Gravity form can create a cookie when the user submits the form. I would like to use this to hide the gform_wrapper div and replace it with a simple message "You have already filled out the form."
add_action( 'gform_after_submission_1', 'set_form_1_complete_cookie' );
This is a version of what I would like to do that uses Jquery-cookie I tested it independently and it works fine but I can't figure out how to implement something like this with my form.
// when clicked on “X” icon do something
$('.close').click(function() {
// check that “X” icon was not cliked before (hidden)
if (!$('.change-message--on-click').is('hide--first')) {
$('.change-message--on-click').removeClass('hide--second');
$('.change-message--on-click').addClass('hide--first');
// add cookie setting that user has clicked
$.cookie('hide-after-click', 'yes', {expires: 7 });
}
return false;
})
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently developing a sapui5 mobile application and am using an sap.m.Input with suggestions bound by a model like this:
new Page('page', {
showNavButton: true,
content: [
new sap.m.Input({
id: "input",
type: 'Text',
showSuggestion: true,
suggestionItemSelected: function(event) {
event.getParameters().selectedItem.mProperties.text;
},
liveChange: function() {
// some stuff
}
})
]
});
The Model is created and bound like the following:
var model = new sap.ui.model.json.JSONModel();
// model is filled
sap.ui.getCore().byId('input').setModel(model);
sap.ui.getCore().byId('input').bindAggregation('suggestionItems', '/', new sap.ui.core.Item({
text: "{someField}"
}));
When I now click into the input field on a mobile device, kind of a new screen opens with a new input field, which the user has to manually focus again, what seems like a usability flaw to me.
Is there a nice possibility to enable auto focusing the input field on this new screen, so that the user doesn't has to do it again? Or can this screen be disabled at all on mobile devices?
sap.m.input doesn't seem to have a own method for focusing, or at least I'm not finding one - I already tried using jquery's .focus() on the new input field, but without success.
edit: for clarification, the suggestion works troublefree - only the absence of the auto focus on the appearing new screen is what bothers me.
Here is a workaround to "fix" this behavior: https://jsbin.com/lukozaq
Note 1: The above snippet relies on internal implementation of how the popup works. Use it with caution as there are currently no public APIs to access the corresponding internal controls.
Note 2: I put the word fix in quotes because it seems to be the intended behavior that the user has to click on the second input field explicitly, according to the comment in the source code:
Setting focus to DOM Element, which can open the on screen keyboard on mobile device, doesn't work consistently across devices. Therefore, setting focus to those elements are disabled on mobile devices and the keyboard should be opened by the user explicitly.
That comment is from the module sap.m.Dialog. On a mobile device, when the user clicks on the source input field, a stretched Dialog opens up as a "popup" which has the second input field in its sub header.
Please check the API documentation of sap.m.Input, it has a method focus. You can call:
this.byId("input").focus()
to set the focus into the input field.
Try this:
jQuery.sap.delayedCall(0, this, function() {
this.byId("input").focus()
});
About how to detect when the user presses the input field: maybe something like this? Only problem is that I think you probably don't know the id of the new input field which is shown.
var domId = this.byId("input").getId();
$( "#"+domId ).click(function() {
jQuery.sap.delayedCall(0, this, function() {
this.byId("input").focus()
});
});
I am pretty sure that the first piece of code is how to put focus on an input. I'm not sure about the second part, but it's something to try.
in onAfterRendering() do the below..
onAfterRendering : function() {
$('document').ready(function(){
sap.ui.getCore().byId('input').focus();
});
}
I didn´t have the exactly same problem, but It was similiar.
My problem was that I needed focus into suggestion input when the view had been rendered. My solution was to put following code into "hanldeRouteMatched" function:
var myInput = this.byId("inputName");
var viewName = this.getView().getId();
var selector1 = viewName + "--inputName-inner";
var selector2 = viewName + "--inputName-popup-input-inner";
jQuery.sap.delayedCall(1000, this, function() {
myInput.focus();
if($("#" + selector1)){
$("#" + selector1).click();
jQuery.sap.delayedCall(500, this, function() {
if($("#" + selector2)){
$("#" + selector2).focus();
}
});
}
});
If you see that suggestion input catch focus, but It lose it after, or It never catched it, try increasing the time in delayedCalls. The needed time depends on your connection speed.
I have a rather large form, that I've broken up into individual sections with "Next" and "Back" buttons for the user to navigate each step.
Here is how I set it up to work for now:
Each section is within its own xp:panel
Each xp:panel is hidden with "display:none". The transition happens when the user clicks on "Next" or "Back" by using JQuery's fade animation
What I am trying to do is, if the user clicks on "Next" I would like to validate only the fields in the current, visible section. If the validation fails, don't transition to the next step. If the validation passes, transition to the next step.
Right now, when I click on the "Next" button, every field is being validated and the transition doesn't happen.
