I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit
I'm trying to install the Nodeclipse plugin for eclipse, but I just can't get it to work (I tried yesterday as well).
error msg:
Missing requirement: Nodeclipse 0.9.0.201401030549 (org.nodeclipse.ui 0.9.0.201401030549) requires 'package org.nodeclipse.bundle.coffee 0.0.0' but it could not be found
I'm wondering if I messed up my Eclipse/Node/Nodeclipse setup some how?
this is what I did.
Eclipse I downloaded the latest tarbal from eclipse.org (64-bit kepler standard)
Then simply uncompressed it.
Installed openJDK (sudo apt-get)
I added in both CDT and Aptana without issue.
Downloaded latest Node from nodejs.org
Unzipped,
./configure
make
sudo make install
Tried to do:
npm install nodeclipse
but I didn't have permissions, so I adjusted them, sudo chown ...
npm install nodeclipse
npm install express
npm install coffee-script.
But I still cannot get the Nodeclipse plugin
Any ideas?
If you are trying to install 0.9.0, it looks like it had a bug that is resolved in 0.9.05:

I came across an issue where I need to install a specific version of a plugin in Grafana, I tried command grafana-cli plugins install jdbranham-diagram-panel --version=1.6.1 which didn't work. I am trying to install jdbranham-diagram-panel plugin's 1.6.1 version in my system.
Following command should do the trick.
grafana-cli plugins install jdbranham-diagram-panel 1.6.1
In above command I needed to install plugin named jdbranham-diagram-panel with version 1.6.1 so we can use above command to do so.
Basically syntax of installing any plugin with specific version will become like:
grafana-cli plugins install plugin_name plugin_version
I want to install Yeoman, Grunt and bower to my node project.
I made a node project in Eclipse (using the nodeclipse plugin) and navigated to the project folder
(which is H:\Eclipse Workspace\YoTest) in cmd and typed in:
npm install yo -g
npm install generator-webapp -g
yo webapp
selected: Sass (with compass), in cmd
And then typed:
grunt serve
to run the webapp.
I get the following error message:
Done, without errors.
Warning: Running "compass:server" (compass) task
Warnin: You need to have Ruby and Compass installed and in your system PATH for
this task to work. More info: https://github.com/gruntjs/grunt-contrib-compass

How do I fix this so that I can run my node project with grunt?
PS: I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the problem, but I also get the following errors on line 1-27 in my package.json:

The warning seems to say it all.
If you're on OS X or Linux you probably already have Ruby installed; test with ruby -v in your terminal. When you've confirmed you have Ruby installed, run gem update --system && gem install compass to install Compass and Sass.
If that doesn't help, then install the grunt-contrib-compass package with the instructions at https://github.com/gruntjs/grunt-contrib-compass
I struggled for hours with this same error message when running a gulp watch, and despite installing, reinstalling, rebooting, it would still show up.
Got it working by uninstalling all my packages :
sudo gem uninstall bundler bundle compass sass compass-core compass-import-once
And installing bundle only
sudo gem install bundle bundler
And then run the command that magically installed everything I needed :
$ bundle

Now, don't ask me why, but it all works :-)
Hope that can help anybody out there, I really struggled on this one ...
Just need to write on console -> (or sudo )gem install compass ,because the npm command wouldn´t do anything
For Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)
Search for installed ruby version
ruby -v.
If present
update gems using sudo gem update --system
else install rvm with ruby using
\curl -sSL https://get.rvm.io | bash -s stable --ruby
Then install the Xcode Command Line Tools
xcode-select --install .
This will take some time.
Now install compass using sudo gem install compass.
For me this worked like a charm.
Ruby and Ruby Gems ought to be installed which in turn facilitate the installation of Sass and compass. Check this out http://hecktechsolutions.blogspot.in/2015/03/installation-of-gems-compass-and-sass.html
i've installed the Momentics IDE 2.0 for blackberry but something's wrong. i'm using debian x64, and when i try to run it, i get an error that says:

so on the blackberry page it says to install (ia32-libs) kind of librairies. i'm not able to install them because i get a message saying that:
some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable

