I want to open the iBook file in my device without use the third party apps like iBook App.I have read many articles and suggests use of UIDocumentInterectionController class.
See the SO answer How to open a file on iBooks
When I use UIDocumentInterectionController class with demo app, it launch the iBooks Appliaction. But i want to open the file without third party app.
If I have use itms-books: at the beginning in the url , It's not work in IOS 7.
Please help Me.
If you are opening a aPub file it might work to use some ePub component.
Native iBook files are not support by iOS and there for UIDocumentInterectionController will not be able to display the file and open iBooks.
QuickLook only supports:
iWork documents
Microsoft Office documents (Office ‘97 and newer)
Rich Text Format (RTF) documents
PDF files
Images
Text files whose uniform type identifier (UTI) conforms to the public.text type
Comma-separated value (csv) files

I am trying to import a PDF file from other applications, such as mail, but I'm not sure exactly what I should be looking for. I want my user to be able to tap on the share button in a PDF and my app to be listed there as a place that can accept them, such as "Copy to iBooks"
Any good tutorials? Or suggestions as to what I should look for?
Preferably in Swift
Thanks!
You may use Action Extension for making PDF available in your app
Below i have linked Some Tutorials for Action Extension which is not perfect for your requirement but you check the concept and basic implementation for it
Bookmark from Browser

Official apple doc
You can tell your app which types of documents it will support in the info.plist. A good place to start is Registering the File Types Your App Supports
in the iOS documentation.
In the web page, I have file upload widget. I need to show this web page on UIWebView. Is it possible to browse the file system and upload the pdf, doc, xls files?
Note: this answer was correct when written in 2012 and iOS 5 was current. iOS 6 introduced media uploads and iOS 8 allowed arbitrary file uploads.
No is the short answer. iOS has no user accessible file-system.
At WWDC they announced the ability to upload pictures in iOS6 but there is no publically available information on how that works.
You could do it by interacting directly with the website using the lower level tools (NSURLConnection, etc) and creating your own "open" dialog.
iOS grants the webView no means to browse the file system, so no you will not be able to use the normal upload mechanism in UIWebView
You will have to present some API to your web server that allows you to send images as POST
The answer would be NO, since the webview runs in a different sandbox as compared to native applications.
Also there is no accessible file system mechanism like android for iOS.
Even native application have very limited file access pertaining to only their own and certain user directories like tmp, documents etc.
In my application i need to launch ppt , xls, pdf files. i am sure, iOS Framework support to view PDF files without launching any other application, but is there any way to open ppt , xls doc , if yes please give me any pointer,
I believe, there should be some SDKs available , which can be integrated through an application and can make use of it.
If you just want to view the Office files, have a look at:
Document Interaction Programming Topics for iOS: Quick Look Framework.
Quick Look Framework Reference
Quick Look Framework supports a lot of file formats as you can see in the links above. It is available in iOS 4.0 and later.
You can also use UIWebView to display them. See Using UIWebView to display select document types.
I imported pdf file to iphone device using iTunes. I verified that the pdf file stored in 'root/user/media/books' path. Can i read this file in my program?
Is there any way to read the file? Please Help me.
Thanks in advance.
The SDK doesn’t provide any access to the books (including PDFs) in the user’s media library. For your app to read a PDF that was added via iTunes, it needs to be added to your app specifically, using the iTunes file sharing malarkey (look up “UIFileSharingEnabled” for more information on that). You can file an enhancement request with Apple to try to get them to add support for accessing the user’s book library, but don’t count on it.
Here is a guide on how to view a pdf on the screen. Here is a previous post about how to parse a pdf using CGPDFScanner. Hope that helps!
i'm trying to get the url from a pdf files so that if a user double taps the url on the pdf file, it opens in a new web page.... how can i do it ? any suggestions ? i'm using Xcode 3.2 version.
Apple provide the PDFKit API which you might want to use rather than wrting your own PDF parser.
