I encounter a problem is that I need a formatted grid which contain serious of UISwitch, and my solution is to put those UISwitches on each UILabel .
However, these switches can't operate normally. Any suggestions?
Below is my code:
-(void) drawSummaryColumn : (UILabel *) myLabel :(NSString *) title
{
NSArray *sHeaders = #[NSLocalizedString(#"Tue", nil),
NSLocalizedString(#"Wed", nil),
NSLocalizedString(#"Thu", nil),
NSLocalizedString(#"Fri", nil),
NSLocalizedString(#"Sat", nil),
NSLocalizedString(#"Sun", nil),
NSLocalizedString(#"Total", nil)];
float basizSize = myLabel.frame.size.width;
CGRect r;
CGRect pos;
pos.origin.x =8;
pos.origin.y = 3;
UILabel *firstCol = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero];
r.origin.x =0.5;
r.origin.y =0.5;
r.size = CGSizeMake(120, 40);
firstCol.text =title;
firstCol.font = [ UIFont fontWithName :#"Georgia-Bold" size : 17];
firstCol.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
firstCol.textAlignment = NSTextAlignmentCenter;
firstCol.frame =r ;
[myLabel addSubview:firstCol ];
basizSize -= 120;
basizSize = (float) basizSize / 7;
for (NSString *label in sHeaders)
{
UISwitch *objSwitch = [[UISwitch alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero];
objSwitch.frame = pos;
[objSwitch addTarget:self action:#selector(switchAction:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventValueChanged];
UILabel *columns = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero];
columns.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
columns.textAlignment = NSTextAlignmentCenter;
[columns addSubview:objSwitch];
r.origin.x += r.size.width + 0.5f;
r.size = CGSizeMake(basizSize, 40);
columns.frame =r ;
[myLabel addSubview:columns];
}
}
try
myLabel.userInteractionEnabled = YES;
firstCol.userInteractionEnabled = YES;
columns.userInteractionEnabled = YES;
by default, a label's userInteraction property is false. Hence all it's subviews(including uiswitch) has this property set to FALSE initially. parent view (uilabel) needs to have this property ENABLED so that it's subviews also get enabled for user interaction.

I have created more than one label using this code,
.H file
#interface ViewController : UIViewController
{
NSArray * phraseAry ;
UIView * containerView;
UILabel * oldLabel;
NSMutableArray *dataArray;
}
#property (strong, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIScrollView *myScrollView;
.M file
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
heightValue = 20;
widthValue = 0;
xValue = 5;
yValue = 10;
containerView = [[UIView alloc] init];
for (int i=0; i<phraseAry.count; i++) {
widthValue = [self returnWidth:[phraseAry objectAtIndex:i]];
int newXValue = xValue+widthValue+5;
//NSLog(#"newXValue : %i",newXValue);
if (newXValue > 310) {
yValue +=20;
xValue = 5;
newXValue = xValue+widthValue+5;
UILabel *lbl = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(xValue, yValue, widthValue, heightValue)];
lbl.text = [phraseAry objectAtIndex:i];
[lbl setFont:[UIFont fontWithName:#"Helvetica" size:14.0]];
lbl.tag = i;
lbl.textColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:(92/255.0) green:(109/255.0) blue:(43/255.0) alpha:1];
[containerView addSubview:lbl];
xValue = newXValue;
} else {
UILabel *lbl = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(xValue, yValue, widthValue, heightValue)];
lbl.text = [phraseAry objectAtIndex:i];
[lbl setFont:[UIFont fontWithName:#"Helvetica" size:14.0]];
lbl.tag = i;
lbl.textColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:(92/255.0) green:(109/255.0) blue:(43/255.0) alpha:1];
[containerView addSubview:lbl];
xValue = newXValue;
}
}
containerView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, yValue);
//add code to customize, e.g. polygonView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor];
[self.myScrollView addSubview:containerView];
self.myScrollView.contentSize = containerView.frame.size;
}
And than i set background color and textcolor in specific table using this code
- (void)updateLabelMethod
{
oldLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
UILabel *label = (UILabel *)[containerView viewWithTag:2];
oldLabel = label;
label.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:(98/255.0) green:(147/255.0) blue:(216/255.0) alpha:1];
label.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
containerView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
}
It will update background of label fine but when i use this code to update textcolor it will display error like this
Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[UIView setTextColor:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0xbaa3b30'
Any ways to set textcolor? Plz help.
Start your label tag from 1 instead of 0, because by default the tag value is 0 for all view.
lbl.tag = i+1;
Because
UILabel *label = (UILabel *)[containerView viewWithTag:0];
it will return containerView itself, and UIView not have textColor property :P
[containerView viewWithTag:2];
check container view has only one view that is a label with tag 2.
