I haved tried on my best but always get the repsonse like:
"Your Page Tab links to a different Facebook URL. Go to the app "Settings" tab >> find the "PageTab" section >> revise your Page Tab platform."
As my case, I have an ecommerce system which allows users create an online store automatically by few step.
For example, ecommerce system is hosted at URL abcd.com. I create a store name "TEST", so I would get a sub domain test.abcd.com where I can access to my "TEST" store
So this means that, abcd.com just be a general domain, for each different store will have one separate sub domain
In PageTab section of my Facebook App, I config detail as below:
- Page Tab URL: http://abcd.com
- Secure Page Tab URL: https://abcd.com
I create a FanPage name "Testing FanPage 01" and try to integrate my store ( test.abcd.com ) to this FanPage
It works prefectly although the URL of page display in iFrame is test.abcd.com which totally different from the Secure Page Tab already defined before
The whole process can be explain as: when Facebook's proxy post to abcd.com , I will do some process to detect and redirect to test.abcd.com
I think, the problem is that the page URL displayed in iFame is completely different from the Secure Page Tab already defined before...?

Hi I wan't to create a facebook app to use it for the auth in my new site locally installed(my machine),but from yesterday I don't succeed to install it and use it, all time I have this very strange error when I wan't write a domain in the "App Domains" :
This must be derived from Canvas URL, Secure Canvas URL, Site URL, Mobile Site URL, Page Tab URL or Secure Page Tab URL. Check and correct the following domains
the domain of my application is http://localhost/project/app_dev.php/ it dosn't work I change it by a real url such as : http://www.exemple.com/,but I had the same error,and just I notice that I see this error when I create an app with new look of facebook (yesterday)...
In my case the problem was I hadn't completed the "+ Add Platform > Website" section. Once I did that the contents of App Domains became valid and the error went away.
I had this same problem yesterday, the stackoverflow answers that helped me the most were

The Facebook developer UI has changed a bit. I'm writing this answer to consolidate all the info that helped me.
1. Make local.host Point to Your Computer
First thing you need to do is (as answered in the first link), facebook won't take localhost as a valid callback site, because it confuses localhost with a top level domain (com org etc.) in other words there is not dot . in your domain name. So change your /etc/hosts to add the entry
127.0.0.1 local.host
Now youcan access your app at http://local.host/... (this will take effect as soon as you save /etc/hosts file, no need to restart anything)
2. Add local.host as the Site URL on the facebook Dev Console
The second thing you need to do is add local.host as the site url on the facebook page
Now don't use your production app. Add a dummy app on your https://developers.facebook.com account Because your production app will have to set the site URL to your production URL and not local.host
Configure the dummy app as shown in the screenshot. But that website section(shown in the screenshot) won't be visible on the Basic settings page from the beginning.
First you will have to click + Add Platform button at the bottom, and select Website.
Notice I added http://local.host:3000/. That's where my ruby server runs in dev mode.
Also, be sure to use App Id and App Secret for the dummy app when running your webapp in dev mode.

My problem was that logging in with facebook wasn't working for my app.
It turned out that I just needed to fill in the "Valid OAuth redirect URIs" field on the "Advanced" tab.
e.g. http://example.com/auth/google/callback
I'd a similar problem, Facebook have changed now on left pane file login (After selecting you app from top left corner) -> Valid OAuth redirect URIs
If you work on desktop app like WPF or winforms and use a WebBrowser Control to log in with the Facebook SDK.
You have to set to yes the Embedded Browser OAuth Login in Advance Tab of your facebook apps setting.

Chose "Add platform" at the bottom and give your localhost url. "http://localhost:port/".
After this step. Facebook allows you to add localhost:port as your domain url.
After these 2 steps you can test "login with facebook" without any trouble.
Salon owners can create an account with their salon information on our platform and they get a page that they can use as a tab app.
I want to be able to serve all these pages from one app instead of having to install each one seprately and I also want to make the life of the salon owner easier by helping them to install the tab.
I know about the link I can create to help them install the app and I know that when a visitor visits the app that facebook will send the page ID. So far so good.

But how do I make sure that when the salonowner follows the link to install the app that I get the page ID back (through callback or other) so that I can register which page ID belongs to which salon account.
I've read sone 2011 article about a callback but I can't find any recent info on this.
I think it should be possible as a lot of sites offer easy fb apps to businesses.
Any help would be welcome!