The following information may help to resolve the situation:

how can i fix this?
I'm not sure how you got there coz in my case I was blocked from running java due to the ia32-libs.
In short, this is how I installed momentics-2.0 on my ubuntu 13.10 x86_64.
Add this line to the bottom of your /etc/apt/sources.list (Not sure if still need this yet):
deb http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu raring main universe
Installed these libs as a replacement of ia32-libs:
ywu#ywu-HP-8100:/install$ sudo apt-get install lib32z1 lib32ncurses5 lib32bz2-1.0
Fix the missing libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0:
ywu#ywu-HP-8100:/install$ sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-0:i386
Fix the missing libXtst.so.6:
ywu#ywu-HP-8100:/install$ sudo apt-get install libxtst6:i386
Install momentics-2.0:
ywu#ywu-HP-8100:/install$ sudo ./momentics-2.0-201310251201-linux.gtk.x86.bin
Good luck!

jdk1.7.0_06 <-- I'm surprised about this one, but it doesn't have libjvm nor libhpi
java-1.7.0
java-openjdk
java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9.x86_64

jre-gcj
And these do:
Desired Versions (that I know of, there could be more):
jdk1.6.0_34-x86
jdk1.5.0_22-x86
java-6-openjdk
Can someone help me install jdk1.6 or java-6-openjdk please?
The problem here is that you cannot use the Oracle rpm to install JDK 7 when you already have the Oracle JDK 6 as it tries to install the /etc/init.d/jexec script which is already installed and required for JDK 6.
I would advise sticking to the tarball or self extracting *.bin and using JAVA_HOME if you are going to use the Oracle distribution as it does not have this problem and you will probably not need jexec anyway.
In general I would suggest that you install the Oracle JDK not the OpenJDK. Otherwise you might risk running into some issues. I always found problems of all sorts and sizes with OpenJDK that I don't even bother trying it any more.
Download the JDK RPM from here and follow the usual instructions. Its usually very straightforward and without problems.
Full detailed instructions including how to install it here.
Make sure you choose the right version you need (JDK 1.7 or JDK 1.6, dont mix) because from your question you seem to have a confusion of library versions from 1.5 to 1.7.
And another thing, uninstall whatever you have installed already before installing a fresh one to avoid conflicts.
Check my answer here Transaction check error when installing Sun JDK 7
Basically you may use rpm --force to install one JDK on top of the other. This scenario is completely valid specially when you have to develop for different JAVA versions.
Just faced the same issue. I was not comfortable using --force command; did not want to risk messing-up the existing Java that came installed at system setup.
I ended up doing the following and running the app server with a different version of Java under a different user ID.
downloaded the Java tar.gz version and uncompressed:
tar -zxvf jdk-7u45-linux-x64.gz
Created the directory:
mkdir /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_45
Copied the contents to the new directory manually:
cp -r /.../jdk1.7.0_45/* /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_45
Set the java_home under the user ID home directory in .bashrc and .bash_profile files:
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.7.0_45
export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/sfw/lib/gcc:/usr/sfw/bin
sudo rpm -i jdk-11.0.9_linux-x64_bin.rpm
or whatever package you are trying to install
I'm having trouble figuring out a way to have both Eclipse and ant1.8 installed through the package manager on Ubuntu 10.04.
With ant1.8 installed, trying to install eclipse yields:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
eclipse: Depends: eclipse-jdt but it is not going to be installed
Depends: eclipse-pde but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages
Going down the dependency tree, I arrive at:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
eclipse-platform: Depends: ant (>= 1.7.1)
E: Broken packages
But, installing ant requires the removal of ant1.8.
Is there a way to resolve this issue without installing ant1.8 or or eclipse outside of the package manager?
Thanks!
Do you have any reason to keep ant 1.8? If not, remove it first and then try the same again after you install ant 1.7.1.
I personally never install any java development tools from repository, because it gives you all kind of problems, such as version incompatibility, difficulties to upgrade etc. Most of the java tools, IDEs, app servers are available for download in zip archives, so you just have to unzip it, set up environment variables and you're ready to go!
