I'm making a web app in eclipse, when i make the changes they are not reflecting on my next run.
I'm doing the below.
save changes-> Stop Server-> start server-> run program
but the error appeared before is up again.
I use Kepler 32-bit. please let me know how i can fix this.

You need to build your app after saving. If you don't have auto build on then your changes will not be reflected also make sure you publish to server too. Although Since you are restarting the server that may not be needed.

I'm having a hard time using eclipse because of the following issue.
It goes like this. I'll code and try to run it. Then, it will throw some errors (of any kind). And so, after I have changed a part of the code, comment out which codes I suspect makes the error, or delete something, I then restart the websphere application server in order to republish my work. Next is to test my work using SoapUI then all of a sudden eclipse throws an error which is the same as before. I've tried to search in here answers to this questions but it involves codes which don't need in my project and also answers that I can't understand well (since I am very new to programming). However, I have found a way to resolve this but it's very inconvenient. To be able for eclipse to detect changes in the src folder, I should restart eclipse after editing my codes then remove my project in the server, start the server and then publish my work in websphere all over again. It solves my problem but I do all of these stuff every now and then even if I only comment out a single line in the code. What I want is to avoid doing this process of resolving the issue since it consumes so much of my time whenever I republish the project in the server.
Can somebody help me with this? Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks a lot!
It is a bit strange that you need to restart eclipse. The normal way would be to just re run your application server.
Try only he 3 second steps you mentioned (remove my project in the server, start the server and then publish my work in websphere) and if that works try again without removing the project. Just restart the servers.
And let us know if that worked!
I have deployed my application on WAS 8 as debug. The server status is [Debugging, Synchronized]. When I put breakpoints and start the application, it doesn't stop at the breakpoints. I don't see the debugger thread start either.
I am using RAD 8.0.4 and JDK 1.6.0_31. I have tried cleaning the project and re-deploying but it still doesn't work.
I was able to get it working via a complete clean install of my app. Then removing it from the server via add remove. Clearing cache from the websphere/profiles/myprofile directory. and clearing all bits of my app from the profiles folder via a search for its containing file aka (myproject-folder). Then re-installed the app via add remove on the server and it worked for me.
Best guess I have is something was actually out of sync even though the server though everything was A okay.
WebSphere is a PITA and seems to get out of state too easily.
I'd restart the server and perhaps do a clean on the server (right click on the server, click "Clean...". If that doesn't work, you'll have to take a careful look at the location of your break points. They might not be on code that's getting executed. Place a break point further upstream if necessary, follow it down just to confirm the flow.
I've been struggling with this for the past day. I seem to be stuck with a weird bug in Eclipse where it decides to step through and exec sections that I've entirely deleted or commented. It also chooses to ignore all the instructions that I've actually added today. I've tried removing all breakpoints, clearing my bin directory, resetting my emulator, but nothing works.
Any help is much appreciated!

It depends on the OS you are debugging for...
5.0 + the sim is hot-swappable, and the menu option: Project-BlackBerry-Clean Simulator actually cleans the simulator
Do you have "Build Automatically" checked? You should (for this anywho)
if you select to Debug while it is running, it will build and resume near to the point it left off (if it still exists after your code edits anyway)
under 5.0, you need to kill the old sim, run the clean.bat as mentioned above and restart the sim
Although upon re-reading your post, sounds more like your build is not making it to the sim, and it is executing the app you already placed on it... Run the sim's clean.bat and check again... Are you sure you have a successful build?
I don't know if this is the solution to your problem but here are a few useful tips:
1.If you make changes to the code and save them while you have started the debugger i.e. have started Eclipse in Debug mode(Debug as...) the debugger won't recognize the changes. You have to recompile, repackage and then restart the debugger.
2.After making the changes to your code it isn't enough to just build the project. You also have to select the project and from the Project menu then Blackberry->Package Projects. After doing this try to start the debugger.

try to clean your emulator if you haven't done this yet. Go to emulator folder and use clean.bat to clean the emulator this will remove all applications you installed on emulator.
Whenever I make changes to the BB code I need to do a clean build in Eclipse, sounds silly but it works for me. Otherwise I get the behavior you describe...
I am using eclipse 3.5 with google app engine + spring framework to develop application. My problem is when I change the code and build the project, the new code doesn't come in to effect. I even deleted the old file but at runtime, the old version gets display in the browser. Why?
Your description is not explicit, so following are my assumptions:
You are changing jsp/js or view related files
You have Google app engine plugin for eclipse to deploy the code
Following might be one of the reasons:
Your view files are cached in the browser, so try deleting the browser cache
Google app engine might have cached your files, so try deleting the temp folder
Eclipse IDE wouldn't have deployed your changed code, so check the timestamp, if it still shows the old timestamp, then find out how to configure eclipse to detect your changes.
I found 3 workarounds for similar issue (changes to a servlet (.java file) were not taking effect).
Before editing the .java file, stop the application. It seems that if you edit it while running, the issue occurs, even if you edit it, stop then re-start.
Delete items in Temp folder e.g, (C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp), then stop and re-start the app.
I think the culprit folder in the Temp folder is this:Jetty_127_0_0_1_8888_war__.g0qk00
Right click in in the console area and select 'Remove All Terminated'. Sometimes that reveals there are other instances running, which need to be stopped by clicking the terminate button.
I got the similar issue and the problem was due to not stopping the running server.
What i was doing was running the server, editing the java file, saving and again running the server. This created two instances of the server running and when checking into the browsers the old code was executed from the first instances.
So, the solution is terminate and relaunch the server, and your new changes will be in effect.

I get this error message every time I change something in my test class (and save it).

Possibly, you have a test which is still running (in debug mode). Try finishing all tests (you can see them in the debug view: window->show view->debug) and try again...

This means you changed a class while it was debugging an application and it could not update the class for the application while it was running.
The error suggests you may be running an older JVM, i.e. pre-1.4.2 but this error can occur with any JVM if the change is incompatible with the previous version of the class.
Check carefully what JRE you are using in your debug session.
Also check you are deploying classes compiled with the debug attribute set. (see this thread)

Hot code replacement works (only?) if automatic build is switched on...
I was running into this issues too. I found a build hiding in the backgound that was giving me fits. Check to make sure you have all tests/builds closed or completed. Nonetheless, you can still run the new code.
Whenever this error message appears it also gives options to terminate or restart. Select Terminate and it will terminate any running debug case which you are unable to locate.
if you have multiple projects involved, and multiple jre's installed, make sure all dependent projects are using the same javac/jre
Make sure your application server JRE and Eclipse JRE version should be same or else it will throw unsupported class version and hot code debug will not work.
I went to the same Problem,But my Debugging session ended hours ago.But still ECLIPSE error kept coming.
So I just simply restart the ECLIPSE IDE, then the problem just solved.