May be some other view is set with tag 2 and may be causing the issue.
NSLog(#"%#",label);
can give you what the label here gives the output .It should point out an UILabel itself
make use of isKindOfClass: to identify it is a label you are updating
for (UILable *lblTemp in containerView.subviews){
if ([lblTemp isKindOfClass:[UILable class]] && lblTemp.tag==2){
// change the lbl color
break;
}
}
check using this code ;)
i am writing this code to load a plist into 2 textview but i want them to adjust their height according to content size which i have done but i want the second uitextview to start from where the first one ends .. please help
for (int i = 0; i < arrresult.count; i++) {
NSArray *sorteddetail = [self.arrresult sortedArrayUsingFunction:sortint context:NULL];
DuaObject *duaobj2 = [[DuaObject alloc] initWithFilePath:[sorteddetail objectAtIndex:i]];
[duaobj2 loadFile];
CGRect frame;
frame.origin.x = self.scrollmain.frame.size.width * i;
frame.origin.y = 0;
frame.size = self.scrollmain.frame.size;
UITextView *subview = [[UITextView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake((frame.origin.x)+40,(frame.origin.y)+10, 230, 120)];
UITextView *subview2 = [[UITextView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake((frame.origin.x)+40,(frame.origin.y)+160,230, 120)];
subview.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"BG_text.png"]];
subview2.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
[subview setFont:[UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:14]];
[subview2 setFont:[UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:14]];
subview.layer.cornerRadius = 10 ;
subview2.layer.cornerRadius = 10;
NSString *p = [duaobj2 dua_arabic];
NSString *b = [duaobj2 eng_trans];
subview.text = p;
subview2.text = b;
[self.scrollmain addSubview:subview];
[self.scrollmain addSubview:subview2];
subview.editable = NO;
subview2.editable = NO;
subview.textColor = [UIColor blackColor];
subview2.textColor = [UIColor blackColor];
subview.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
subview2.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
scrollmain.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = NO;
CGRect frame1 = subview.frame;
CGRect frame2 = subview2.frame;
frame1.size.height = subview.contentSize.height;
frame2.size.height = subview2.contentSize.height;
subview.frame = frame1;
subview2.frame = frame2;
}
You can use two UIWebView for this. After fetching text data from plist ,redirect it on particular web view. and use [webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:#"document.body.offsetHeight;"] method to get height in pixel. According to height of pixel you can re-adjust web views frame.
Edit:
Look this one : How do I size a UITextView to its content?
It will help you.
Hello all,
I have to add one more view in cell of GMGridView. But i am unable to do this because i have to drag my label from view to view1.
My code is :
- (GMGridViewCell *)GMGridView:(GMGridView *)gridView1 cellForItemAtIndex:(NSInteger)index
{
// set size based on orientation
CGSize size = [self GMGridView:gridView sizeForItemsInInterfaceOrientation:[[UIApplication sharedApplication] statusBarOrientation]];
GMGridViewCell *cell = [gridView dequeueReusableCell];
if (!cell)
{
cell = [[[GMGridViewCell alloc]init]autorelease];
//one view
UIView *view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, size.width, size.height)];
view.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor];
view.layer.masksToBounds = NO;
view.layer.cornerRadius = 2;
cell.contentView = view;
//another view
UIView *view1 = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 80, size.width, size.height)];
view1.backgroundColor = [UIColor yellowColor];
view1.layer.masksToBounds = NO;
view1.layer.cornerRadius = 2;
cell.contentView = view1;
}
[[cell.contentView subviews] makeObjectsPerformSelector:#selector(removeFromSuperview)];
// allocate label
UILabel *label = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:cell.contentView.bounds];
label.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight;
label.text = (NSString *)[self.currentData objectAtIndex:index];
label.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentCenter;
label.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
label.textColor = [UIColor blackColor];
label.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:20];
[cell.contentView addSubview:label];
return cell;
}
height of cell is 200. but still it shows only one view.
Loading Two types of Cell in GMGridView
This is your Solution, it works as charm..