In addition, your app will also receive a string parameter called app_data as part of signed_request if an app_data parameter was set in the original query string in the URL your tab is loaded on. It could look like this: "https://www.facebook.com/YourPage?v=app_1234567890&app_data=any_string_here". You can use that to customize the content you render if you control the generation of the link.
Well... Preventing users from adding your application to their page is impossible. You can't prevent that.
What you will be able to do is to detect who has added your application and according to that, change the content (or not display it at all). So you'll have to start with a list of "allowed" page_ids to match to the accounts you want.
Your application will receive a signed_request each time a user arrives at your application (within a page). Inside that signed_request is information not only on the user but also on the page that the application is on (provided it is a page tab app).
Once you have obtained the signed_request, it will hold a page key which contains:
A JSON object containing the page id string, the liked boolean (set to
true if the user has liked the page, false if not) and the admin
boolean (set to true if the user is an admin of the page, false if
they're not). This field is only present if your app is being loaded
within a Page Tab.
So you'll be able to access the page_id from within this variable and make a decision on the type of content you want to be displayed.
Ok, after running some tests I found out that when you add a URL as 'next' parameter to the install URL Facebook will send the admin(user) back to this URL while adding an array to the request containing all the page Id's the app was installed to.
Like this: YOUR_CALLBACK_URL?tabs_added[ID]=1

I have a facebook page tab iframe and would like to access the browser url in order to get the current facebook page url.
I know it's not possible to use a javascript that interacts with the parent frame because of browser security issues.
An approach that didn't work for all browsers was to read the HTTP_REFERER header from the request.
Is there a better way?
I hope this is impossible at all. Otherwise it will be a security issue, likely to be closed.
You should not write code depending on compromising other users.
It is not possible to get URL of a parent Frame due to cross-domain policy. And there is no way to get the information about page your application running on in client-side.
But on the server-side you can reconstruct the Page URL using details passed in signed_request. For Page Tab Applications it contains page:
A JSON object containing the page id string, the liked boolean (set to true if the user has liked the page, false if not) and the admin boolean (set to true if the user is an admin of the page, false if they're not).
Using that page id you can build the Page URL:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/-/PAGE_ID
If you want the link to your Page Tab with your application use:

Beware, HTTP_REFERRER is provided by client and cannot be trusted, and it's may be cut by plugin/proxy/etc...
Notes:
Pages may have different URL in real life, but using this technique user will be landing the correct Page since Facebook will issue redirect to correct URL of a Page.
Sample URLs use HTTP scheme, feel free to use HTTPS if you need it.
In PHP for example you can detect the current scheme like this:

HTTP_REFERRER might not work as expected in my experience. If the tab app is designed for a specific page (which I suppose it kind of should), have you tried recreating it?

Where MYPAGENAME is your page name and MYAPPID is the app id, of course.
If the tab is applied to multiple pages though, I'm quite sure you'll get the relevant data to apply the above from https://graph.facebook.com/PAGEID, where PAGEID is the ID of the page which you get from the signed request.
I have created a web app that authenticates users on our page and I'd like to connect it with an existing Page, but cannot find that option. I only see "Create Page" in Advanced options, but that's not really what I need.
I figured since it is possible to connect an old app with an existing Page because of the group profiles being removed, it should be possible to connect new apps with existing Pages as well. Am I wrong to assume that, or just blind and did not find that option?

Essentially what you have to do is initiate a dialog so that you can choose what page you want to add your application to. A direct URL example would be this :

Dont forget to substitute YOUR_APP_ID for your app_id and next to some other URL (doesn't have to be related to your application - it can be simple facebook.com

First option:
You should use the Fan Page Id on the place of a random website.

Second option:
Categorize your existing page under "App Page" (found under "Brands & Products").
Change your page name to mach your App name.
Go to your App and select "App Details"
Under "Contact Info" you will find "App Page".There you will be able to create a new page or if all went well, select your page from a list.

I am looking for help to validate when a Facebook APP has been installed. I am currently using PHP SDK to have the clients sign in and in the same manor I would like for them to return to the site once the APP is completed and installed correctly.
Is there a method to use this link and have it return with the client id?

You should not use https://www.facebook.com/add.php?api_key=XXX for any cases other addition of application to page as a tab (and even this is undocumented).
If you're using PHP-SDK you should use Facebook::getLoginUrl to log user in, which support redirect_uri parameter so you can add client id as argument to this URL

As it turns question is about adding application tab to page you should be using Add Page Tab Dialog to provide user with a way of "installing" application to page without leaving your app.
You can refer to answers on How to add tab application to a page with the "new auth dialog" for more info.

How to reach applications running as Page Tab described in "Integration with Facebook APIs" section of Page Tab Tutorial:

You not required to add app_data, just use v=app_APPID to link to your page tabs (Facebook itself using sk instead of v, both works).
