I am using Emacs Org Mode to keep tracking what I do. When I want to make a weekly report I would like to see what was going on for this week.
There are notes for each headings with C-c C-z, so all nodes have timestamp. How can I see all the notes in a file with given time range?
When I find clock report, I could put :block lastweek so I could see how much time was used for each tasks. What I want is to see all the notes. There must be a function for this. I just couldn't find it easily. Could you help?

I'm building a Grafana dashboard with some Stat panels that show average, minimum, and maximum time values (see below) for specific fields in my database. I'm storing the data in seconds and setting the value's units to seconds after which the panel displays the time in weeks, days, hours, etc. For the sake of consistency, I would like everything to be shown in days but I haven't been able to find a way to force units for the output value. If it's possible to do this, could someone please point me to some docs, or something that could show me which configurations to make in my panels?
So far, I've tried (without success):
Configure each panel to use units of days
The result of this was that everything showed up in years, etc.
Configure each panel to create a new field by performing a binary calculation where I converted from seconds to days and then I updated the units to be days
The result was that the values were not changed at all -> instead of showing X days, or whatever, it just showed the value in seconds without the units. I'm not sure what I messed up there, but it didn’t change anything.
I found this link that discusses setting a time range for queries
This didn’t end up being useful for what I was trying to do because it was actually geared towards changing the query to a specific date range rather than the output.
I looked through the transformations documentation, stat panel documentation, and a few other panel documentation pages in an effort to see if there was any information on how to do it but I was unable to find anything on forcing the output value to use a specific unit.
Edit:
So I kept messing around with the dashboard and got a solution that works - i.e. it's a "good-enough" solution (see below) - but, now, I'm curious if it's possible to show the units along with the value without it converting it to some other unit. Does anyone have any ideas about this?
One thing to note is that the data for this image is different than the data for the previous one so I'm expecting an inexact conversion to days.
You can use a custom unit. It is a bit tricky to enter the unit in the UI because of the automatic selection but if you enter i.e. "days" (without the quotes) in the Unit field ans instead of leving the field with tab or mouse click use the scrollbar of the combobox and select the last entry "Custom Unit: days".
Hope it helps. And for the record: I am using Garafana 7.1.4
I've currently got this Cron expression that I'm using to trigger a process in UiPath Orchestrator:
0 0 15 21W * ? *
Runs on the closest working day to the 21st of each month at 3pm.
However I need it to run on the next working day at 3pm if the 21st is a non working day.
Tried searching for an answer and nothing quite fit the brief.
I used this website to build my expression (which is a great tool) but it only had an option for 'nearest day' and not next working day given a specific day of month: https://www.freeformatter.com/cron-expression-generator-quartz.html
As you don't need the nearest day, you can't use the functionality of Orchestrator cronjob. I would recommend creating a wrapper process as follows:
Create a new process, let's call it StartJobByCheckingDate
Now create a trigger that starts StartJobByCheckingDate each day at 3pm
So that process is now your manager of your desired process
Now we need to check if it is the 21th day
Here you have different ways to solve it
You could create a DataTable or even a file in the StartJobByCheckingDate process, that contains all the different days where your desired process should be fired (but this is very manual, you might not want to update this every year, so this might not be the smartest but the easiest solution)
The other idea is to check if the current day is the 21th day. If so check if it is Saturday/Sunday (non-working day).
If true: you could now create a empty dummy file somewhere that tracks that the 21th was a non-working day, and the next day you check that file existing, if it exists you check the current day to be a working day, and if so you delete the file again and start your desired process
If false: just start your desired process directly
I think 2. idea would be that best. Sure you have 365 jobs runs/year. But when you keep that helper process smart this will just be seconds.
Another idea instead of using the dummy file, would be to use Entities. Smarter but need some more time to get familiar with.
We have (had) the exact same issue. Since UiPath doesn't offer a feasible solution out of the box, we will work around the restriction using the following strategy: We trigger the actual job daily, considering a custom-built, static NonWorkingDay-list that will just suppress the execution of the robot every day we don't want it to run.
These steps are needed:
Get a list with of all known bank holidays, saturdays and sundays until 2053 or so...
Build a the static exclusion-list using a script that does something like this (pseudocode. I will update the answer once we have actually implemented the solution):
1. get all valid execution dates
loop through every 28th of the month until end of 2053
if the date is in the bankHolidayList then
loop until the next bankDay is found
add it to the list of valid ExecutionDates
else
add the date to the validExecutionDate-list
2. build exclusion-list
loop through every day until end of 2053
if the date is not in the validExecutionDate-list
add it to the exclusionDate-list
Format the csv accordingly and upload it to the orchestrator tenant as a NonWorkingDay-List
Update your trigger to run daily at your desired time, using the uploaded NonWorkDay-Calendar
While the accepted answer will surely work as well, we prefered to go with this approach because having a separate robot that does nothing but executing a UiPath trigger just doesn't seem right to me. With this approach we have no additional code that we potentially need to maintain.
