Jquery File Upload using cgi - perl

I am new to perl scripting.I am working on drag and drop file upload and using jquery file upload.I'll appreciate if you can help me in installing this perl module and how to use it.
I am trying to follow readme file but while doing "Perl Makefile.pl" some warnings are there
Warning: prerequisite Image::Magick 0 not found.

Warning: prerequisite Net::SSH2 0 not found.
Warning: prerequisite Net::SSH2::SFTP 0 not found.

i am not sure if it is installed or not.
Please help me for implementation.
Thanks,
Manish

It failed or you will likely gets problems anyway, and you will likely need to install the packages mentioned in the errors. You may also need to install some ssl dev lib bits. For example on mine (Linux Mint/Ubuntu), I needed to do the following...
#edit, looks like on yours you need to install Image::Magick as well
sudo cpan JSON::XS
sudo apt-get install libssh2-1-dev
sudo apt-get install libssl-dev
sudo cpan Net::SSH2
Note: the above packages you may want to see if you can find via your package manager rather than CPAN, however the above should steer you in the right direction of the things you probably need.
then back to the README
perl Makefile.PL
make
make test
make install

Build.PL is trying to call a function called prompt but it doesn't exist. This is because they recently switched build systems from ExtUtils::MakeMaker (Makefile.PL) to Module::Build (Build.PL) but didn't fully convert the program. I've reported the bug.
Most people don't notice this because the prompting is only necessary if GD can't configure itself. It does this by looking for the gdlib-config program. If that can't be found, or it doesn't work, it will ask you for your gdlib configuration. It's best to let gdlib-config take care of that. Best way to solve this problem is to make sure gdlib-config is somewhere in your PATH and that gdlib-config --all works.
Otherwise replace all the instances of prompt in Build.PL with Module::Build->prompt and it should work.
I'm not sure about doing this on OSX, but I recently had similar problems with installing CPAN modules on CentOS.
Some prerequisite modules simply wouldn't install properly from CPAN. These modules had RPMs available. After installing some of the prerequisites via yum, I was able to get CPAN to install the modules I needed.
In particular, I had to install Module-Build and Archive-Tar (which brought in a number of other dependency rpm's) using yum.
Hope this helps.

Need help for installing LDAP in unix

I am following the below procedure for installing LDAP in unix
1.tar -xzf perl-ldap-0.43.tar.gz
2.cd perl-ldap-0.43
3.perl MakeFile.PL
I am getting below message
* Checking for Perl dependencies...
We have to reconfigure CPAN.pm due to following uninitialized parameters:
cpan_home, keep_source_where, build_dir, build_cache, scan_cache, index_expire, gzip, tar, unzip, make, pager, makepl_arg, make_arg, make_install_arg, urllist, inhibit_startup_message, ftp_proxy, http_proxy, no_proxy, prerequisites_policy, cache_metadata
CPAN is the world-wide archive of perl resources. It consists of about
100 sites that all replicate the same contents all around the globe.
Many countries have at least one CPAN site already. The resources
found on CPAN are easily accessible with the CPAN.pm module. If you
want to use CPAN.pm, you have to configure it properly.
If you do not want to enter a dialog now, you can answer 'no' to this
question and I'll try to autoconfigure. (Note: you can revisit this
dialog anytime later by typing 'o conf init' at the cpan prompt.)
Are you ready for manual configuration? [yes]
How to install without CPAN and what are the dependent modules required to install Ldap?
Can anyone suggest me the standard process of installation.
Thanks In Advance
I assume that by perl-ldap-0.43.tar.gz you are trying to install Net::LDAP
How to install without CPAN?
CPAN is the recommended way of installing Perl modules. You have to configure it just once, after that if you need to install any Perl module you can just type the below.
$ cpan ModuleName like in your case instead of downloading, untaring and running makefile you can just do:
$ cpan Net::LDAP
What are the dependent modules required to install Ldap?
One more advantage of using CPAN is you don't have to care about dependencies. CPAN will install dependencies automatically if you ask it to do so. Do it by
$ perl -MCPAN -e shell
cpan[1]> o conf prerequisites_policy follow
cpan[2]> o conf commit
exit
Or just use App::cpanminus and run
$ cpanm Net::LDAP it will install the module with all its dependencies.
Also check out Perl LDAP page.
Edit: Based on your answer
You will get some errors like above, you will have to see the error log, check the Module which is missing, then go to CPAN and download that module's tar.gz and then do the same steps as you were doing, like untaring, and running Makefile. You will have to do this unless all of your dependencies are installed.
Can we ignore warnings while installing perl modules?
I have installed ExtUtils-MakeMaker-6.98.tar.gz by ignoring below warnings
Using included version of ExtUtils::Install (1.54) as it is newer than the installed version (1.33).
Using included version of CPAN::Meta::YAML (0.008) because it is not already installed.
Using included version of JSON::PP::Compat5006 (1.09) because it is not already installed.
Using included version of ExtUtils::Manifest (1.60) as it is newer than the installed version (1.46).
Using included version of version (0.88) because it is not already installed.
Using included version of ExtUtils::Command (1.16) as it is newer than the installed version (1.09).
Using included version of CPAN::Meta (2.120351) because it is not already installed.
Using included version of JSON::PP (2.27203) because it is not already installed.
Using included version of File::Temp (0.22) as it is newer than the installed version (0.16).
Using included version of Parse::CPAN::Meta (1.4405) because it is not already installed.
Using included version of File::Copy::Recursive (0.38) because it is not already installed.

