I'm facing a strange issue with Salat and this happens especially when I run my Play web application.

What is the reason for this strange error?

I ran into the same issue with Play 2.4.x. But sparkr's solution wasn't enough, because Play keeps creating new classloaders on each code change. The following hack (in Globals.scala) seems to fix the issue:

After examining the dependencies graph (https://github.com/jrudolph/sbt-dependency-graph), What ended up working for me is to exclude play-iteratees from ReactiveMongo.
In my build.sbt, change the import to:

I figured out what the problem was. Pay close attention to the following line:
httpClientPolicy.setConnectionTimeout(mySoapClientConfig.requestTimeout.toSeconds)
httpClientPolicy.setReceiveTimeout(mySoapClientConfig.requestTimeout.toSeconds)
The setXXXTimeout takes a long in millis and what I have been passing in was 4 seconds which was understood as 4 millis, which was causing the read time outs!

Anorm, Play, Scala and Postgresql: Dynamic SQL clause not working

I have a problem with using dynamic filter on an SQL query on Postgres, I am using Scala, Anorm and the Play framework. The following query works fine:

I get the following error:

When I change the field2 clause this way:
AND ({field2} IS NULL OR field2 = {field2})
I get:
[PSQLException: ERROR: could not determine data type of parameter $3]
So the problem seems to be specifically on the {field2} IS NULL.
According to this answer https://stackoverflow.com/a/18308023, it should be working, I don't see where I am going wrong, or maybe it is a specific Postgres issue.
EDIT:
Also, when I set the debug on, I can see the request being sent as:

There is a issue with such undefined value (None) which will be fixed.
For now you can replace the None with null.asInstanceOf[String].

The com.samza.adapter.JobFactory class does exist and is in the correct directory.

I've come across a similar problem before. Try to run the app using activator ui. If you are running on command line, try to run using activator start instead of activator run.