In my oppinion not having a solution for this concern out of the box is a lack of feature that UiPath will (hopefully) fix until end of 2053 ;-)
Cheers
You can configure your trigger to launch oftener, then manage dates at init of your process, but you must set up a list of "holydays" or check in some way.
Also you can use the calendar option of orchestrator (+info)
I want to create a Word template which will:
a) prompt user for a date
b) display that date
c) calculate other dates from that date.
I'm using MS Word 2016.
I've never done anything like this in Word but after doing a bit of research I see that there are advanced options in Word which maybe I could use for that. I don't want to use macros for this as I'm thinking that if I can make this work, then I would share this template with the rest of the company and I don't want them to enable macros (we have enough security concerns without that).
I've tried to use a FILLIN field to prompt user for a date. This works, however, I would like this field to be a variable which I can reference later in the document. I haven't found a way to do that with my FILLIN field. Is it possible?
I've seen others mention DocProperties but I'm having a hard time making it work.
For example, if I go to Quick Parts -> Document Property, none of the options are for a custom date. Is there a way to add your own?
And if I go to Quick Parts -> Fields, I see Date, CreateDate, SaveDate which insert "today's date" - not what I want. Again, how do I add my own Field?
I could do this in many ways by using Excel but I wanted to see if I can make it happen with Word. I hope you guys will have an idea.
I use org-mode to clock my work and sometimes I work past midnight for few hours.
So, for example, I clocked time starting 03.06.2013 10pm and ending 04.06.2013 2am.
And org-mode is dividing it at 0am, starting new day. But it would be more convinient for me if that time 0am-2am was recorded for 03.06.2013 instead of 04.06.2013.
So I want to be able to specify at what time (say, 4am) org-mode is deciding the new day has started.
I can use a workaround by shifting timezone for the emacs process, but then I need to keep in mind that all recorded time is shifted... Not very convinient.
See the variable org-extend-today-until, a variable defined in org.el.
Documentation:
The hour when your day really ends. Must be an integer.
This has influence for the following applications:
When switching the agenda to "today". It it is still earlier than
the time given here, the day recognized as TODAY is actually yesterday.
When a date is read from the user and it is still before the time given
here, the current date and time will be assumed to be yesterday, 23:59.
Also, timestamps inserted in capture templates follow this rule.
I have company website, with many offices around the world (around 50 offices).
The company want to create a gift giveaway with the employees in a specific company each specific day.
For example:
Office 1: will do the giveaway the days: 1/1/2010, 7/1/2010, 15/1/2010, etc...
Office 2: the days: 2/1/2010, 9/1/2010, 19/1/2010, etc...
Office 3: ....
Office 50: ...
(the days are setup manually to specific offices, no need of an algorithm here)
I have a node per Office, it's a CCK content type with details of each office (location, phone, email, etc), now I need to assign those days to the offices.
But my problem here is that I don't need to create events (or at least node events) because I don't need to store any data in the event. Just need to say: Office 1? Yes, days 1/1/2010, 7/1/2010, etc...
Nothing else, just to know the dates.
And, if possible, make them available to display in the calendar module.
What is your suggestion?
Withs CCK and date module you can create date fields, but if you have many fields you want to add, this might not be the best solution.
You have two general ways of solving this issue. Either you need store each date. This could be done with date field, not sure if it can handle multiple values, node reference or similar. This is inefective it some ways, but will make it easy to generate calendar view.
You could also write a string with as the date info and let php convert it to dates. This route will make it easier to create and store the data, but will make it a lot harder to get things integrated with calendar.
The fatest / easiest solution would probably be node reference with a date module, combined with a script to create all the nodes need. Instead of making them inside Drupal.
You could also create a custom module that stores this info for you. It would be a more longterm solution and require more work to integrate it with views and date/calendar modules.
There are many ways to go about this, but it really depends on your need, skill and time
Why not use a plain old CCK text field with a good clear description of what it's for and how to format it with something in the help section to back it up?
Use a text area (multiple rows) and apply the default input format that converts lines line breaks. I like to use the mark down filter too.
You could also use multiple single line fields in place of a text area...
This assumes your users are smart enough to enter the correct info of course but that's what the help and description are for. If your users can't be trusted to enter the content in correctly then yes, go for something that forces them to do so.
Ok I've found the solution myself and I want to share it with you:
Created three content types:
Office: with data of the office
Days: with a node per day (365 * year)
and Giveaway: with two node-reference fields, one for Office and another for Day.
(Days must be populated manually using a script that fills the upcoming 2 years or so).
So I can fill only Giveaway content type, and that's enough.
And then only the views are remaining.
