How to change the toolbar's icon dynamically in eclipse? - eclipse

I am building a login part for a eclipse plugin project, but I am blocked by changing the icon of my toolbar after auto login. I use IElementUpdater to get the element when click the login button. But when it is auto login, I can not get the element, is there any way that I can change the icon like element.setIcon(). I start auto login by using IStartup extension point.
I tried ControlContribution, there's no exact example for me. So could some one help me to figure out this blocker? Thank you!

You can force the updateElements call using the command service:
ICommandService commandService = (ICommandService)window.getService(ICommandService.class);
commandService.refreshElements("command id", null);

java-client - 5.8.0
selenium-standalone server -3.52.0
1.first username, password entered successfully using selenium
2.while entering password soft keyboard was enabled but I did hide keyboard also
3.But I clicked login but it is passed but where it is clicked I don't know
(I thought it might be soft keyboard issue)
Please let me know why the action not performed.
Is a native app, hybrid, web? Paste what you got until now...
Anyway, if you searched the element before the software keyboard is hidden and you try to click it after the keyboard is not longer visible... Then you could have a problem.
Add a delay for a few seconds and search again for the element and try clicking
What are you using to hide keyboard? I guess -> driver.hide_keyboard() method? Have you tried doing click at X, Y coordinates like 10,10 that are obviously out of the keyboard(for example...). Or have you tried simulating terminal back button? -> driver.back()
If 1. and 2. are not working, why don't you try with capabilities -> 'unicodeKeyboard' and 'resetKeyboard' setted to true?
You will need to provide more information to be able to help. Then I will edit my answer with code and examples

Customizing properties dialog screen in IBM Content Navigator

I need to develop a functionality in IBM Content Navigator where after search for an item, right click it-> Properties, I need to either:
1 - add a button in properties dialog screen that will call a service and open another dialog;
2 - or extend the Save button functionality to also call a service and open another dialog;
What's quickest way to achieve that ?
Have a look # ecm.widget.dialog.EditPropertiesDialog and onSave() method. This might help you to extend save button functionality.
You can add your customized code by using aspect before/after:
(choose either depending on your functionality)
aspect.after(ecm.widget.dialog.EditPropertiesDialog.prototype,"onSave", function(event){
......
});
aspect.before(ecm.widget.dialog.EditPropertiesDialog.prototype,"onSave", function(event){
......
});

Remove 'Details' button from ProgressMonitorJobsDialog JFace

I am trying to remove the 'Details' button from the following ProgressMonitorJobsDialog:
I am running a org.eclipse.core.runtime.jobs.Job that opens the default Dialog. I have seen examples here of disabling the Cancel button, but I need to remove the third one and extending the default ProgressMonitorJobsDialog won't help, since it is invoked by the default UIJob class. Any ideas?
This dialog is usually ProgressMonitorFocusJobDialog displayed by ProgressManager. It isn't really possible to change the dialog without using internal APIs.
Instead of a Job you could use an IRunnableWithProgress and use ProgressMonitorDialog to run it. This dialog does not have the Details section.

How to disable back button on report?

I am accessing report using URL like in example:
http://localhost:8080/jasperserver/flow.html?_flowId=viewReportFlow&standAlone=true&_flowId=viewReportFlow&ParentFolderUri=%2Freports%2Finteractive&reportUnit=%2Freports%2Finteractive%2FCustomersReport
I have also added custom theme to hide JasperServer decorators by folowing link: http://community.jaspersoft.com/wiki/embedding-ad-hoc-http-api
The only problem I am facing is when user click on Back button, they are exiting the report and they can see list of reports in repository. I would like to disable that behavior so that Back button just does nothing in that case. I have tried to customize the behavior as described in: http://community.jaspersoft.com/wiki/setting-default-flow-action-back-button but I can't find the proper value to replace the default action:
<end-state id="done" view="flowRedirect:searchFlow?lastMode=true" />
I have tried replacing it with
<end-state id="done" view="json:none" />
but that gave me some crazy error.
Hiding button by CSS is not a option since I need the back button to work when user is viewing sub-reports.
I did this issue for Input Control form button.
Under "...\apache-tomcat\webapps\jasperserver\WEB-INF\jsp\modules\viewReport" directory, in ViewReport.jsp file, I searched for "ICDialog" text and deleted related statements with ICDialog. Then I restarted the jasperserver by "servicerun.bat" and "servicerun.bat START" commands.
I think, this will work for back button and the others.
How about setting up the roles/users so the logged in user can only view reports allowed by that user. This would be a better solution than trying to circumvent the browser functionality. Alternatively if you have an application you are trying to embed jasper in you could use the web services to just download the report required by the user and not enable them to access the server webpage.
Simply add &decorate=no at the end of the URL.
Now the url like this {url_for_jasper_report}&decorate=no
Adding this query parameter you can hide the back button as well as the footer and header

Unable to locate WindowID

I am currently testing a web app using selenium rc with eclipse. I've been having issues with a single pop up window which appears when a submit button is clicked. The confirmation window appears with a single 'ok' option.
I've also tried 'chooseOKonnextConfirmation' in conjunction with .getConfirmation but eclipse tells me no confirmation exists. I've tried inspecting the window itself with firebug but have been unable to get any results.
I also tried with "selenium.selectWindow(getAllWindowIDs ()[1]);" but selenium not recognizing "getAllWindowIDs".
Could somebody please tell me how I can retrieve the windowID and the associated API commands I need to implement to get rid of this problem?
from your description, i understand that you have an ALERT window being appeared after clicking SUBMIT button but not the CONFIRMATION window.
if my understanding is correct
( you said single OK button - ALERT window appears with single OK button - CONFIRMATION window appears with OK and CANCEL buttons - there is another window javascript can generate which is CONFIRMATION.it appears with TEXT field and OK and CANCEL buttons )
so you must use accordingly.
here is what you should use
if(selenium.isAlertPresent()) {
String message = selenium.getAlert();
}
this will consume you Alert window and you can check the message displayed on Alert window if you want.
if this is not please post write your comment
It's selenium.getAllWindowIds(); note the capitalisation. Don't forget to make sure the popup has already appeared (e.g. selenium.waitForPopUp()).
Yes sudarsan is correct if you have an alert.
If you have an popup window not an alert with OK button then you have to click OK when popup appears.
If you are unable to locate the button use firebug to locate the element.
