Hi i am developing an iphone application that having a uitableview with uicollectionview,
how to do that with ios 7.
i am just trying to do as following for that i think i need a uicollectionview in a tableviewcell.
if anybody done like this please help me.
or if you have any other idea means please reply me.
this is what i have tried
-(UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *identifier = #"cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:identifier forIndexPath:indexPath];
cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleNone;
Collectionclass *obj = [[Collectionclass alloc] init];
UICollectionViewFlowLayout *layout=[[UICollectionViewFlowLayout alloc] init];
UICollectionView *_collectionView=[[UICollectionView alloc] initWithFrame:self.view.frame collectionViewLayout:layout];
[_collectionView registerClass:[UICollectionViewCell class] forCellWithReuseIdentifier:#"cellIdentifier"];
[_collectionView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor redColor]];
[_collectionView setDataSource:obj];
[_collectionView setDelegate:obj];
[cell addSubview:_collectionView];
return cell;
}
You can try out this gr8 tutorial, even it has source code for your reference. It has worked for me.

At the moment I'm creating an app which has a scrollview and tableview.
I used the code like here: http://johansorensen.com/articles/touches-and-uiscrollview-inside-a-uitableview.html
but cause of the combination of the scrollview and tableview the didSelectrow function doesn't work anymore.
Thanks for helping!
Please notice: answer clear, I'm not the most experienced iOS developer.
In your case UIScrollView hide your cell, so you can not touch cell of UITableView therefor didSelectRowAtIndexPath method is not work.
Write following code form your link for add scrollView with in UITableView
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
return 50.0f;
}
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *cellIdentifier = #"ScrollCell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:cellIdentifier];
if (!cell) {
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:cellIdentifier];
UIScrollView *scroller = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 25, 320, 25)];
scroller.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = NO;
UILabel *contentLabel = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320*4, 25)];
contentLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
contentLabel.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
NSMutableString *str = [[NSMutableString alloc] init];
for (NSUInteger i = 0; i < 100; i++) { [str appendFormat:#"%i ", i]; }
contentLabel.text = str;
[scroller addSubview:contentLabel];
scroller.contentSize = contentLabel.frame.size;
[cell addSubview:scroller];
}
return cell;
}
and then use
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
}
It may be useful for you.
I have a TableView that has UISwitches in it. The switches are slightly off the screen. how do I make the display correctly.
Here is my code that displays the switches.
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath{
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"POICell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier forIndexPath:indexPath];
if(!cell){
//set the cell text to the
cell.textLabel.text = [self.catNames objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]];
NSString *toggle = [self.toggleArray objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]];
//add switch
cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleNone;
UISwitch *switchView = [[UISwitch alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero];
cell.accessoryView = switchView;
if ([toggle isEqualToString: #"OFF"]) {
[switchView setOn:NO animated:NO];
}else{
[switchView setOn:YES animated:NO];
}
[switchView addTarget:self action:#selector(switchChanged: ) forControlEvents:UIControlEventValueChanged];
// Configure the cell...
}
return cell;
}
Rather than adding a UISwitch to the standard cell, I'd create a custom UITableViewCell that contained the text label and the switch.
But after looking at the Apple docs, it seems what you want to achieve is a valid approach.
Table View Programming Guide for iOS
And your code already looks a lot like this SO question: How to create a UITableViewCell with a UISwitch and get the data? So I am not sure why the UISwitch isn't displaying as expected.
I think the position of the default accessoryView can't be moved without a problem, as the TableViewCell will reposizion it in many situations.
So adding it as a subview might be the better idea, instead of trying to "hack" the default behavior.
I made a demo empty app and add a navigation controller with the view
UINavigationController *navBar = [[UINavigationController alloc]initWithRootViewController:objFirstViewControllerViewController];
[self.window addSubview:navBar.view];
After it i add a table view on the first view controller like this .
UITableView* demotableView = [[UITableView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 400) style:UITableViewStylePlain];
demotableView.delegate = self;
demotableView.dataSource = self;
[self.view addSubview:demotableView];
and the delegate function of the table view and main cell for row function like this way
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
NSString *CellIdentifier = #"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
cell.textLabel.text = #"Hello this is sample text";
cell.textLabel.minimumFontSize = 12;
cell.textLabel.adjustsFontSizeToFitWidth = TRUE;
cell.textLabel.font = [UIFont fontWithName:#"Copperplate" size:18];
return cell;
}
But when i scroll on my table or click any cell to go on the next view it just crash and give these two error on clicking and scrolling respectively.
[__NSCFArray tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath:]
[__NSCFDictionary tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:]
I don't understand what is getting wrong this code it have been working with the prior os properly
Any body can help please ?
Here is the code for did select row
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
Second *anotherViewController = [[Second alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil];
[self.navigationController pushViewController:anotherViewController animated:YES];
}
and no of row is this one
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section {
return 15;
}
Actually I misused the ARC what are the changes I made to make the app run successfully actually it was crashing due to memory leak I reference the class in delegate with local object but the it got released when it tried to add the data on it and when table's delegate and datasource try to add the things in the current class it was released and it throw message from those message instances, I was stuck because I was thinking it is happening due to me having taken an empty kind of application but after adding the lines below in the delegate class I got the problem solved.