First Do this Exactly
-(void)prepareExhibitor
{
NSInteger spacing = 1.0;
CGRect rect=self.view.frame;
rect.origin=CGPointMake(0, 0);
self.gmGridView = [[GMGridView alloc] initWithFrame:rect];
self.gmGridView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
self.gmGridView.centerGrid=NO;
self.gmGridView.style = GMGridViewStylePush;
self.gmGridView.layoutStrategy = [GMGridViewLayoutStrategyFactory strategyFromType:GMGridViewLayoutHorizontal];
self.gmGridView.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator=FALSE;
self.gmGridView.clipsToBounds=YES;
self.gmGridView.itemSpacing = spacing;
self.gmGridView.minEdgeInsets = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0,30, 0, 0);
[self.viewNewsHeadline addSubview:self.gmGridView];
self.gmGridView.actionDelegate = self;
self.gmGridView.dataSource = self;
self.gmGridView.mainSuperView = self.superView;
}
Then Write this accordingly as per your Code
- (GMGridViewCell *)GMGridView:(GMGridView *)gridView cellForItemAtIndex:(NSInteger)index
{
GMGridViewCell *cell = [gridView dequeueReusableCell];
NewsCell_iPad *view;
UIViewController *controller;
if (!cell)
{
// [self removeGrid];
cell = [[GMGridViewCell alloc] init];
if(index%2==0)
{
controller=[[UIViewController alloc] initWithNibName:#"NewsCellTypeA_iPad" bundle:nil];
}
else
{
controller=[[UIViewController alloc] initWithNibName:#"NewsCellTypeB_iPad" bundle:nil];
}
if(!view)
{
view=(NewsCell_iPad *)controller.view;
}
cell.layer.masksToBounds = NO;
cell.contentView = view;
}
NewsCell_iPad *newsView=(NewsCell_iPad *)cell.contentView;
newsView.news=[self.arrNews objectAtIndex:index];
[self hideGradientBackground:newsView.webViewDetailedNews];
[newsView downloadImage];
[newsView loadWebView];
// NSLog(#"cell=%d ,arr image index=%#",index,[self.arrNews objectAtIndex:index]);
return cell;
}
in this block of code my uiimageview always get nil.as a result the code crashes.i can t figure out where is the uiimageview getting nil.in this code self refers to uitableviewcell.
the code crashes in the code where i am inserting the imageview to the array.is this a problem of memory retain?

NSLog(#"%# myArray ",myArray);

}
return;
if(self==nil)
{
what is this.. I think it should be
if(self!=nil)
{
and if it is fine then why are you adding subview to a nill
if(self==nil)
{
//your code .....
//and then you are adding sub view to a nil which is useless
[self addSubview:message];
}
The issue could be in the below line of code.
profileImageView = (UIImageView *)[self.contentView viewWithTag:1];
May be you don't have the an view with tag id 1;
plz check against nil after getting the view from viewWithTag.
if([self.contentView viewWithTag:1] != nil)
{
profileImageView = (UIImageView *)[self.contentView viewWithTag:1];
}
Is there a way to rotate an UIPickerView?
//example code placed in view did Load
[super viewDidLoad];
myPicker.delegate = self;
myPicker.dataSource = self;
myPicker.showsSelectionIndicator =YES;
myPicker.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor];
CGAffineTransform rotate = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(3.14/2);
//original settings
//rotate = CGAffineTransformScale(rotate, 0.1, 0.8);
rotate = CGAffineTransformScale(rotate, 0.2, 1.65);
[self.myPicker setTransform:rotate];
NSMutableArray *array = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects:#"155", #"165", #"175",
#"185", #"195", #"205", #"215", nil];
self.pickerData = array;
[array release];
NSInteger TOTALITEM = [pickerData count];
UILabel *theview[TOTALITEM-1]; // + 1 for the nil
for (int i=1;i<=TOTALITEM-1;i++) {
theview[i] = [[UILabel alloc] init];
theview[i].text = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d",i];
theview[i].textColor = [UIColor blackColor];
theview[i].frame = CGRectMake(0,0, 25, 25);
theview[i].backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
theview[i].textAlignment = UITextAlignmentCenter;
theview[i].shadowColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
theview[i].shadowOffset = CGSizeMake(-1,-1);
theview[i].adjustsFontSizeToFitWidth = NO;
UIFont *myFont = [UIFont fontWithName:#"Helvetica" size:30];
[theview[i] setFont:myFont];
}
CGAffineTransform rotateItem = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(-3.14/2);
rotateItem = CGAffineTransformScale(rotateItem, .5, 5);
for (int j=1;j<=TOTALITEM-1;j++) {
theview[j].transform = rotateItem;
}
pickerData = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
for (int j=1;j<=TOTALITEM-1;j++) {
[pickerData addObject:theview[j]];
}
You can rotate a UIPickerView by applying a transform to a view containing it, much like I suggest in my answer here for scaling the picker.
Are you looking for - (void)selectRow:(NSInteger)row inComponent:(NSInteger)component animated:(BOOL)animated?
Or do you mean that you want to rotate the whole control 90 degrees, thus having wheels that spin to the left and right?
