How specify description in chrome developer dashboard? - google-chrome-app

I'm not able to specify the bolded description text separately from the description beneath. They're both showing up as the same text, just one is larger and bold:
A simple question, but I can't seem to easily find any clear documentation on it. Is one specified in the manifest and the other specified via the developer dashboard? If so, that doesn't seem like an easy way to manage that user-facing copy.
https://developer.chrome.com/apps/manifest/description

You have to do it in the developer dashboard. Uploaded a picture of mine, but removed my app info.
Fill out the detailed description box, outlined in black.

Flutter: How do I programmatically create home screen/desktop shortcut icons?

Basically, I have an app that supports multiple profiles, and i would like to give the option of creating icons that link directly to the profile with their own icon and name, which can be sourced dynamically.
I already have deep/dynamic linking set up (whichever one does custom schemes)
I just dont know how to create the icons.
I cant seem to figure out what search queries would find what I want without just finding firebase_dynamic_links as I'm not using Firebase.
It should be a local link that opens the app to the correct profile.
Preferably something that works both on mobile and desktop
This seems like the sort of thing someone would have made a package for, but I cant find it. Please tell me I dont have to create one myself!
There does appear to be others with similar questions, but none are properly answered, besides the firebase_dynamic_links one, which isnt useful to me.
I found firebase_dynamic_links, but as I am not using Firebase, its not what I need.
Nothing I search appears to find what I need... am I missing something obvious?
It should be simple right? Create a shortcut link with an image, name, and destination!

How to get larger favicon from Google's api?

Is it possible to get a larger version of the favicon from the Google's api or from somewhere else?
This is the url.
http://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=google.com
I searched for an alternative api on ProgrammableWeb and Google but many of them don't exist anymore and the one I found that actually seems to work isn't free. (http://grabicon.com/)
I need the icon for a VB.NET project that has a list of websites with icons. But 16x16 icons are too small for that.
looks like there is size parameter in google now.

Editted:
The below answer is no longer valid, but the code is freely available on github:

You can also try Statvoo's Favicon API, e.g.
https://api.statvoo.com/favicon/?url=google.com
https://api.statvoo.com/favicon/?url=stackoverflow.com
etc..
They also have quite a few other API's you can use if you look around. Most of which are free and have been around for years.
Looks like Google has an size attribute too.
https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?sz=64&domain_url=https://stackoverflow.com/
Here's some Favicon Fetchers I have found
Free Favicon-Service by AllesEDV.at - https://f1.allesedv.com/stackoverflow.com
Google Favicon Snatcher - https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=stackoverflow.com
Favicon Grabber - http://favicongrabber.com/api/grab/stackoverflow.com
For Favicon Grabber it will return as JSON list of icon URLs.
Alternatively you can load the main page of the site and figure it out from there: https://stackoverflow.com/a/1990487/
According to https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17190599:
Unless that endpoint can also return other resolutions, Favicon Kit
offers more: https://api.faviconkit.com/twitter.com/144
https://api.faviconkit.com/twitter.com/16
(Though, I will say, the URIs returned for Twitter and the image sizes
don't actually align in those cases. The first is actually 192ˣ192
pixels, and the second is 32ˣ32 pixels. That seems odd. Maybe they
should have endpoints like domain/large, domain/medium, domain/small?)
Favicons are specified either as part of the HTML page, the HTTP response to a request for a page, or simply by being hosted at a default location.
That's true for all sites. There's plenty of browser extensions that can help you figure out the favicons a page send, if you don't manage by hand. For example, right clicking in firefox, "Page Info", "Media", "sort by type"->"Icon" should show all icons that a browser can find. It's not usual to have Icons larger than 32x32, and google might not be an exception.
Also be aware that the .ico format can contain multiple Icon sizes that not all tools show. So saving that .ico on your computer and inspecting it with a tool known to deal with all sizes contained in a single file might help.
Last word of advice: You're dealing with the logo, the very core of their brand, of a multi-billion dollar company. You might want to check with their policy of using that logo in your project. Probably it's OK (for example, browser don't seem to get in trouble for having a google logo for their google search box), but I'd still take care not to raise the impression that you're association a product of your own making with their logo.

