On Facebook developers under app administration, App on Facebook, there are suppose to be two fields. Canvas URL and Secure Canvas URL. Well, today they are gone.
Were there some changes on Facebook or it's a bug?
Edit:
Seems that they fixed it.
Apparently one has to enable Unity integration now to get these input fields to show.
Edit: It’s a bug, they are working on a fix.
You can circumvent the bug by enabling unity integration, change your canvas url, open web inspector in chrome and manually set disabled's value property to true and enabled to false.
The screenshot shows the correct changes for both, "Disabled" and "Enabled".
Upon save, your new URL is registered.
Easier:
Turn on unity integration
Insert your urls
Turn off unity integration
Save!
No errors, no inspector.

It looks like a recent Chrome update broke this by tightening mixed content (https/http) security policies, and I read that Firefox plans to do this too.
Here's the issue:
Say I set the Secure Canvas URL of my app to https://themediadudes.com/httpstest/
That page contains only a link to Google:
Google
When I view the app on Facebook and click the link, nothing happens. An error appears in the console:
[blocked] The page at https://apps.facebook.com/myappname/ ran insecure
content from http://www.google.com/.
I understand that having insecure scripts/stylesheets etc. on an https page isn't allowed, but a simple link to a different website shouldn't be blocked right?. I assume Facebook is running some scripts which do something with the page before sending the user there? Which causes the error.
If I set the target of the link to _top or _blank it works.
Ideally I want to be able to use a javascript window.location to send the user to this insecure URL, or header('Location: blah'); in PHP. But neither of those work either. And it looks like this is a bigger problem than that if even a simple link to an insecure URL doesn't work.
I thought it may be caused by whatever makes the 'fluid' canvas width and canvas height settings work. But I tried setting both width and height to fixed and the problem still happens.
Does anybody have a solution or workaround, or can anybody at least shed some more light on this?
Thanks
I've been struggling with a similar issue and the answer seems to be that it is not possible at all to reference any non-https resources from within your page tab app. Of course if a google link is all you require then that is simply resolved (as google has a https version of course) but referencing external non-https sites will always turn up this warning/block in chrome
Additionally, I should add that I have noticed that the 'page tab URL' section requires a url to a particular page, whereas the 'canvas URL' needs to link to a directory. This does not seem to be documented and will also give the insecure content message in chrome and prevent the page tab app from loading
I inserted the facebook code where required and absolutely nothing happens or shows up. Using dreamweaver cs6 and in live view or when testing in ANY browser, nothing shows up. It's a blank box. ANy thoughts? I read somewhere that the website must be made into an application of facebook? Is this something?
Specifically, after activating the plugin and properly connecting the plugin to the facebook app, which does work and has been used extensively before hand, comments simply fail to load. There is no comment box, no past comments pull in either (note the app has historical comments already).
In the plugin settings area on the right side of the screen where the comments check box exists, there is a read more link that takes you to the facebook developers page where it discusses adding the facebook comments iframe.
If there is some other location where comment settings might also exist (past the three fields that require the 2 keys and the app name) I could not find them and this was not referenced in the plugin setup.
I am trying to set up a tab with a link to a contact form from my site on Facebook.
I developed the 'app' through the developers site and have set up the page tab.
I've saved the app and it saves it fine (displaying a message saying changes were saved but it might take some time to propagate across all servers.)
Well I waited an hour and I still can't add the tab to my page. I tried locating the app page directly using the namespace, but I get an error message saying:
"[My App] cannot be displayed because the app is misconfigured."
I don't know how it is misconfigured? There are no errors when saving, so I don't know what the issue is or how to go about fixing it. There are no problems with the app that I can see... how am I supposed to know what's wrong with it?
All it is is a page tab. I've put the link to the page tab in, I don't have a secure page (https) so I have left this box blank but I don't know what to do now.
Any ideas how I can find out in what way it is 'misconfigured'?
This error usually occurs when you try to view the App Center page for the app when the app doesn't have the 'App Details' tab settings populated.
So instead of:
https://www.facebook.com/appcenter/APP_NAMESPACE
Make sure you are loading:
https://apps.facebook.com/APP_NAMESPACE
That page will display hints (if you are admin or developer of the app) on what you are missing.
And, adding to the answer already given by #Donn Lee, which pointed to the right way, you must also ADD A PLATFORM in settings, in https://developers.facebook.com/apps/APP-ID/settings/
I just added 3 applications to my page using:
https://www.facebook.com/dialog/pagetab?app_id=[appid]&next=[siteurl]
That all works fine, it redirects me to the [siteurl].
However, the apps don't show up on the page. In "Edit Page" -> "Apps" the apps also aren't visible.
Any idea what causes this?
Thanks!
It could be that the app is in sandbox mode and the account you're checking the "edit page -> apps" section does not have a role within your app, so they can't see it.
The dialog could also be failing. It's fairly recent and I've spotted bugs with it already. Try using http://www.facebook.com/add.php?api_key=APP_ID&pages=1, replacing APP_ID with your app's ID, to see if that's working.
Fixed it!
The problem was that I defined the secure page url, but not the non-secure page url (while we don't use the non-secure page url anymore?)...
I have successfully setup an iFrame based App using the Javascript SDK, and we are trying to enable it on a Page Tab.
It seems Facebook has changed some things lately, because the app breaks when added to the Page Tab. I even went as far as making sure that all external scripts were included in the main index.php file, and that the body tags were taken out.
No, I'm trying to find out if it is even possible to use methods such as the stream.publish within a Profile Tab at all.
It seems like it isn't. As far as I can tell, you can no longer use any social methods on the Profile Tab.

If anyone can confirm or deny this, it would be a huge help. The Facebook docs are just all over the place.
Here's a link to the working App Canvas as it stands now: http://apps.facebook.com/votetesting/
I know that on tab pages, you cannot do any JS until the user clicks on something first. Maybe that is the problem.