Does anyone know an advice?
Many perl modules are available already built and packaged for RHEL and derivatives such as CentOS. In the case of perl-GD, it seems it is available in the CentOS in the base repo even though it is not in the RHEL repo.
However you can still use the Centos repo by adding it to your yum configuration. Create a file /etc/yum.repos.d/cantos.repo containing:
[centos]
name=CentOS $releasever - $basearch
baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos-6/6/os/$basearch/
enabled=0
gpgcheck=0
After which you should be able to install perl-GD
yum install --enablerepo centos perl-GD
It looks as though the current version of perl-GD for centos is 2.44.
If you do need a newer version that that, you will either need to find a 3rd party yum repo which has the later version of libgd available, or compile it from source. In a quick google I could not find the former, so I would recommend you download the latest source package and install that.
You need the package gd-devel then rebuild the GD module.

How to install XML::Parser without expat-devel?

XML::Parser fails to build on a quite fresh 64-bit Debian box. After issuing cpan XML::Parser, cpan fails with lots of errors about Expat.c and Expat.xs:
[...]
Expat.xs:2182: error: ‘CallbackVector’ has no member named ‘skip_until’
Expat.c: In function ‘XS_XML__Parser__Expat_Do_External_Parse’:
Expat.c:2904: error: ‘XML_Parser’ undeclared (first use in this function)

TODDR/XML-Parser-2.41.tar.gz
/usr/bin/make -- NOT OK
Running make test
Can't test without successful make
Running make install
Make had returned bad status, install seems impossible
Message at the start of the output explains that expat-devel is needed for building.
Expat must be installed prior to building XML::Parser and I can't find
it in the standard library directories. Install 'expat-devel' package with your
OS package manager. See 'README'.
But expat-devel is not in Debian repository.
Is it possible to get over this without need to build/install expat from source?
The package you want to install is named libexpat1-dev. You could also just install libxml-parser-perl via apt-get. Or if you really want to install via CPAN try installing the Debian packages dependencies first via apt-get build-dep libxml-parser-perl.
libexpat1-dev contains both libexpat and expat.h, which are both mentioned in the message as well:
If expat is installed, but in a non-standard directory, then use the
following options to Makefile.PL:
EXPATLIBPATH=... To set the directory in which to find libexpat
EXPATINCPATH=... To set the directory in which to find expat.h
Installing libexpat1-dev seems to solve the problem:
$ aptitude install libexpat1-dev
There is always the manual method - to build/install expat from source.
(This example shows installing to an alternative location for XAMPP | LAMPP)
Download from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/expat/files/expat/
tar zxf /[where-ever]/expat-2.1.0.tar.gz -C /tmp
cd /tmp/expat-2.1.0
/opt/lampp/bin/perl ./configure --prefix=/opt/lampp LDFLAGS=-L/opt/lampp/lib
make
make install
http://search.cpan.org - search for and download - XML::Parser
tar zxf /[where-ever]/XML-Parser-2.41.tar.gz -C /tmp
cd /tmp/XML-Parser-2.41
/opt/lampp/bin/perl ./Makefile.PL EXPATLIBPATH=/opt/lampp/lib EXPATINCPATH=/opt/lampp/include
make
make test
make install
Work like a charm in Ubuntu 15.04. The only thing that I need is install Perl XML Parser with:
sudo apt-get install libxml-parser-perl
And following the instructions here, I was able to import successfully all my ratings into Rhythmbox. Now, the only work that I need to do is create again the smart play lists, that is nothing compared with my entire libray ratings.
Today I had the same issue wanting to complile the new GIMP 2.9.4 beta on OSX 10.8 and the aid of homebrew.
First install perl
brew install perl
Then the XML::Parser module by going into the perl shell with
perl -MCPAN -e shell
And inside the shell install XML::Parser by typing
install XML::Parser
Exit shell
exit
Now, verify it has been installed successfully. If everything is ok, you will not see an error.
perl -e "require XML::Parser"
If the ./configure still fails missing XML::Parser, then intltools is not using the perl you have installed. Looking at the script tells me it does the test with $INTLTOOL_PERL -e "require XML::Parser". Trying a echo $INTLTOOL_PERL gave out nothing, so the magic is to set it with
export $INTLTOOL_PERL=perl
Now run ./configure again.
None of the above methods worked for me. I had the right environment variables setup but they were somehow not picked up by cpanm that I use to install perl modules. Expat was also installed.
Here is what I did to overcome the same problem that OP is reporting.
This is very close to what #LadyBuzz suggested.
Download the XML::Parser from cpan.org
Extract the tarball into directory and descend to it.
Open the Makefile.pl and edit the first lines to actually have the absolute paths to both: EXPATLIBPATH and EXPATINCPATH
Save the Makefile.pl, go up one level and create a new tarball with the Makefile.pl that you just edited.
Execute cpanm on the newly created tarball.
This resulted in successful installation of the module.

