Phonegap App not including javascript files - facebook

Javascript files are not being pulled into my Phonegap app. This is a recent problem that is quite frankly driving me insane. This is the top of my index.html file:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://code.jquery.com/mobile/1.4.2/jquery.mobile-1.4.2.min.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/index.css" />
<title>Hello World</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="cordova.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?key=AIzaSyD90W6MypWGP6s4luD2kQHhZ9IFQrfr04g&sensor=true"></script>
<script src="https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?v=3.exp&sensor=false&libraries=visualization"></script>
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.9.1.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/mobile/1.4.2/jquery.mobile-1.4.2.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/index.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/facebook.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
app.initialize();
</script>
This is my facebook.js file that I'm trying to pull in:
$(document).on('ready' , function(){
console.log('ready')
function onDeviceReady(){
console.log('test')
var plugin = new CC.CordovaFacebook();
plugin.init('***************', 'myapp',
['email'],
function(response){console.log(response)},
function(failure){console.log(failure)});
var loginButton = $('#login-with-facebook');
loginButton.on('click' , function(e){
e.preventDefault();
plugin.login(function(token) {
console.log("Access token is: " + token);
}), function(failure){console.log(failure)});
})
}
if (window.cordova.logger) {window.cordova.logger.__onDeviceReady();};
onDeviceReady();
document.addEventListener("deviceready", onDeviceReady, false);
})
I can't console.long anything in the facebook.js file. What's driving me even more crazy is that it's worked on occasion. Are my files out of order? Also, I only seem to be running into this issue after installing one of the cordova facebook plugins. Does anybody know what's going on here?

Because you define your onDeviceReady function inside an anonymous event handler function, it won't be available until the DOM is loaded (and shouldn't only be accessible from within the event handler. This would only work properly if the device is ready before the DOM loads and only because onDeviceReady is manually invoked in the onDocumentReady event handler. Replace your facebook.js with the following.
function onDeviceReady(){
console.log('test')
var plugin = new CC.CordovaFacebook();
plugin.init('443530475777959', 'spencerspiegelapp',
['email'],
function(response){console.log(response)},
function(failure){console.log(failure)});
var loginButton = $('#login-with-facebook');
loginButton.on('click' , function(e){
e.preventDefault();
plugin.login(function(token) {
console.log("Access token is: " + token);
}), function(failure){console.log(failure)});
})
}
$(document).on('ready' , function() {
console.log('ready')
document.addEventListener("deviceready", onDeviceReady, false);
if (window.cordova.logger) {
window.cordova.logger.__onDeviceReady();
}
});

Meteor server api using iron router returns HTML not the response

I have a simple Meteor app just the basic meteor create test. I want to be able to route traffic to the "/" directory to a template.
I want to be able to route data from a facebook web-hook to a simple js response.
My issue is that when I fire the web-hook URL using postman it returns HTML and not my response.
I've tried many different options for other posts I have read but now have the most basic version to just get it working.
Here is the code I've used
main.html
<head>
<title>test</title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
<template name="home">
<form class="new-message">
<input type="text" name="message" placeholder="Testing">
</form>
</template>
main.js:
import { Meteor } from 'meteor/meteor';
import { Router } from 'meteor/iron:router';
import { Template } from 'meteor/templating';
import './main.html';
Router.route('/', function () {
this.render('home');
});
Router.route('/webhooks/facebook', function() {
var request = this.request;
var response = this.response;
response.end('webhook was called');
}, {
where: 'server'
});
All other files are exactly how they are created with meteor create.
I'm on Meteor version 1.8.1
I'm using postman to test the web-hook this is the created GET URL:
https://------.ngrok.io/webhooks/facebook?hub.verify_token=mytoken&hub.challenge=1234567&hub.mode=subscribe
code omitted to keep ngrok from getting slammed.
This is the response I'm getting:
<html>
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" class="__meteor-css__"
href="/merged-stylesheets.css?hash=6b1f9f6fb78291ae58da8ec4f36476931155453c">