What I did in the delegate class in the .h file:
FirstViewControllerViewController *objFirstViewControllerViewController;
#property (strong, nonatomic) FirstViewControllerViewController *objFirstViewControllerViewController;
Then my table started behaving properly and all things that I was having problem in.
Replace your code by this and try:
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if(cell == nil)
{
cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
}
cell.textLabel.text = #"Hello this is sample text";
cell.textLabel.minimumFontSize = 12;
cell.textLabel.adjustsFontSizeToFitWidth = TRUE;
cell.textLabel.font = [UIFont fontWithName:#"Copperplate" size:18];
return cell;
}
Hope this helps.
Please try this....
add your table view like this..
productList = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,102, 320, 267) style:UITableViewStylePlain];
productList.delegate = self;
productList.dataSource = self;
productList.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
[self.view addSubview:productList];
and add these methods....
#pragma mark Table view data source
// Customize the number of sections in the table view.
- (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView {
return 1;
}
// Customize the number of rows in the table view.
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section {
return (your row count);
}
// Customize the appearance of table view cells.
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleSubtitle reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier]autorelease];
}
// Configure the cell.
cell.textLabel.text = #"Title";
cell.detailTextLabel.text = formattedString;
cell.detailTextLabel.textColor = [UIColor darkGrayColor];
return cell;
}
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
Second *anotherViewController = [[Second alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil];
[self.navigationController pushViewController:anotherViewController animated:YES];
}
Since you have set demotableView.delegate = self;
you have to implement the tabelView: didSelectRowAtIndexPath: function which solves the crash on selecting(on Click) a Cell.
To resolve the crash of scrolling, you hav to implement
- (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section;
method.
P.S: In the cellForRowAtIndexPath:, all the lines except cell.textLabel.text should be inside
if(cell == nil){
}
and please follow proper maemory management rules
I have a working table view on my iphone app, and am implementing a second view using navigationController.
But when I try to select a cell on the initial view, it does not respond i.e. no highlighting in blue, no selection.
Can anyone suggest what I might have missed, or what is responsible for actually selecting the cell when the user taps it?
OK thanks for your suggestions - still no luck. here is my code:
- (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
static NSString *CellIdentifier = #"Cell";
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier]autorelease];
[cell setSelectionStyle: UITableViewCellSelectionStyleBlue];
UIView *selectionView = [[[UIView alloc] init] autorelease];
selectionView.backgroundColor =[UIColor redColor];
cell.selectedBackgroundView = selectionView;
}
// format text
cell.textLabel.font = [UIFont fontWithName:#"Arial" size:12];
cell.textLabel.text = [tableArray objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
return cell;
}
-(void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
//NSUInteger row = indexPath.row;
//[DetailView selectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:YES];
//UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath.row];
//[cell setSelectionStyle: UITableViewCellSelectionStyleBlue];
DetailView *detailView = [[DetailView alloc] initWithNibName:#"DetailView" bundle:nil];
[self.navigationController pushViewController:detailView animated:YES];
[DetailView release];
}
May be you have done this line of code in cellForRowatIndexPath::
cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleNone;
If yes, then replace it with either of these:
cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleGray;
or
cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleBlue;
Without looking at your code I would say you have to add this line in your cellForRowAtIndexPath delegate method.
[cell setSelectionStyle:UITableViewCellSelectionStyleBlue];
And also you have to implement this delegate method which gets called when you tap on cell of UITableView..
-(void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
{
}
I'm trying to change the custom accessoryView of a uitableviewcell immediately after the user clicks on the cell. How would I do this?
For the record, I'm using Matt Gallagher' custom table view tutorial:
http://cocoawithlove.com/2009/04/easy-custom-uitableview-drawing.html
Download link for source: http://projectswithlove.com/projects/EasyCustomTable.zip
EDIT
Tried this code, but it just changes the accessory AFTER touch-up. Also tried willSelectRowAtIndexPath with same result.
- (NSIndexPath *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
UIImage *indicatorImage = [UIImage imageNamed:#"indicatorSelected.png"];
UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath];
cell.accessoryView = [[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:indicatorImage] autorelease];
return indexPath;
}
EDIT
Problem solved by making the background image of the cell contain the accessories. so the accessory was 'faked' by making it part of the image
Perhaps you can try to reload the cell in willSelectRowAtIndexPath/didSelectRowAtIndexPath:
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
UIImage *indicatorImage = [UIImage imageNamed:#"indicatorSelected.png"];
UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath];
cell.accessoryView = [[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:indicatorImage] autorelease];
[tableView reloadRowsAtIndexPaths:[NSArray arrayWithObjects:indexPath,nil] withRowAnimation:NO];
}
Another recommendation:
didSelectRowAtIndexPath returns void not NSIndexPath.
You could change the accessoryView in the selection method as shown:
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath];
cell.accessoryView = newView;
}
This just grabs the current cell that was selected and then changes the accessory view of it. Your view object would go where newView is.
Use the highlightedImage property of UIImageView:
UIImageView* arrowView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:normalImage];
arrowView.highlightedImage = selectedImage;
cell.accessoryView = arrowView;
[arrowView release];