Is there a way, that I can only validate the fields in a certain section or would I have to use something like Don Mottolo's code snippet: http://openntf.org/XSnippets.nsf/snippet.xsp?id=ssjs-form-validation-that-triggers-errormessage-controls
Thank you for your help!
P.S.: I know I could use the CSJS portion of the onClick event of the button to run some validation, but I'd like to use the "Display Error" controls.
You could look at computing the required attribute of each control that is to be validated and have that check which button is submitting the form. Tommy Vaaland has a function that does this:
// Used to check which if a component triggered an update
function submittedBy( componentId ){
try {
var eventHandlerClientId = param.get( '$$xspsubmitid' );
var eventHandlerId = #RightBack( eventHandlerClientId, ':' );
var eventHandler = getComponent( eventHandlerId );
if( !eventHandler ){ return false; }
var parentComponent = eventHandler.getParent();
if( !parentComponent ){ return false; }
return ( parentComponent.getId() === componentId );
} catch( e ){ /*Debug.logException( e );*/ }
}

You can look at using a client side form validation framework such as Parsley: http://parsleyjs.org
This can of course be combined with server side validation for at least the final submission.
Heres my scenario: I have an index page with 2 radio buttons on it and a span area for results. When one of the radio buttons are clicked, the span fills up with an ajax generated page that has an input box as so :
<input size='25' class='datepicker' value='Click to enter deposit date' READONLY type='text' id='depositDate' name='depositDate'>
At the bottom of this page there is an 'Add Record' button which fires off javascript validation. The validation is so:
var inpDepDate = $.trim($("#depositDate").val());
if(inpPayDate=='Click to enter pay date') // Validate pay date
{
alert('Invalid pay date; re-enter');
document.getElementById('payDate').focus();
document.getElementById('payDate').select();
return false;
}
Also in my javascript file is :
$(function(){
$( "#depositDate" ).live('focus', function() {
$(this).datepicker({
changeMonth: true,
changeYear: true,
minDate: "+1D",
showOtherMonths: true,
selectOtherMonths: true}).focus();
});
});
The problem is when the validation fails, the text does get highlighted and selected but it does not open automatically.
Ive tried a number of things, actually a ton of things from this site, and no luck. And it seems to never recognize the live event. But if I click on the text box after its failed the validation (and the text is highlighted), the calendar opens just fine. Im fairly new at jQuery and ui.
You don't need to reinstantiate the datepicker if you've already called it on #depositDate in the past. (Or on payDate)
Try this:
if(inpPayDate=='Click to enter pay date') // Validate pay date
{
alert('Invalid pay date; re-enter');
$("#payDate").datepicker("show");
return false;
}
I am having trouble identifying the particular value or ID of a submit button after it has been clicked and submitted using AJAX.
If I place the following code as a global function, it properly alerts the value of the button clicked:
$(":submit").live('click', function() {
alert($(this).val());
})
However, when I attempt to define the variable, I am unable to use that variable from within the success callback function:
$(":submit").live('click', function() {
var whichButton = $(this).val();
})
...
$("#applicant-form").validate({
function(form) {
$(form).ajaxSubmit({
...
success: alert(whichButton);
I have also tried placing the code in the submitHandler, but that doesn't work either.
In a somewhat related post, a user had suggested I place the following code:
$("#accordion .edit").click(function(){
window.lastButtonClicked = this;
});
...
submitHandler: function(){
var index_origin = $(window.lastButtonClicked).attr("name");
}
But I was not able to get that to get the value of the button clicked (it said that the value was undefined).
Any suggestions?
UPDATE: It might help if I provide more information about why I need to know which button is pressed. I have two kinds of submit buttons for each form in a multi-part form. I would like to do different things based on which button was clicked.
$(":submit").live('click', function() {
var whichButton = $(this).val();
})
The scope of whichbutton is inside of this anonymous function; you can't access it from elsewhere. A quick fix might be to declare whichbutton as a global variable but there's probably very few cases where you should do that. More context as to what it is you're trying to do would help, right now it just looks like you're trying to alert the button text on success after an ajax form submit.
This is strange and any alternative method to what I want to accomplish is welcome. My app uses the jqgrid 3.5.3 and I need to disable a select list on my edit form. When I do so using the code displayed below it breaks the edit form - meaning I can not cancel or submit it. Thanks. This code is in the edit options array of the navGrid method. The the dropdown is the 'serv_descr' field. The others are text boxes and don't pose a problem. The form does come up and the field is disabled - its just broken.
beforeShowForm: function(eparams) {
document.getElementById('equip_id').disabled = true;
document.getElementById('service_dt').disabled = true;
document.getElementById('serv_descr').disabled = true;
document.getElementById('calc_next_svc').checked = 'true';
}
afterShowForm: function(eparams) {
$('#equip_id').attr('disabled', 'disabled');
$('#service_dt').attr('disabled', 'disabled');
$('#serv_descr').attr('disabled', 'disabled');
$('#calc_next_svc').attr('checked', true);
}
Note:
replace event trigger afterShowForm
id name must be form controll
