I want to allow customers to pay with paypal without having to create a paypal account. Paypal allows this by setting 2 variables:
SOLUTIONTYPE = 'Sole';
LANDINGPAGE = 'Billing';
This takes the customer to a page where he can enter his details and pay. Creating a paypal account is optional.
Does anybody know a way to not have to ask for delivery address? Just enter the CC details and that is it?
I tried:
NOSHIPPING = 1
REQCONFIRMSHIPPING = 0 (and not setting it at all)
ADDROVERRIDE = all values (and not setting it at all)
Any way of doing this?
I don't think you can do this with Payments Basic and you certainly can't do it inside API Express Checkout (which is ONLY for Paypal accounts). You really need the flexibility of an API to do it. Have you considered Payments Pro or Stripe?

The store I'm working on calcs shipping costs from delivery address before initialising the PayPal transaction, so we need to display the shipping address as entered on our client's site and not the default address held by PayPal for the buyer.
I've tried sending address_override=1 along with the address parameters specified here (https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/paypal-payments-standard/integration-guide/Appx_websitestandard_htmlvariables/) but the [Ship To] displayed is still that of the test account default address.

Looks like you have set NOSHIPPING=0.
Please change your request and set NOSHIPPING=2

Determines whether PayPal displays shipping address fields on the PayPal pages. For digital goods, this field is required, and you must set it to 1. Value is:
0 — PayPal displays the shipping address on the PayPal pages.
1 — PayPal does not display shipping address fields and removes shipping information from the transaction.
2 — If you do not pass the shipping address, PayPal obtains it from the buyer's account profile.

Anyway, as I said we have this all working fine when someone is sending US the money. However, we also have a tool on our site where "customers" can send money to sellers. For this, we currently have the Adaptive Payments system.
My question: How can we use the PayPal Checkout tool to let people send to a given email address, while still getting the callback for the order? (so we can enter it into our system, to track it)
At first I thought this wouldn't be possible - but I've seen this exact same logic on eBay:
Is this something that is publicly available? Or is it just a "PayPal-Ebay" thing? (as they are effectively the same company, so maybe have access to different tools than the general public do)

Using this, you can set the money to be moved to whichever paypal account you like with just the email address.
The PayPal Express Checkout v4 is based on PayPal Rest API which does not support spliting or sending payment to a given PayPal account that is not the API caller. Adaptive payment is the right to do so in PayPal. The PayPal checkout on eBay is only for eBay, the checkout experience may look similar but it's using different product than the Express Checkout v4.
The basic integration lets you set up a button for a merchant using only their client id:

So if you can collect the merchant's client id, you can set up a button to make payments to that merchant.

It's important to remember that Guest Checkout feature for Website Payment Standard and Express Checkout is not guaranteed for every transaction.
To control the risk for merchant, PayPal may close the guest checkout function for some special countries or districts buyers and the buyer will be asked to create a PayPal account.
If possible, please consider using the PayPal Payment PRO product line, where merchants can accept Credit Card directly within their own website.
I'm using the same PayPal merchant account on multiple websites. Currently I'm using old-style PayPal links () with IPN notification.
Now I'd like to start using the PayPal Express API. But at least for a while I would have the old links still online on some sites.
The switch to PayPal Express seems to be per account. Will the old links and IPN continue to work ?
when you implement PayPal express checkout that will not hinder your PayPal links on whatever site you have them on. You can have PayPal Express Checkout with non-hosted button code on the site at the same time; no problem, at least while you're done with your testing, etc.
PayPal Express Checkout can be used across multiple sites; however APIs are only one per account. What this means is that if you want the funds to go to separate accounts for each site then you'll need a new PayPal account per site as you'll have to use different APIs with Express Checkout. That is the UserName/Password/Signature.
However you will have one IPN listener field for each account; so if you don't mind getting pinged for each site using the same IPN listener then you're fine.
You can just create specific prefix # for each site with the products themselves. Like store # 1 = 001Product# | Store # 2 002Product | etc. This will help differentiate IPN pings for each store and help you catalog it better. This is if you decide to use the same APIs for Express Checkout with the same IPN of the account. If so, you will have the PayPal button purchases along with the Express Checkout purchases you all the same data IPN wise and all funds will roll into the same account.

I'm using Payflowlink Pro Express Checkout
Flow:
User select items on merchant site.
User clicks buy and fill shipping address.
Server get rates from USPS and FedEx for selected items.
User selects desired postal service with defined rate.
Server calls paypal to setup transaction with selected shipping rate.
User on paypal where he or she able to change shipping address, but shipping rate is already calculated for address what he inputted on merchant site.
I've found a solution of my problem only for classic API (Instant update callback), but not for Payflow Pro Express Checkout
Like a part of solution, user'll be warned about this situation on merchant site, but.. How do I prevent the PP user to change the shipping address or tell me please if it is possible to use instant update callback for Payflow Pro Express Checkout?
Try using the ADDROVERIDE variable with a value of 1. Doing that tells PayPal to use the shipping address you provided and not the address the buyer has set in their PayPal account.

For some reason I couldn't get NOSHIPPING=1 and ADDROVERIDE=1 to prevent paypal asking for the shipping address; It may be due to me not supplying the address to PayPal in the first place.
However, 'no_shipping=1' does prevents PayPal asking the user for the shipping address (for me at least)
I think there may be two different solutions based on certain scenarios, so if one is not working try the other.