Why can't I install DBD::mysql so I can use it with Maatkit?

I'm trying to install Maatkit following the maatkit instructions. I can't get past having to install DBD::mysql. "Warning: prerequisite DBD::mysql 1 not found."
When I try to install DBD::mysql from cpan, I get very helpful "make had returned bad status, install seems impossible".
Perl is "v5.8.8 built for darwin-thread-multi-2level", the one that came with OS X. I also tried building from source with same result.
We need more of the error message. Most likely, you are missing the MySQL client development files. I don't know how to install these on OSX. Also see this older post on OSX 10.5.2 , in which some other failures with the mysql client libraries are found.
Possibly post this question with more parts of your error message at perlmonks.org, if stackoverflow doesn't allow for convenient pasting of your make session or rather the last 20 or 10 lines of it.
Some more Googling with site:perlmonks.org also finds this post which has some more details on things to watch out for when installing DBD::MySQL. Depending on how comfortable you feel with the installation, you might want to manually run the tests, supplying a test database and test user or even skip testing the module.
After a bit more googling, this worked for me:
sudo ln -s /usr/local/mysql/lib /usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql
sudo ln -s /usr/local/mysql/include /usr/local/mysql/include/mysql
sudo perl -MCPAN -e 'install Bundle::DBD::mysql'
press enter a bunch of times, then in your maatkit folder:
perl Makefile.PL
sudo make install
and you'll find the mk-* programs in /usr/local/bin/
You will want to install MySQL first. I usually use the binary packages they provide for OS X. The packages do include the headers and MySQL client libraries which DBD::MySQL requires. Once the MySQL package is installed, DBD::MySQL should install without issue.
Here is my output:
$ perl Makefile.PL
Checking if your kit is complete...
Looks good
Warning: prerequisite DBD::mysql 1 not found.
Writing Makefile for maatkit
$ mysql --version
mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.51b, for apple-darwin9.0.0b5 (i686) using readline 5.0
I notice that there are in effect DBD::MySQL packages in the fink repositories. For example:
ayaz#ayazs-macbook$ fink list | grep -i 'dbd-mysql'
dbd-mysql-pm586 3.0008-10 Perl5 Database Interface to MySQL
dbd-mysql-pm588 3.0008-10 Perl5 Database Interface to MySQL
Perhaps installing through fink one of those packages may help alleviate your troubles.
Also, and I cannot be certain of this, you may want to install for MySQL-5.x (if you have that version installed) the mysql15-dev and mysql15-shlibs packages. I installed those through fink thus:
$ sudo fink --use-binary-dist install mysql15-dev
