I read cocoa pods documents and many times try to installed but always fail to installed because in starting steps i found one error so i can't install gems first. can anyone give me steps one by one? how to install or demo.

or i try
$ sudo gem install cocoapods -V

Just try this before install cocoa pods
$ sudo gem update —system
then use this commond
$ sudo gem install cocoapods

Seems like an issue with your Ruby installation. You're running 1.8.7(mentioned in comment) which has been retired: https://www.ruby-lang.org/en/news/2013/06/30/we-retire-1-8-7/
Update Ruby(see https://www.ruby-lang.org/en/) and then run:
sudo gem update --system
sudo gem install cocoapods

After a lot of searching I finally came across a solution that I believe works. If you are use Mac OS Catalina you need to use Brew.
Open Terminal on your Mac.
Now, run
ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null
Install cocoapods using brew
brew install cocoapods
cocoapods is ready to use now!
While am compile using swift build, am getting following error in my Ubuntu machine
$swift build
/home/xxxxxxxxx/Downloads/swift-DEVELOPMENT-SNAPSHOT-2016-02-25-a-ubuntu15.10/us
r/bin/swift-build: error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.55: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory

You can manually download the good .dep
wget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/i/icu/libicu55_55.1-7_amd64.deb
Then you run:
sudo dpkg -i libicu55_55.1-7_amd64.deb
If it miss some dependency:
sudo apt-get -f install
It has worked for me.
Your can find the other architecture on the debian package website :
https://packages.debian.org/sid/libicu55
p.s: I know this is on SID, but this is the only version that I found

Your system lacks a critical component for building Swift, libicu-dev.
Install this:
sudo apt-get install libicu-dev
But that was for building Swift from source. You were talking about building with Swift, my apologies.
Unfortunately it seems it won't work either: Swift for Linux only officially runs on Ubuntu 15.10 and 14.04, and you tell me in the comments that you're running 15.04.
I know there's tutorials on the web on how to make it work on Mint and other distros... But the best would be, if possible, that you update your install of course.
I searched on the net and find a list in debian packages that shows the libicuuc.so.55 file.
apt-get install libicu55
Will resolve the issue.

Close, but you're missing "install" in the above yum command.
First, if you haven't already, import the key ->
sudo rpm --import http://apt.sw.be/RPM-GPG-KEY.dag.txt
Then 'yum install' ->
sudo yum install http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el7.rf.x86_64.rpm
Try running:
rpm -Uvh http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el7.rf.x86_64.rpm
as root and it should work.
I had the same issue, and it was due to the fact that i was installing the wrong package, Note that "rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1" is a 0.5.3-1 release.
When I got the right release "epel-release-7-0.2" which is 7-0.2 as per the command:
sudo rpm -Uvh http://fedora.mirrors.romtelecom.ro/pub/epel/beta/7/x86_64/epel-release-7-0.2.noarch.rpm
The installation of the package was successful, and I could install phpMyAdmin later.
P.S: my CentOS is 7.
I am in the process of installing PostGis over psql on a Debian machine (actually crunchbang).
I have completed the following steps:
$ wget http://download.osgeo.org/postgis/source/postgis-2.0.3.tar.gz
$ tar xzf postgis-2.0.3.tar.gz
$ cd postgis-2.0.3
$ ./configure
On the final step I get the following error:
configure: error: the PGXS Makefile /usr/lib/postgresql/9.1/lib/pgxs/src/makefiles/pgxs.mk cannot be found. Please install the PostgreSQL server development packages and re-run configure.
The issue is that I do already have Postgres installed:
$ psql --version
psql (9.1.9)
I have checked this on two machines with the same configuration and get the same error. What am I missing here?
PostgreSQL is broken down into several packages, and having psql installed doesn't imply that the development packages are also installed.
According to the error message:
Please install the PostgreSQL server development packages and re-run
configure
you need:
# apt-get install postgresql-server-dev-9.1
Also note there's a APT pgdg repository providing recent pre-compiled versions of postgres-related packages (including postgis) that you may use instead of self-compiling.
If your system is set up to use this repository, just do:
# apt-get install postgresql-9.1-postgis-2.0
Daniel's answer works great except that it needs the following update:
$ sudo apt-get install postgresql-9.1-postgis-2.1
These packages can be updated some time in future again. So, it is recommended to search for new packages using aptitude and install the appropriate one:
$ aptitude search postgis

I just ran into the same problem. Run
sudo bundle update
inside your new site directory. Ruby will then have no trouble installing whatever packages it needs to.
I has the same issue and came across your post when I googled it. I had to run:
sudo gem install turbolinks -v '1.3.0'
sudo gem install uglifier -v '2.2.1'
sudo gem install multi_json -v '1.8.2'
before I could get the bundle install to complete. However, if you are reading the rails tutorial (http://ruby.railstutorial.org/ruby-on-rails-tutorial-book#sec-rubygems), it says not to worry if that stage fails, as the railsgem file is updated and you manually run:
bundle update
bundle install
