Please suggest me to get this requirement.
I have a report where I need show data wise sites.Suppose if I click on particular date it should show respected sites.
The date field is coming from different query and sites info is coming from diff query.
Now I need to pass this date field as a parameter to 2nd query. But due to some limitation(nested sub reports) I am not using sub report approach.
I am using drill down concept.
So I have taken both queries in one report only and I written a sub query in 2nd query to get 1st queries date .
Now I am displaying the date parameter in 2nd query as a column.
Now I have date columns in both the queries.
Now what is my doubt is whether I need to link both the queries date fields in links tab(As I need to show sites coming from 2nd query by clicking date field coming from 1st query)
Please suggest .

I am trying to link two different tables by date. table 1: Date is a date and time field table 2: Date is a date field
I am using Crystal report 11 and in the report options; converting to the date field is not an option
Can't do such a join in Crystal.
Consider creating a View in the DBMS to take care of converting the data type in one of these tables.
Other options:
No join but use a record selection condition. Performance would suffer but if number of records is not too large that should work.
Use a Command.
Use one table in the main report and link to the other via a subreport link.
Looking for some advice related to data grouping and printing in Crystal Reports.
I'm working with an order confirmation form. Ideally I would create separate report pages based on a specific field value change for the 'warehouse' field. So, if any given line on an order comes from warehouse A, it prints together. Then we'd get a page break, and we'd see the form repeat for any lines coming from warehouse B.
I've inserted a new group for "warehouse" and configured the group as 'New Page Before.' But when I attempt to print I'm getting an error related to "There must be a group that matches this field". So there must be some pre-existing grouping that I'm not considering. I'm hopeful I can figure this out.
I am interested to get thoughts on overall design, and if the grouping approach I am trying to take is even the correct one.
Somewhere in your report you probably have a formula such as:
Sum({some_value}, {some_field})
where the {some_field} used to be -- but is no longer -- grouped upon.
Fix that expression to set the desired aggregation level (the 2nd argument) to a field you are actually grouping on.
Gif of problem
I am currently working on a dashboard in tableau, which shows the count of New-User-Signups and Interactions side-by-side given different date windows. The first New-User-Signup happened before the first Interaction, and the last Interaction happened after the last User Signup.
In order to choose a date window, I linked the date fields in both data sources, and made a date filter, which I applied to all worksheets using related data sources.
However, depending on which "date" field I choose, (from the User Signup table or the Interaction table), the "All Dates" option of the date filter only goes from start to end of that data source's date range.
No matter what I try, I exclude some entries in either one graph or the other. How can I make the "All Dates" filter go from the minimum first date between both data sources, to the maximum last date between the two data sources?
I run into this issue a lot with the data that I use. The problem is that the filter will only be able to contain dates that are in the dataset it is created off of, even if you link the data sources. When I run into this issue, I use parameters instead.
You can find instructions here:

I'm making a report using Crystal Reports 2008 and Peachtree database. Report should display customers who didn't place orders in a last 30 days. I already figured out how to link two tables in CR with left outer join. But I wasn't able to find how that linking can be used in formulas, such as selection formula. What I am trying to achieve is to get date of last placed order for current customer and use this information to determine if customer should be displayed or not.
What is the right approach to solving this problem?
Assuming your data is setup properly and adding 'customer' and 'last order date' to the details section shows you everything, then you can just add conditional formatting formula for the suppress property of the section when 'data date - last order date < 30', leaving you only showing records where last order date is more than 30 days.
I'm trying to create a Crystal Report that reads data from an access table. I have a particular field in the access table called REPT_YYMM. This is basically a run data field, so each month when a program is run it populates the current year/month in the field before exporting to access, so there is a way to do month to month comparisons. For the report I'm working on I just want to display the data along with the current REPT_YYMM field when the data is refreshed on a monthly basis. Is there a way to do this in a formula. I'm not familiar enough with date type functions to know where to start.
Any guidance or suggestions are appreciated!
Your question isn't very clear but if i understood correct you just need to filter the data where field REPT_YYMM = YYMM.
Goto selection formulas, record and enter:
{table.REPT_YYMM} = cStr(currentdate,'yyMM');
