
The command .\code.exe --user-directory .\data\user-data won't work.
Is this a bug or did I do something wrong?
In portable mode, the --user-directory command linte option is ignored.
From the documentation:
--user-data-dir <dir>
Specifies the directory that user data is kept in, useful when running as root. Has no effect in Portable Mode.
Instead, use the default location of user data for a portable install and copy your user data to that directory (from a previous comment it seems like you've already done so successfuly).
For anyone wishing to use a different user data directory when in portable mode, symlink-ing the user data folder should be a viable option if on a linux-like platform.
(Trivia: this was at first reported as bug, after which the documentation was updated, rather making it a feature.)
You can simply create a folder called data in the root folder with
VS Code.
After the startup, the files with standard settings will be
created in the data folder.
Then you can just copy the settings from the folder %AppData%\Code\User to the folder data\user-data\User.
To migrate already installed extensions, copy the contents of the %HomePath%\.vscode\extensions folder to the data\extensions folder.
I'm programming a client side applications using SharePoint Designer 2013.
I want to change to VSCODE since it supports a lot of extensions for some Javascript library like angular, jQuery. And because of the Chrome/Node.js debugger extension.
But when I try to start any Debugger, I got the error:
Unable to create 'launch.json' file inside the '.vscode' folder (Error: UNKNOWN: unknown error, mkdir '\\servername\DavWWWRoot\sitename\Style Library\.vscode').
I get this error because it's impossible to create a folder in SharePoint where the name starts with dot.
So there's a possibility to change the name of this folder or the file location to any directory in my local computer?
No, it's not possible to move/rename that folder. VS code is a tool that bases project management on folder content. So it is essential that the project settings reside in the folder being managed.
You can move the "extensions" folder, but unfortunately not the argv.json (so the ".vscode" will, at least be recreated on vscode launch)

Just started working with the Zend Framework Zf Tool and I've already come across a problem I've spent hours trying to figure out.
For some reason when I run the Zf show version command I get a ZF ERROR indicating it cant find the Zend Framework a to add it to my php.ini include_directory.
Here is my setup. I'm currently have WAMP installed on my local machine.
c:\wamp
I copied the zf.bat and zf.php files into the servers php directory. The path to the php directory has been added to the path environment variable. I'm pretty sure it works because I run the zf show version command in the console and get a ZF ERROR.
I keep my copy of the Zend Framework inside
c:\wamp\includes
So I added this to the php.ini include_path. include_path = ".;c:\wamp\includes"
I checked that this setting was set correctly by checking phpinfo() function. Which shows
include_path .;c:\wamp\includes .;c:\wamp\includes
So I think I have everything setup correctly. I can't work out what I'm missing.
I also tried setting the ZEND_TOOL_INCLUDE_PATH with no success.
Any help would be appreciated. PS I did check other posts here but none of the suggested
I have worked it out! Finally. The way I have my local wamp setup there is 2 php.ini files I have to edit.
The one that made the different is the php.ini inside the Apache2 directory.

Well im not sure how you downloaded installed the framework but my guess is that you dont have enough of you include path based on the way Zend release packages are constructed. The Zend folder contained in the Zend Framework installation needs its parent folder to be on the include path so typically you would add something like:
c:\wamp\includes\ZF_BASE_DIR\library
This is because the zf package structure looks like:
ZendFramework-VERSION/
README.txt
INSTALL.txt
LICENSE.txt
bin/
library/
If you extracted ZF from the archive you will get a Zend-some_version folder, but the actual ZF is in
"include_path\Zend-some_version\library\Zend", so your include path should point include_path\Zend-some_version\library\
Just to add to what Tjorriemorrie said and to explain in detail how I got my installation on win 7 to work as simply as possible:
Download your preferred Zend package from "http://framework.zend.com/downloads/latest" to "C:\wamp\www\"
unzip your zip file so that you have the extracted Zend folder (with version name) under "C:\wamp\www\".
Rename your folder by removing the version so that you end up with "C:\wamp\www\ZendFramework"
Run a simple php file with phpinfo() in your browser. Note the entries for: "_SERVER["PATH"]" under PHP Variables
"Path" under Environment
"Loaded Configuration File" at the top
"include_path" under Core and
"extension_dir" under Core as well.
"_SERVER["PATH"]" and "Path" must be identical (no brainer)
There should be only one listing for your apache server and that should be the listing under "Loaded Configuration File" but without the "php.ini". So, if your "Loaded Configuration File" is "C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.22\bin\php.ini" you must have "C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.22\bin" in your path and that must be the ONLY reference to an apache server. If you have multiple references to apache servers Windows may pick the wrong one depending on your PATH order and use the wrong php.ini file.
Your "extension_dir" will tell you the version and location of php you are using. It is common to have different php folders lying around such as "C:\php", "C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.3", "C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3....", etc. The extension directory will tell you which one of these php folders ZF will "reference" when it is looking for its library. For example, if your extension directory says "c:/wamp/bin/php/php5.4.3/ext/", you want to focus on "c:/wamp/bin/php/php5.4.3"
Go back to your PATH and a) add the string for this php version and b) remove all the other references to the other php folders
Now that you know your running and primary php and apache folders, shutdown (do not restart), shut down your computer and boot back up (restart does not always let the PATH completely reset.
Go to BOTH php.ini files at a) "C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.x.y\bin" and "C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.3" and find the include_path variable for Windows
Replace the default line, which looks like:
;include_path = ".;c:\php\includes;"
with
include_path = ".;c:\php\includes;C:\wamp\www\ZendFramework\library"
ON BOTH FILES just as Tjorriemorrie notes.
Restart All Services by clicking the wamp icon and selecting said option
At this point my zf tool was working. But, just to be safe, shut down and bootup