So basically it returns HTML.
I'm sure I'm missing something simple.
Thanks in advance for you help. Usually I wait till I have exhausted all other options before posting here. And I'm sure I have tried every other example given here on StackOverflow.
My desired result is simple to just return a HTTP response "webhook was called" instead of the HTML garbage.
You could use somethings like this :
Router.map(function(){
this.route("routeName", {path: "/url/:param1/:optionalParam?,
where: "server",
action: function(){
var param = this.params.param1;
this.response.writeHead(200, {
'Content-Type': 'application/json',
'Access-Control-Allow-Origin': '*'
});
//authenticate call and decrypt body
if (this.request.method == 'POST') {
//do something
}
if (this.request.method == 'GET') {
//do something
}
}
});
this.route("abc", {path: "/api/get/user/activity/:temp1",
where: "server",
action: function(){
//proceed as above
}
});
});
For help, read through https://iron-meteor.github.io/iron-router/#server-routing
The router file should be saved inside the server folder (for server-side routes)
Haven't used iron route in a long time but from what I remember you want to change your server side route to the following as it is for restful routes.
Router.route('/webhooks/facebook', { where: 'server' })
.get(function () {
// GET
})
.post(function () {
// POST
})
.put(function () {
// PUT
})
For others who have been struggling getting both server and client routes to work on the same Meteor app here is the solution.
Iron routers newest version requires all server side routes to be on the server side and you must fire them from the startup.
All client routes are added on the client side and included in the main.js on the client side.
My simple test was this:
meteor create test
Then in clients/main.html replace the current code and add a simple template as follows:
<head>
<title>newroutetest</title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
<template name="home">
<h1>Home</h1>
</template>
Then in the client/main.js add your client routes as follows:
import { Template } from 'meteor/templating';
import './main.html';
Router.route('/', {
template: 'home'
});
Now we setup the server side route in the file server/main.js you add the route in the startup section as follows:
import { Meteor } from 'meteor/meteor';
Meteor.startup(() => {
Router.route('/webhook', function () {
var req = this.request;
var res = this.response;
res.end('hello from the server\n');
}, {where: 'server'});
});
That's It
I hope this helps others who have been struggling with this.

Where is in ember.js a good place to init JS plugins? [duplicate]

Help!
I'm working on a meaty emberjs/yeoman project that uses multiple hbs templates that can all be routed to from one application.hbs's sidebar.
The problem is when I load the page, sometimes the Jquery to make that sidebar collapse will not work while other jquery in that same file does. Sometimes nothing works at all.
I'm calling my javascript/jquery from one file called magic.js
<body>

<!-- // <script src="scripts/arcgislink_compiled.js" type="text/javascript"></script> -->
<script src="scripts/magic.js"></script> <!-- Controls UI based javascript. Buttons, pretty effects, animations, etc. -->
magic.js is the last thing called before the body closes.
This is the magic.js file
$( document ).ready(function() {
var close=true
$(".collapsibleHeader").click(function(){
$(this).siblings().slideToggle("fast");
});
// Sidebar START
$(".arrow").click(function() {
if($('.float-left-col').css('width')=='200px') {
$('.float-left-col').removeClass('open');
$('.float-left-col').addClass('closed');
$('.sidebar-button-text').addClass('vanish');
$('.arrow').removeClass('reverse-rotate');
$('.arrow').addClass('rotate');
$('.full-logo').addClass('vanish');
$('.logo-only-container').removeClass('vanish');
$('.content-container').css('margin-left','80px')
}
else {
$('.float-left-col').removeClass('closed');
$('.float-left-col').addClass('open');
$('.arrow').addClass('reverse-rotate');
$('.logo-only-container').addClass('vanish');
$('.full-logo').removeClass('vanish');
var delay = setTimeout(function(){
$('.sidebar-button-text').removeClass('vanish');},250)
$('.arrow').removeClass('rotate');
$('.content-container').css('margin-left','200px');
}
});
The sidebar that isn't working is in the application.hbs file so I'm not sure why it would stop loading.
<div class="super-col">
<div id="sidebar-wrapper" class="float-left-col open">
<ul class="nav nav-pills nav-stacked text-center">
//..stuff inside the sidebar..
Why is my javascript not loading properly? Should I be calling it in a different file/s?
You're probably trying to attach the jquery before the elements have been created. Document ready isn't necessarily the same time Ember's views are ready.
In your case you insert the sidebar in the application template, so in your application view you could add the jquery in the didInsertElement hook
App.ApplicationView = Em.View.extend({
doStuff: function(){
//do your jquery here, the element is in the page now
}.on('didInsertElement')
});
This pattern can be applied for other views as well throughout your app
App.FooView = Em.View.extend({
doStuff: function(){
// do some crazy stuff cause the foo template has been inserted!
}.on('didInsertElement')
});

Incorrectly Linking Javascript File?

