At my company, an internet platform, we have a set up with Paypal adaptive payments allowing merchant across the world selling digital goods to local and international buyers, with a fee sent to us via adaptive payments.
According to PayPal's documentation at https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/products/adaptive-payments/
"You can use Adaptive Payments in any country where PayPal is accepted."
We have now had reports from potential merchants from both India and Georgia stating that they cannot make the connection to our service work with the PayPal accounts.
Am I missing something? Shouldn't it work with a simple PayPal account in these countries or do the potential merchants needs any special approval from Paypal or are there other prerequisites?
We are using PayPal pro in our application. Now, we want to use adaptive payments in our application.
Ex. if a user buy a product of $100 from our application then $97.00 will be given to my vendor and $3.00 will be given to my account.
We try to find out the solution for this but can't find any info.
Adaptive Payments is a feature which is compatible with a PayPal Business/Premier Accounts. The same is supported in PayPal Payments PRO too.
You will just need to login to paypal-apps.com->Create an application->You will get APP ID upon approval that you can use in your Adaptive Payment API calls.
Does paypal direct payment api support transactions between individuals that reside in australia. What countries does it support.
To my knowledge the DoDirectPayment API (Website Payments Pro) is only supported in the US, UK, and Canada.
That said, the PayPal AU page does have an application for it here: https://www.paypal.com/au/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_wp-pro-overview-outside
You could always try signing up or just give them a call. It may be that "Pro" is available in Australia, but only the "Pro Hosted" which is a little different and works in an iframe on your site.
In the Website Payments Pro Hosted Solution Integration Guide (Payflow Edition) for UK document there are some errors described. One of the errors are:
31 'Error in adding the recurring profile'
But it this document does not state how can I add a recurring profile using the hosted solution. This is what I am looking for.
Thank you.
EDIT:
What I found interesting is that the other guide (non-PayFlow Edition) it says recurring payments are not supported by PayPal Pro Hosted Solution, but in this one there is no information about recurring payment.
Yes, Recurring Payments are not supported in Hosted Sole Solution.
You can use Recurring payments only if you have a PayPal Payments PRO account(which is available in US,UK and CA) else use Recurring Billing in Payflow(available in US,UK,AUS).
In the PayPal Payflow page it says that is available in US, CAN, AUS, New Zealand, but not in UK.
I am setting up a site where users can subscribe on a yearly basis.
I have it complete through the payment pro api but completely missed the charges.
If i understand it correctly, its £20 a month for pro and £20 a month for repeat billing.
Is this correct?
To create a subscription site, is paypal pro my only option ? does paypal offer other, cheaper options?
Really confused with their site and information.
You could use PayPal Website Payments Standard and use subscription buttons. There is no monthly charge for this service. The only charge would be a transaction fee for each transaction or subscription charge.
