Set Warnings To Be Displayed Globally In SugarCRM - sugarcrm

I want to set a message/warning which will be seen globally. How can I do this in an upgrade-safe manner? Right now I have implemented it as such:
/modules/Administration/DisplayWarnings.php
if(!empty($GLOBALS['sugar_config']['contact_name'])) {
displayAdminError("My notification message goes here...");
}

Replacing CoreNFC UI in readerSession?

Is it possible to open an NFCReaderSession or NFCNDEFReaderSession, making tags readable in app using CoreNFC framework WITHOUT opening the bottom modal session?
I want to use the functionality of CoreNFC but I would essentially like to design the user interface differently.
So instead of this...
self.nfcSession = NFCNDEFReaderSession.init(delegate: self, queue: nil, invalidateAfterFirstRead: false)
self.nfcSession?.alertMessage = "message"
self.nfcSession?.begin()
I would like to inherit the functionality without the UI that opens with this self.nfcSession?.begin()
Here is an image of an obvious example of what I would like to happen. When a user opens a view, I would like the session to begin without the clunky bottom modal.
Unfortunately that is not possible. You can set a message or an alert message. That's all.

When does converse.js chatBoxInitialized event actually emit?

I'm trying to configure a few settings in a converse.js chatbox (title, removing avatar, chatbox width) PRIOR to it "rendering" and displaying the chatbox.
While not explicitly saying so, I had figured that the "chatBoxInitialized" event would fire AFTER the chatbox object was created, but prior to rendering and displaying.
What I'm finding is that when my handler function for that event is called, the chatbox is already displayed, so clearly my understanding of "chatboxinitialized" is incomplete. Inside the handler, I have used available methods in chatbox object such as
chatbox.setChatBoxWidth(350);
chatbox.model.attributes.fullname = data;
to set chatbox attributes but while the statements execute and have a momentary effect, as soon as the handler function completes, something is setting those values back, and the box "re-renders" and displays as it was before my function ran.
Is there a more appropriate event to register for so these values can be set prior to chatbox rendering? Are there more appropriate "chatbox set functions" that can be used to properly set such things as size, and turn off avatars, rather than just reaching into DOM directly and manipulating after the fact?
Any help would be appreciated.
If you look at the code, you'll see that chatBoxInitialized gets triggered after the chatbox's HTML has already been rendered.
See here: https://github.com/jcbrand/converse.js/blob/393bbe020e45ccd2abe10683117a8f854dea9145/src/converse-chatview.js#L281
Looking at the code, I don't see any event that's triggered after the chatbox has been created, but before it's rendered.
However, in the current master branch of converse.js (to be released soon), you can set the fullname after the chatbox has been created, and it will then appear properly.
You're however setting it wrong. With Backbone.js you must use get and set and not the attributes property.
So this:
chatbox.model.attributes.fullname = data;
must be changed to this:
chatbox.model.set({'fullname': data});
Concerning setting the chatbox width, I think the best way to do that is to set the relevant Sass variable, see here:
https://github.com/jcbrand/converse.js/blob/393bbe020e45ccd2abe10683117a8f854dea9145/sass/converse/_variables.scss#L111
Then run make css to generate new CSS.

How can I use mnemonics on JavaFX 8 Alerts

I would like to be able to add accelerator keys for the buttons that are provided as a part of the Alert Dialog Controls included with JavaFX.
I am unsure if this is possible using the standard alert types ERROR, INFORMATION, CONFIRMATION, WARNING?
I created my own login window - which doesn't use an Alert structure and it works as follows:
When the stage opens up.
Then when the user hits the "ALT" key:
I would like the ability to "Hot Key" the buttons on the Alerts in the system. However, I am unsure if I can use the standard alerts, or if I need to create my own, and if so, how should I do that.
I really would like to use the Dialogs natively, if at all possible.
Thanks.
As far as I understood your question, I think it isn't possible without some extra code.
Looking at the code of OpenJFX the labels of the buttons are localized and fixed.
You might just want to create some buttons on your own by using the apropiate constructor which takes some buttons where you can override the existing ones.
EDIT: after rethinking everything, I tried to recreate your problem. You can see that project on GitHub..
This is the special code:
public void showCustomizedAlertWindow() {
Alert a = new Alert(AlertType.CONFIRMATION, "some content text", ButtonType.OK, ButtonType.CANCEL, ButtonType.FINISH);
((Button) a.getDialogPane().lookupButton(ButtonType.FINISH)).setText("_finished");
a.show();
}
But be aware, you are removing localization-support of that buttons.

Set focus to an Input in a gwtbootstrap3 Modal

I want to set the focus to a certain field (org.gwtbootstrap3.client.ui.Input) in a dialog (org.gwtbootstrap3.client.ui.Modal) before the dialog shows up. The use case seem quite common, if you have a dialog with a single field like the Upload text or Add feed dialogs right here. However I could not figure out how to set the focus to this particular gwtbootstrap3 component.
The Input component does have a setFocus(true) method. I assumed that setting the focus before showing the dialog would not work, which it doesn't. So the logical solution is to put the method call inside a ScheduledCommand. Like this:
Scheduler.get().scheduleDeferred(new ScheduledCommand() {
#Override
public void execute() {
textField.setFocus(true);
}
});
That usually works with GWT standard components, but does not seem to help in this case. I found a way to get notified once the dialog is shown through a ModalShowHandler. Like this:
modal.addShowHandler(new ModalShowHandler() {
#Override
public void onShow(ModalShowEvent evt) {
textField.setFocus(true);
}
});
I even tried to combine both, adding a deferred call to the handle. No luck. Any ideas?
You should be listening on the ModalShownEvent (note: Shown, not Show).
ModalShowEvent is fired when the modal is requested (for example, programmatically) to be shown.
ModalShownEvent is fired when the modal is actually shown.
This somewhat confusing naming is based on the events of the native Bootstrap Modal's events: show.bs.modal and shown.bs.modal.
ModalShownEvent combined with the usual Scheduler#scheduleDeferred should do the trick.

NetBeans - Programmatically Remove NotificationDisplayer Notifications

The NetBeans API provides the org.openide.awt.NotificationDisplayer class to create and show clickable notifications in the main status line. For example,
NotificationDisplayer.notify(title, icon, detailsText, detailsAction);
The user can dismiss a notification by clicking on the X; however, I would like to programmatically clear the notifications. How can I accomplish this?
The solution I end up with was to maintain a reference to the Notification object returned by the NotificationDisplayer.notify() method. The object provides a clear() method to force removal from the status line.