I'm working on installing a PhoneGap plugin on an iPhone. The page for the plugin I am attempting to install can be seen here: https://github.com/phonegap/phonegap-plugins/tree/master/iPhone/MessageBox.
I believe I have narrowed down my problem to incorrectly working with the JavaScript file. I am including it on my HTML page like so:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="MessageBox.js"></script>
The rest of my HTML page is this:
<script type="text/javascript">
alert("test1");
var messageBox = window.plugins.messageBox;
alert("test2");
messageBox.alert('Title', 'Message', function(button) { console.warn('alert', [this, arguments]); });
</script>
I see an alert saying test1, but not the second alert. This makes me think that the error is on the line:
var messageBox = window.plugins.messageBox;
However, I'm not quite sure what I should be doing differently. From what I can tell, I've done all the necessary steps as described on the plugin's documentation page, seen here:
https://github.com/phonegap/phonegap-plugins/blob/master/iPhone/MessageBox/README.md
(As expected, I also do not see the output of the messageBox.alert... line when viewing this through the iOS simulator.)
I would appreciate any help with this issue, thanks!
NOTE: my initial thread regarding this topic can be seen here: Trouble Installing PhoneGap Plugin
EDIT: I should also add that I have the exact same problem when trying to install a different (but similar) plugin, known as "Prompt"
EDIT2: Here's my index.html:
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="phonegap-1.4.1.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="MessageBox.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
function onBodyLoad()
{
document.addEventListener("deviceready", onDeviceReady, false);
}
function onDeviceReady()
{
navigator.notification.alert("PhoneGap is working");
window.location.href="otherpage.html";
}
</script>
The problem is that when you try to create your MessageBox, PhoneGap is not ready yet.
You just need to wait for PhoneGap to be ready before you execute your code :
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="phonegap-1.4.1.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8">
document.addEventListener("deviceready", onDeviceReady, false);
function onDeviceReady() {
window.location="otherpage.html";
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
Then, on otherpage.html :
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="phonegap-1.4.1.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="MessageBox.js"></script>
</head>
<body onload="onLoad()">
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8">
function onLoad() {
document.addEventListener("deviceready", onDeviceReady, false);
}
// PhoneGap is loaded and it is now safe to make calls PhoneGap methods
//
function onDeviceReady() {
console.log("onLoad");
var messageBox = window.plugins.messageBox;
messageBox.alert('Title', 'Message', function(button) { console.warn('alert', [this, arguments]); });
}
</script>
</body>
</html>
I tested it on PhoneGap 1.4.1

facebook: FB.Canvas.setSize not working

I have created a facebook app that will be displayed on my companies fan page as a tab. The app renders at 951px so it doesn't fit in the default height of the fan page tab. I've read facebook's horrible documentation for their js sdk and have tried so many different variations - all of them not working at all. Here's my current attempt to resize the fan page tab to fit my app...
<head>
<!-- css / js / meta info here -->
<script type="text/javascript">
window.fbAsyncInit = function() {
FB.Canvas.setSize();
}
function sizeChangeCallback() {
FB.Canvas.setSize();
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<!-- content goes here -->
<div id="fb-root">
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
FB.init({
appId:'xxxxxxxxxx',
status:true,
cookie:true,
xfbml:true,
});
</script>
</div>
</body>
I've also tried async init and using setAutoResize() with no luck.
Thanks for any and all suggestions...

<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
window.fbAsyncInit = function()
{
FB.Canvas.setSize();
}
</script>
</head>
.

<div id="fb-root"></div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
FB.init({
appId: 'xxxxxxxx',
status: true,
cookie: true,
xfbml: true
});
/* Init fb Resize window */