Official Facebook Connect button as PNG

Is there any official Facebook Connect button, as a image file?
There a lot of really different images on the web, with different sizes, different styles (and even colors), different licenses, free and paid. But I believe there should be some official example, as PNG image.
I know that by using https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/login/ I can generate HTML and make screenshot, but seems that it's too hacky, and I'm just missing right page. Is it?
Brand Permissions Center doesn't have 'Connect' button
You can get the official "Log in with Facebook" button here. ZIP has PNGs for different sizes
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/checklist/#brandedlogin
EDIT 26/07/2014: Facebook seems to have removed those image assets. They now suggest you using a Javascript log in button with their button style. https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/login-button
EDIT 21/02/2018: Facebook has updated the guidelines with a new "Continue on Facebook" button image asset
Would comment on existing answer, but rep... =\
You can still download the icon here. I guess they've dedicated a separate domain to it now. I believe they will always have to provide you with an icon alternative since they require, just as google does:
The "f" Logo may be used alone or alongside other social icons. It should be used at equal size to neighboring icons. Be sure to maintain its shape and proportions and provide adequate clear space between logos.
You can't really do this consistently without a proper icon.

Is it possible to get the page number and line number in iPhone

Is it possible to get the page number and line number of particular text from doc/rtf/pdf in iPhone sdk?
Can QLPreviewController or UIDocumentInteractionController be of any help?
EDIT:
I am trying to create something like iAnnotate,Sente. Application where in user will be able to select some text and can add comments for selected text.
I have gone through the fastpdfkit api's which seems the only api which can be of some help.
Can you guys guide me in the right direction.
https://github.com/brow/leaves
Go with this link, it will help you for PDF reader and you can see there how I am doing total page and current page.
If you're looking at doing this with PDF, RTF and DOC it might be best to approach it in a different way as they are all very different formats.
Instead - if you consider attaching comments to an area of the page as opposed to a specific text selection then all you need to know about the document is which page you're looking at. A much easier task. Then you get the user to 'drag out' a comments box for an area of that page. Think of them more like sticky-notes.
This way you can add comments to images as well as text and it allows a much more flexible system for support of other file formats in the future.
I realise this isn't I direct answer to the question, but thought it relevant enough to post.

Adding a custom css file to a Facebook "Activity Feed"

I would like to know if there is a way to add a custom css file to an activity feed (http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/activity).
Ive tried adding a css="url.to.css" property, but it didnt work. Thanks
Use this way:
<fb:tag name='link'>
<fb:tag-attribute name='rel'>stylesheet</fb:tag-attribute>
<fb:tag-attribute name='href'>YOUR_FACEBOOK_CANVAS_PAGE/style.css</fb:tag-attribute>
<fb:tag-attribute name='type'>text/css</fb:tag-attribute>
<fb:tag-attribute name='media'>all</fb:tag-attribute>
</fb:tag>
It will be added to your page. Don't forget to edit URL.
I managed to customise an Activity plugin, after a great deal of effort.
You can see the result here:
http://www.quniverse.co.uk/shopdata/about_us.php
Feel free to post a comment on that site, it exists purely for test purposes so I'm not fussed what goes up there provided its clean. Plus if you like the page it will show up as activity. Please don't feel obliged to though.
I explain how I achieved this in the blog article posted here:
http://facebookanswers.co.uk/?p=302
To summarise briefly:
You cannot insert CSS into the activity plugin.
Rely on the fact it has a transparent background, and supply your own.
Turn off the header and supply your own.
You can specify a light or a dark font, a few fontfaces and a border colour, when you create the plugin.
If you read the blog article you will get a full explanation.
