Export/Importing Expression Engine Entries - import

I'm currently building an Expression Engine site and have got to the stage when I would like to put it on a staging area for the client to see and start adding content too. However, if he starts adding content I'm not sure how to copy that over to my dev area before I do another update. I've had a look round for some import/export plugins but there doesn't seem to be a simple way to do it, the best way I've seen so far is to export it using a statement within this plugin:
http://brandnewbox.co.uk/products/details/export
And import it again using this plugin:
http://brandnewbox.co.uk/products/details/datagrab
Is there a better way?

Nope. That's the only way -- major failing of ExpressionEngine. Control panel used to have an export option built in under 'Tools', but it was removed for reasons unknown!

How to clear the whole AEM dispatcher cache in a cloud manager deployment

I'd like to configure the Adobe Cloud Manager production pipeline to invalidate the whole dispatcher cache. What paths do I have to give at the production pipeline dispatcher invalidation configuration to have that done? Is it possible to give a pattern here that matches everything? The page-invalidate description talks about a path-pattern, but doesn't describe what exactly that means.
We work with statfilelevel=2. It seems the .stat files are very important for that, though the description given here is unfortunately not precise enough, not sure I understand that right.
I tried to configure /content as path - that just touches /mnt/var/www/html/.stat (/mnt/var/www/html is the docroot), which seems to apply to nodes like /* but not like /content/* .
If I give /content/oursite, that touches /mnt/var/www/html/content/.stat , too, but that does seem to apply to nodes like /content/oursite or /content/othersite, but not to pages like /content/oursite/about - for which would /mnt/var/www/html/content/oursite/.stat be relevant, if I understand that right.
Do I seriously have to enumerate a page in each site that has a .stat file, or is there a more sensible way to get everything invalidated? After all, a deployment could easily change the HTML of every page if a component has changed.
If you have ACS commons installed then you can try to use this powerful feature

How to access per project / per preset configuration data in vue-cli 3.x?

I'm looking to create a vue-cli 3.x plugin that generates extra files in the project when invoked and templates these based on configuration info entered by the user.
It's rather easy to collect this information from user prompts but it'd be much nicer if users could put this info into some sort of configuration file and have the plugin read it from there.
I understand vue-cli now uses a vue.config.js file on the project level and ~/.vuerc on a more global (preset) level. However, it doesn't look like my generator function would have access to either one of those files.
"The entire preset" should be passed as the third argument to the function when invoking the plugin with module.exports = (api, options, rootOptions) => {} in ./generator/index.js, rootOptions is undefined.
Sililarly, the use of vue.config.js is discussed in the documentation when talking about service plugins, but there's no mention how to use it in a generator function.
Am I missing something obvious here or is there really no officially sanctioned way to do this? Nothing stops me from reading vue.config.js in my function, but this feels hacky. And I wouldn't even know how to find out which preset was used to create the project.
So your problem is that you can't find ~/.vuerc?
I had the same issue and I found the solution here.
The solution is to use the command line
vue config
to see .vuerc, and then use
vue config --delete presets.yourPresetName
to delete your preset.
As well, if you can't type in your preset name in the terminal because it contains a space or an apostrophe, you can use
vue config --edit
to open .vuerc with a text editor and just edit it there

What do you lose by ejecting a React app that was created using create-react-app?

I'm interested in using Hot Module Replacement with a newly created React app.
Facebook Incubator's create-react-app uses Webpack 2 which can be configured to support HMR, however in order to do so, one needs to "eject" the create-react-app project.
As the documentation points out, this is a "one way" operation and cannot be reversed.
If I'm to do this, I want to know what I might be giving up. I've been unable to locate any documentation that explains the potential drawbacks of ejecting.
The current configuration allows your project to get updates from create-react-app core team. Once you eject you no longer get this.
It's kind of like pulling in bootstrap css via CDN as opposed to downloading the source code and injecting it directly into your project.
If you want more control over your webpack, there are ways to configure/customize it without ejecting:

How to remove id location strategy from Selenium IDE

the problem is: my web application uses ZK, which automatically generates random UUID for each web element.
When I try to record some basic test-case with Selenium IDE, it automatically tries to use these randomly-generated ID's, without even giving me a good alternative.
Is there a way to forbid Selenium IDE to use IDs while locating elements?
Possible workaraounds:
Implement ID generator in ZK: I've thrown away this possibility, because the application GUI is too complex for this task, and ID should be unique for whole sesion, which make this workaraound really hard to implement, when you have same elements on different page.
Find another recording tool: I've only found XLT script developer, which does the work by writing DOM-path using classes (which zk gives plenty) - but sometimes the location strategy gives false path, which is then not reproducible. Any good alternatives here?
You can change locater builder by changing the order of the locater in options>locater builder.
For example if you want to give first preference to css: name drag it on the top so when you start recording it will first give the preference to css name
Hope this will help you

how can I improve iPhone UI Automation?

I was googling a lot in order to find a solution for my problems with UI Automation. I found a post that nice summarizes the issues:
There's no way to run tests from the command line.(...)
There's no way to set up or reset state. (...)
Part of the previous problem is that UI Automation has no concept of discrete tests. (...)
There's no way to programmatically retrieve the results of the test run. (...)
source: https://content.pivotal.io/blog/iphone-ui-automation-tests-a-decent-start
Problem no. 3 can be solved with jasmine (https://github.com/pivotal/jasmine-iphone)
How about other problems? Have there been any improvements introduced since that post (July 20, 2010)?
And one more problem: is it true that the only existing method for selecting a particular UI element is adding an accessibility label in the application source code?
While UI Automation has improved since that post was made, the improvements that I've seen have all been related to reliability rather than new functionality.
He brings up good points about some of the issues with using UI Automation for more serious testing. If you read the comments later on, there's a significant amount of discussion about ways to address these issues.
The topic of running tests from the command line is discussed in this question, where a potential solution is hinted at in the Apple Developer Forums. I've not tried this myself.
You can export the results of a test after it is run, which you could parse offline.
Finally, in regards to your last question, you can address UI elements without assigning them an accessibility label. Many common UIKit controls are accessible by default, so you can already target them by name. Otherwise, you can pick out views from their location in the display hierarchy, like in the following example:
var tableView = mainWindow.tableViews()[0];
As always, if there's something missing from the UI Automation tool that is important to you, file an enhancement request so that it might find its way into the next version of the SDK.
Have you tried IMAT? https://code.intuit.com/sf/sfmain/do/viewProject/projects.ginsu . It uses the native javascript sdk that Apple provides and can be triggered via command line or Instruments.
In response to each of your questions:
There's no way to run tests from the command line.(...)
Apple now provides this. With IMAT, you can kick off tests via command line or via Instruments. Before Apple provided the command line interface, we were using AppleScript to bring up Instruments and then kick off the tests - nasty.
There's no way to set up or reset state. (...)
Check out this state diagram: https://code.intuit.com/sf/wiki/do/viewPage/projects.ginsu/wiki/RecoveringFromTestFailures
Part of the previous problem is that UI Automation has no concept of discrete tests. (...)
Agreed. Both IMAT and tuneup.js (https://github.com/alexvollmer/tuneup_js#readme) allow for this.
There's no way to programmatically retrieve the results of the test run. (...)
Reading the trailing plist file is not trivial. IMAT provides a jUnit like report after a test run by reading the plist file and this is picked up by my CI Tool (Teamcity, Jenkins, CruiseControl)
Check out http://lemonjar.com/blog/?p=69
It talks about how to run UIA from the command line
Try to check the element hierarchy, the table can be placed over a UIScrollView.
var tableV = mainWindowTarget.scrollViews()[0].tableViews()[0].scrollToElementWithName("Name of element inside the cell");
the above script will work even the element is in 12th cell(but the name should be exactly the same as mentioned inside the cell)