/* As of Jan 2012 you need to use */
FB.Canvas.setAutoGrow(7);
</script>
</body>
</html>
I just spent over an hour trying to fix this in my app and I wanted to mention a couple of basics that you have to follow for this to work.
You have to include a div with an id of fb-root before you include the all.js file and before any JS code using the FB object.
The all.js file should be included below the fb-root div and above any actual JS code using the FB object
Finally, any JS code using the FB object should be below the fb-root div and the all.js include
There were no errors in my code, but it was refusing to work because I was including all.js and my JS code in the <head> element and my fb-root div was in the <body>. Here's what I had to change it to:
...
<head>
<!-- include jQuery so we can use window.load below -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js" ></script>
...
</head>
<body>
<!-- the div has to come first which forces the JS include and code to be put below it -->
<div id="fb-root"></div>
<!-- then we have to include the all.js file -->
<script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<!-- and finally we can use the FB JS SDK and it will actually work :) -->
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8">
FB.init({
appId: '...',
status: true,
cookie: true,
xfbml: true
});
jQuery(window).load(function(){
//resize our tab app canvas after our content has finished loading
FB.Canvas.setSize();
});
</script>
...
Obviously the 3 elements I mentioned don't have to be right after each other, but they do have to show up in this order in your source code. This really threw me for a loop so hopefully this will save someone some time and frustration :)
It usually works if Facebook can calculate the height of your page. However if you have a responsive design this is not possible.
I am using a hack that does the job using jQuery to calculate the height of the wrapper div and then explicitly set it:
FB.Canvas.setDoneLoading( function(result) {
FB.Canvas.setSize({height: $('#wrapper').height() });
});
This should go in your FB.init() method.
if for some reason window.name is set the FB.setAutoSize wont work, http://bugs.developers.facebook.net/show_bug.cgi?id=19720
in my case its connected somehow to jquery $.data
window.fbAsyncInit=function(){
FB.Canvas.setSize = function(b) {
if (typeof b!="object")
b={};
b=b||{};
if (b.width==null||b.height==null)
b=FB.copy(b,FB.Canvas._computeContentSize());
b=FB.copy(b,{frame:'iframe_canvas'});
if (FB.Canvas._lastSize[b.frame]) {
var a=FB.Canvas._lastSize[b.frame].height;
if(FB.Canvas._lastSize[b.frame].width==b.width&&(b.height<=a&&(Math.abs(a-b.height)<=16)))
return false;
}
FB.Canvas._lastSize[b.frame]=b;FB.Arbiter.inform('setSize',b);
return true;
}
FB.init({
appId:APP_ID, //your app id (Numeric)
status:true,
cookie:true,
xfbml:true
});
FB.Canvas.setAutoResize()
};
I'm found the solution for fix issues when using jQuery and FB.setSize() - if you set vars definition before $(function(){}) (jQuery DOM ready) - setSize doesn't work. If all vars definition located inside $(function(){ all vars HERE }) - setSize starts working!
You might need to wait for images to be loaded. Otherwise the FB.Canvas.setSize(); might fire too soon and not include image sizes.
With jQuery use:
$(window).load(function(){
FB.Canvas.setSize();
});
Found a solution to reduce the height again if the content sites of your App have different heights. Usually the height increases easily but doesn't decrease to a smaller site again.
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
window.fbAsyncInit = function()
{
FB.Canvas.setSize({ width: 810, height: 920 });
/*{ set here the needed site height }*/
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="fb-root"></div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
FB.init({
appId: 'App ID', /*{ set here your App ID }*/
status: true,
cookie: true,
xfbml: true
});
/* Init fb Resize window */
/* Completly removed now in JS SDK*/
FB.Canvas.setAutoResize(7);
/* As of Jan 2012 you need to use */
FB.Canvas.setAutoGrow(7);
</script>
</body>
This is how I initialise my facebook applications:
<div id="fb-root"></div>
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8">
window.fbAsyncInit = function() {
FB.init({
appId : appId,
status : true,
cookie : true,
xfbml : true
});
// Additional initialization code such as adding Event Listeners goes here
FB.Canvas.setSize({ width: 810, height: 620 }); // ******* THIS WORKS.
};
(function(d) {
var js, id = 'facebook-jssdk'; if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;}
js = d.createElement('script'); js.id = id; js.async = true;
js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js";
d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(js);
}(document));
</script>
here is what I use:
<head>
...
<script type="text/javascript">
function facebookInit(appId) {
FB.init({
appId : appId,
status : true,
cookie : true,
xfbml : true
});
}
function increaseIframeSize(w,h) {
var obj = new Object;
obj.width=w;
obj.height=h;
FB.Canvas.setSize(obj);
}
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://connect.facebook.net/de_DE/all.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<script>
increaseIframeSize(720,800);
facebookInit(appId);
</script>
...
</body>
I also noticed the setSize call fails if the user's "Secure Browsing" setting is disabled. This may not be an issue for most, since the setting is enabled by default, but if you're running into this issue and now have an almost-bald head (like I do), check this setting on the account you're testing with.

tinymce toolbar

How can I do Tinymce toolbar draggable with jQuery?
Try this in your tinyMCE init method
tinyMCE.init({
// ...
handle_event_callback : function(e) {
if(e.type == 'click') {
$('.mceExternalToolbar').draggable();
}
return true;
}
});
Include the following jQuery UI files :
<script type="text/javascript" src="tiny_mce.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.5.1.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.ui.core.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.ui.widget.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.ui.mouse.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.ui.draggable.js"></script>
Note that i've tried this only with one tinyMCE instance.
I don't know if there are some side effects of this workaround, but it's working for now.
