I am trying to generate Model based on MS SQL Server Analysis Services. To do so I am following these steps:
Select a Datasource (that points to Analysis services database) from
Report Manager
Click on "Generate Model"
Enter Name, Description and select location for the Model
Click on "OK"
Instead of Model I am getting below error message:
The ID property for the Role "xxxxxxxx" has a local name that exceeds the maximum length of 250 characters. (IDLocalNameLengthExceeded) Get Online Help
Where "xxxxxxxx" is my cube name.
I am sure that this SSAS database is working fine without any issue and also I have checked name/id of the cube that doesn't have more than 250 characters but I am not able to generate Model, please any one can suggest a solution for this? I am using SQL Server 2008R2(RTM) - 10.50.1600.1 (Intel x86)
The name of cubes, dimensions ect should be short if we want to create a Report Model from SSAS database. The most important thing to note here is - the length of name does not mean the length of name of individual cubes, dimensions only. It also include the qualified path e.g. "yourcube/yourdimension", so when we talk about the length it is length of full qualified name.

I would like to be upfront. I am by no means an expert or even really all that technologically savy. However, I inherited a training system where the only way to find out if someone was current was to dig through physical file cabinets and try to find the hard copy. I have put together a basic access database to try and improve the situation. It is working okay, but I've run into a problem.
Previously, most training occurred in small enough batches that data entry is not a problem. (No more than 15-20 entries at any one time). However, regulatory changes now mandate the company put everyone through a mandated training course annually. This means all information about the training will be identical, except for the employee ID associated with the record.
Right now I can manually enter this training just like any other, but I have to perform this nearly identical data entry for each of the several hundred employees in the company.
I would like to be able to enter the pertinent details about the training and then have access create an training record for each employee.
The current form asks the user:
Who is the employee that was trained? (The appropriate employee ID # is entered)
Which subject was trained on? (the appropriate selection is made via combo box)
On what date was the training completed? Date picker is used to fill.
What is the file path to the scanned training certificate? (The majority of this field is prepopulated so only the actual file name needs to be typed. For the specific training in question all the employees of the company will be included in the same scanned pdf. Subsequently, this filed will be identical for all employees.)
The fields on the current form are:
txtEmpID – Text box, where employee ID # is entered. Corresponds to
field "empID"
cboTask – Combo box, where the appropriate training
subject is selected. Corresponds to field "reqID"
txtDate – Text box, the date the training was completed.
Corresponds to field "trngDate"
txtFilePath – Text box, file path to the scanned pdf of the physical
training record. Corresponds to field "trngLocat"
I would like to be able to fill in the information for 2-4 but then have access create a record, for each employee in my employees table, where all the data from 2-4 is identical.
Is this possible?
Pertinent Tables:
tblEmployees – keyed on field “empID” which is the employee number.
tblTrngSubjects - Keyed on field "reqID" which is autonumber.
tblTrngRec – keyed on field “recordID” which is autonumber. Relates
to tblEmployees through field “empID”. Relates to tblTrngSubjects
through field "reqID".
tblTrngRec is the table in which the records will be stored.

I am using Access 2016.
I once had a copy of Access 2010 the missing manual…but that was in 2010. It has been almost a decade since I did anything more advanced than “docmd.openform”
I greatly appreciate any and all advice. Thanks, in advance.
I admit I haven't worked with access in quite some time, so some of the syntax might be slightly off. You need to know a list of employee IDs that were in that training.
Insert into tblTrngRec(empID,ReqID,txtDate,txtFilePath)
select empID
,25 'You need to enter this manually
,"6/9/2020" 'You need to enter this manually
,"Enter your file path"
from tblEmployees
where EmpID IN (enter a comma delimited list of employee IDs)
I would like to load my trucks on specific docks like loading truck A on dock 50. After I insert population loaded from database I get the error that it doesn't find my storages and it cant't calculate the space of my palletracks/ docks. Could it be that whenever I insert a population via database that the program ignore the other parameters of the agent like my storage? Before I insert the database, it works fine.
error
populationloadDocks
resourcepool_dockloading
Make sure to load all parameters from the dbase table in the properties of your agent population under "Agent parameter mapping" (visible in your second screenshot).
The AnyLogic help explains more on how this works but you essentially tell your agents which parameters should be filled from which table column.
I'm using MongoDB connected to Tableau using ODBC drivers..
I have connected to databases on Mongo.. Now i want to replace the data source with other databases.. b
I have query from customer saying that they want to see the same visualizations even after changing the data source to other which have json with same data.
Replacing a data source is rather simple. Add the query to the workbook - create an extract if needed - then return to a worksheet. Right-click on the data source's name and select "Replace data source...". This will give you a menu from which you choose which data source is to be used instead.

I am following the standard steps to create date dimension in SSAS here-
The generate schema option fails! this is the message from schema generation wizard
create failed for table myusername.dimdate
I think the problem is that the table should be created for a different schema. If below is the selected option for schema generation -
Subject Area
Data source view: ABC PROJ
**Schema: ABC_PROJ(WXY1230)**
Data will be preserved
Time table will be populated
Shouldn't the Dimdate table be created ABC_PROF(WXY1230).Dimdate and not under myusername.DimDate?
Any idea what could be missing? I have been struggling with this for hours now.
Thanks for any help.
I think that is an unfortunate bug in the SSAS generated date dimension. When you generate the dimension you are using your Windows credentials and SSAS uses the default schema for the user context it was provided. I believe your user has a default schema of myusername on that database, which is what is causing the date dimesion to be created there.
If you create the dimension, you have the option to generate the schema now or generate it later. If you choose to generate it later and go through the Schema Generation Wizard, you eventually see a screen that shows the Owning Schema.
. There is no mechanism to change it even though you can see it (At least not in SSDT. I don't have BIDS on any of my machines). You are not the only person to run into this issue.
So you have a few options as a workaround:
Use a different account that has a default schema that is the correct schema where you want to place your date table.
Create the table under your default user and populate it. Then alter the table in SQL Server to move it to the correct schema. Then update your DSV.
Don't use SSAS to generate your date dimension. There are plenty of scripts out there that create great date dimensions. Here's an example. This means you will need to create the dimension and build the hierarchy yourself, but it's not that much work compared to the time you've spent trying to fix this issue.
I have a Crystal template that I am modifying in developer because we are changing the datasource from an Access file to our Oracle DB. I created a database field that accurately connects to Oracle and added a select statement that because pulls a field from a particular table
select s.field from table s;
On the right hand side, under database fields, I see my command and can right click and browse the data, which right now returns two values.
I also made a formula field using an Azalea barcode function that calls the values (I think, this is where stuff is going wrong, I guess)
The formula field is
BarcodeC39ASCII({Command.field})
So this should take the data and format it into the barcode, except when I use print preview or print out the report, no data is merged.
I've tested this by creating a new formula field with just the Command.field, and still no data is merged. I imagine there is something really obvious that I am missing and would appreciate any input.
So unless I misunderstood your question, you are changing your datasource from Access DB to Oracle DB, correct? Assuming that the database structure remains the same then all you should need to do is go into Database -> Set Datasource Location and set the datasource location from the Access DB to the Oracle DB and your existing report should work as it did. You might have to map some fields, but that should be the extend of it. Is that what you are trying to do?
