how do i use coffescript with locomotive JS - coffeescript

Hi i'm trying to use the newest locomotiveJS version but want to use coffescripts for my controllers etc. - Old posts on google (like How do I set coffescript in Locomotivejs?) shows that this is possible, but the examples given doesn't fit anymore (structure changes to app booting in locomotive).
An up-to-date example would be nice

Figured it out myself, in the newer version you just have to require the coffeescript compiler and then everything works magically

Deploying .lib file in the Salesforce org

I am using this code: https://github.com/pradeepramakrishna/Lightning-Experience/tree/master/aura-components to compile on my org.
I have got one components as eventLib.lib and interactive.js in eventLib folder. I have put this folder in c:MyDevOrg\force-app\main\default\aura folder in the local machine and tried to deploy in the org using VSCode but it didn't work.
I tried creating folder in the Files tab and added the interactive.js in the folder but that is also not seeming to work with the Aura components.
How can I deploy this lib into the org as it is being used in some Aura components.
We don't know what you're trying to achieve. You asked a very technical question to which the answer is "you're probably doing it wrong". Instead try to write what business functionality you are trying to achieve and you might get better answers.
You shouldn't have to import ui:eventLib. It's supposed to be part of core Salesforce's Aura components framework. But.
You've referenced a repo that wasn't updated in a while, no promises this still compiles / is best way to do X.
This repo seems to rely on open source Aura framework which is well... dead in the water.
You might be able to reuse something from this repo in your app using SF's built-in tags - but whole ui: library has been deprecated. Announced in Winter'20 = almost 2 years ago, finally dead in May 2021.
I don't think eventLib was ever exposed, might be something needed just in open source version which complicates the matter more. The answer would be to not work with the really "decompiled" tags but with their higher abstracted versions like ui:inputDate.
So, back to my question. What exactly are you trying to achieve.
You want to build something on pure SF platform (use pure Aura/LWC).
Want to have an app written in Angular, React etc, pure JS, connecting to SF data via API? (build it, upload as static resourcethen import using lightning:container)
want to prettify an existing Java/PHP/.NET app, make it look more Lightning-ish and embed it as iframe? (look into https://www.lightningdesignsystem.com/ and connected apps + "canvas")
want to expose piece of SF as reusable element that can be embedded in another website but could even be an Outlook plugin? (search for "lightning out")
want to look at modern equivalent of that old open source Aura repo and decide what to do next? Check https://lwc.dev/ out.

Build custom plugin to draft js

I want to add #draft-js-plugins/mention but at the moment it's not possible since one of the dependencies of this package is immutable js that use a very old version thus cause an issue in my project since I'm using the newest version. It's not possible to downgrade at the moment and so I'm wondering what are my other options? Is it possible to integrate DraftJS with other libraries for this feature only? Is it possible to build a custom 'Mentioned' feature? How can I integrate it with Draft?
Any recommendations and examples will be very much appreciated
#draft-js-plugins uses the same version of immutable as draft-js. So your problem would be draft-js which is using immutable#3.7.4.

I solve the issue by using the 'react-draft-wysiwyg' package that was written on top of DraftJS and contains all the necessary plugins. A simple implementation that solves everything

XLET - how to create a simple xlet MHP javax.TV

I'm trying to create my first xlet project.
Can you help me?

You can use XletView to view your Xlet.

You will need to get a hold on the various API's, which is somewhat troublesome (I've heard).
But there are also other ways of getting them. For example, if you own PowerDVD, you'll be able to find BDJ.jar somewhere in that package. Add that to your classpath, and you'll be able to compile your Xlet.
If you're running Windows, you can probably develop Xlets with JavaME SDK 3.0 too (sadly not available for Linux though).

Scala on iOS using Avian

There is a relatively-new lightweight JVM called Avian that can produce executables for iOS targets.
There isn't too much documentation on the website (and not much can be found searching with Google). I was wondering if anybody was aware of a step-by-step tutorial on how to get a basic Scala program running on iOS, using Avian.
Another alternative JVM to iOS compiler is RoboVM. Although it is at an early stage, it looks quite promising, with examples on how to compile Scala for iOS.
EDIT This was an old answer, valid at that time, but, as #JamesMoore points out, RoboVM is no more. What looks very promising now, and may well be the way to run Scala code in iOS in the near future is Scala Native
Compiled Scala sources are completely standard class files. You should be able to follow the instructions (look for “Embedding”) on the website without large changes, just treat scala-library.jar as a dependency of your code.
I managed to bootstrap the complete compiler and the standard library running on Avian a few days ago.
Some parts might still be a bit rough around the edges, e. g. there is one mandatory fix which will be part of the next release of Scala (2.10.1) but is not in 2.10.0. If you want to play with it right now, you need to use a nightly build until 2.10.1 is released.

I may not need it anymore, now that Oracle is making JavaFX open-source on iOS and Android!
EDIT: Oracle updated the article to announce that they will not release a JVM, so it looks like JavaFX+Avian may be the way to go.
Running Java byte code on iOS (not-rooted) is not only running that or those JVM. As far as I understand iOS memory management doesn't allow executable memory pages to be writable in user mode. That basically prohibits any JIT compilation.
So even if it's possible to run some compiled (either from Java or Scala) classes on specific Java VM I would carefully check how this VM supports Ahead-Of-Time compilation in order to be runnable on iOS.
As I have seen Avian AOT works well on a desktop. For iOS you will have to check it yourself, although the project looks promising in AOT area.

why is Catalyst::Helper::View::TTSite deprecated?

I've just started getting into Catalyst, and I've been finding it really helpful. One of my favorite things about it was TTSite in that it got me going fast and gave me something to develop with without just black text (and it required no work from me to setup). However, I've been reading in a lot of places that it's buggy, or even deprecated as mentioned here on the actual Catalyst tutorial. However I've found it nothing but helpful and have had no issues, so basically I'm wondering is there reason for me to be worried and not use it? And if so, does anyone know of a similar alternative that kind of gives you a base template set up to work within? Thanks a lot!
I don't think TTSite is officially deprecated in terms of support .. it is still included in the Catalyst::View::TT distribution as of 0.39 (released 10-April 2012). I suspect it is more a case of some developers disliking the base templates that are provided and TTSite no longer being recommended as part of the default Catalyst tutorial.
TTSite provides a very simple base that has some quirks. For example, the context object is called Catalyst instead of c, and the use of TT's WRAPPER command can get in the way of AJAX and non-html views.

A modern base theme would probably start with something like Bootstrap or one of the 960 Grid HTML/CSS frameworks. I'm not aware of an actively maintained Catalyst::View helper that would be a better replacement for TTSite, but also don't find it too onerous to drop in the latest version of Bootstrap :)
