I created a new application using the command
activator new myapp play-java
Then, without modifying anything, I used
activator ui
For opening the admin web console of the new project. Then, I generated the eclipse project of my application from that console. Then I imported the project into a new eclipse workspace and it was good, but when I did run the IntegrationTest class (right click on the file) I got this exception:

Somebody knows how do I fix that?
Thanks a lot !
Most likely caused by Eclipse running sbt to build the workspace concurrently with activator. This thread has an in-depth explanation. Try turning off "Build Automatically" in Eclipse, or instruct it to build to a different directory than target.

I'm following the data-validator tool from target:
https://github.com/target/data-validator
But I'm unable to sort this thing out.
You can find the jar file at:
https://github.com/target/data-validator/releases
Hence I would request your help in running this tool.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks.
From the GitHub's README:
Assemble fat jar: sbt clean assembly
spark-submit --master local data-validator-assembly-0.13.0.jar --help
You need a fat jar of data-validator + its dependencies to be able to run it. You've only provided the data-validator simple jar.
I am modernizing a project that's been built using Eclipse Kepler's Export control for a few years. I ran into issues trying to jump straight to my end configuration (Java 8, Tomcat 8, CXF, and using Maven for builds) so I'm trying to do it piecemeal, and I've been stuck for two days.
I am using Eclipse Mars.2 Release (4.5.2).
For historical reasons, I have two projects, MyImpl project with all of the business logic (which is also the client/consumer of a remote web service, hence the CXF), and MyWebApp, a struts 1 dynamic web project. Everything was good running in Java 7/Tomcat 7. I am trying to introduce Maven, first into the MyImpl project, then into MyWebApp project, and finally building the web service client code.
I rearranged the source code to the maven way (/src/main/java, /src/test/java, etc.) Then I added a POM.xml with all my dependencies for MyImpl project. MyImpl project builds just fine, and MyWebApp project references MyImpl project in Eclipse, so that is good, too. Everything builds, no red Xs. Our test cases are, ahem, not well developed at this point in time, so I can't run those.
When I try and run on Tomcat 7 inside Eclipse, the Servers tab shows MyWebApp project under the Tomcat 7 server, but it does not show MyImpl project under MyWebApp project, as it did before. Yes, Java Build Path/Projects shows that MyWebApp project depends on MyImpl project. Otherwise it wouldn't build.
Tomcat fails to start up with a NoClassDefFoundError:

I'm studying Play Framework 2.x and I have installed the framework, with the activator 1.2.3, on my Fedora FC20. Now I'm facing a strange error on launching the activator new, that never happened before. I've tried with java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.65-2.5.1.2.fc20.i386 and also with openjedk 1.8.0, but this error is still here.

You can try to delete and recreate your local repo (not quite sure which one applies to you):
~/.m2/repository
~/.ivy2/cache
~/.ivy/cache
Also, there was a play clean command before they switched to the activator. There should be something like activator clean now. After this you can try with activator compile.
Edit: as #sentenza pointed out, removing ~/.sbt was the correct step which solved the problem. I will still leave the other options above as they might work for somebody else.
I just installed Maven on Eclipse. If I run the pom.xml, I get the error below.
People who use Windows don't get this error. I have Mac OS X.
When I add slf4j-simple-1.7.5.jr and slf4j-api-1.7.5.jar to the build path, it works.
Is there a way NOT to add external jars?
EDIT 2:
I used Maven clean via Terminal and that worked. I think the problem is Maven internal in Eclipse.
EDIT 3:
I deleted the projects and checked out it all from SVN and it worked somehow.

If your code makes use of slf4j, you'll also have to add the API and one of the implementation jars to your project. So the answer is: no.
I have just downloaded Intellij 12.01 (build #IC-123.94) and once I try to build a Scala project I get the following stacktrace:

Apparently, the problem comes from the openapi.jar inside the Intellij's lib folder, which was supposed to contain such a class.
Any pointers?
Regards.
Had the same issue with Idea 12, but after updating the Scala plugin to version 0.7.62, problem has been solved for me.
However, you can try to follow Idea's advice:
In case of any compilation problems you may enable the previous (internal) compiler by clearing:
Project Settings / Compiler / Use external build
Same issue for me too, fixed by updating to nightly builds (0.7.82), instructions available here: http://confluence.jetbrains.net/display/SCA/Scala+Plugin+Nightly+Builds+for+Leda
