Eclipse keyboard shortcut to open build path of current project? - eclipse

I often have to edit the build path of my project in eclipse. Is there a keyboard shortcut that will open the window as "configure build path" option in Eclipse?

Right click on any project in package explorer, select Build Path..> Configure Build Path...
Select any project in package explorer press Alt + Enter.
First step is necessary as property dialog remembers the previously selected node.

How do I add external tools to eclipse project context menu?

I have a few commands that I've defined as "External Tools" in eclipse. I would like to run said commands against one or more projects. Right now, I have to click on the project in package explorer, move my mouse to the 'Run' menu, move down to External Tools, and then click on the tool I want to run.
Ideally I would like to do this from the right click context menu in "Package Explorer". That is I'd like to right click on the project, select "external tools" and then select the command I want. How do I customize eclipse to do this?
I tried looking around "Customize Perspective..." menu, but couldn't find anything that would help.

Eclipse (STS) Open Resource "Show In" menu

When using STS 3.7.1.RELEASE (on Windows, based on Eclipse Mars.1 4.5.1), I'd like to navigate to a file using "Open Resource" dialog and show the file in Package or Project Explorer using the "Show In" button.
But the Show In menu only shows "Terminal" and no "Project Explorer" option. Why is that and how can I fix it? Are there any options to be configured to get it working?
4 years later, that has been fixed with Eclipse 2019-09:
The Show In context menu is now available for an element inside a resource project on the Project Explorer.

Eclipse: Open in New Window

In Package Explorer I right-clicked on project and selected "Open in New Window". New Eclipse window was opened with that project. Then I closed old, "main" Eclipse window, so only new "project" window remained.
Now each time I launch Eclipse I have this "project" window with project name in window title and Package Explorer drilled down into this project. And I need to press "Up" button in Package Explorer to see all my projects.
How can I restore default behaviour and launch Eclipse with workspace scope and not project?
My original answer: Once you get the Package Explorer the way you want it, if you exit Eclipse cleanly it should come back that way.
My revised answer: It looks like a bug, even if you exit cleanly it comes back inside of the project. And in fact when you create a new window no matter what it puts you into the project. Even if you switch to the project explorer.
I found a way to fix it though, do a Window -> Close All Perspectives, then open the Java perspective and exit and come back in and you should be OK. I have filed this bug about it.
Close the project properly " File --> Close All", Then restart eclipse.
OR you can create a new work space " File --> Switch Workspace --> Other..."
Im not sure this is what you are looking for but the Documentation offers a command line option to select the start workspace:
The workspace is the physical location (file path) you are working in.
You can choose the workspace during startup of Eclipse or via the menu
( File → Switch Workspace → Others.

"Open Project" button in Eclipse is disabled

I have just downloaded Eclipse, started it and found that "Open Project" button is disabled. So how do I open my project =) ?
"Open Project" button will only be enabled when there is a project selected in the active view. If you just downloaded Eclipse and started on a brand new workspace without any project created or imported, you would need to use File > New > Project... or File > Import... to add a project in your workspace.
Go to File->Import and select "General" and from the list select "Existing Projects into Workspace" then click "Next". After that in the next dialog, for the root directory, if your project exists in the "D:\Projects\Android\Test" folder (for example), type "D:\Projects\Android" and click on "Refresh" button. You will see your project(s) in the result list. Click on "Finish" and done.
The Reason is that if anyone is using the IDE for the first time the option of "open Project" is unavailable ,thus one may have to migrate to file->import->general->Existing Projects into Work space. That's it and browse up to that location as well select the type of project that means if you have unzipped type of files then select "select Root directory" option and if you have a zip version of it then select "select archive file" option.

How to prevent Eclipse from showing the opened file in package explorer

somehow I've ended up in a situation such that when I navigate through source files with Eclipse, the Eclipse always selects (and expands) the opened file with package explorer. With this I end up
losing my location on Package Explorer
Having my Package explorer expanded and pretty confusing.
With brief googling/exploring on the preferences I couldn't find this one..
Eclipse version is 3.4 if that happens to matter.
Thanks in advance,
Touko
Turn off the "Link with Editor" option in the Package Explorer toolbar.
(the left/right arrow icon, turned on here)
Select a source file, right click on it, choose "Open with" and then "Java Editor". The Java Editor should be the default after that for all java files.
