APEX 4.0 - How to load items when using select - select

I have a question about APEX, I have the problem that when I try to select a value from a selectbox, no value shows in the other items. What I have tried to do is loading data from the database to the items when I select a code from the selectbox with PL/SQL. How do I do this? Selecting a code from a selectbox and filling all the other items?

Ok if i understand you right you need a List of Values.
If you create this shared Object. Use a dynamic list.
There you have a dialog you can put a PL/SQL or SQL Code snippet into.
You must return a 2 column list. The first Column is the field name in you later select box and the second is you reference.

Update chart after changing a field in an APEX form

How do I cause APEX to refresh a chart (graph) after I change the value in a text box/select list/etc that is used as a parameter in the chart's pl/sql statement?
I'd like it to look as professional as possible and minimize the portion of the page that must be refreshed (i.e., "ajax-like", which is the standard in 2018).
Create a dynamic action on the text box/select list/etc that is changed with event "change"
Create a true action and select pl/sql and write
Begin
null;
end;
In page items to submit select your items
Create a second true action after the first and select Refresh. Then select region as affected element and select your chart. Remember that the option 'Fire on initialization' must be set to NO
See Approach B, below, for the optimal solution.
Approach A
The simplest option (that is less professional) is to modify every text box/select list/etc of interest to submit the page when the value of the text box/select list/etc changes. As an example, for the select list, go to its settings->page action on selection and change the setting to submit page.
There are two main downsides to that approach:
Most of the page will refresh, which is jarring to your user, and
If you're using a plugin, or the type of item that you're using doesn't support that approach, then you're out of luck.
Approach B
A more complex solution that yields a more professional result follows. This solution involves dynamic actions, which I will probably not fully explain here. However, the information should be enough for the user to figure it out.
Let us suppose that you have two things: (1) a select list whose value is used as a parameter in a (2) chart's sql source statement.
To get the chart to update every time you make a new choice via the select list, you need to:
Create a dynamic action for the select list of interest. You do this by clicking on the select list, going to the dynamic action tab (the lightning bolt); right-click on the item; click select dynamic action; give it a name and set the event to change and make the selection type an item and set the item to the name of the select list you're watching.
Create a true action for that dynamic action that executes pl/sql code (you can do this by modifying the show action that was created by default in 1.). Set the pl/sql code to null;. Then under items to submit, specify the name of the select list of interest.
Create a second true action that refreshes the region that contains the chart.
You'll need to make sure that the sequence assigned to 2. is a smaller number than the sequence assigned to 3.. This should happen by default, but it's an area you can get tripped up.
Inapplicable Approach C
In Apex 5.something, they added a feature called Cascading List of Values. This feature allows you to specify that one item depends on another item for its values. For example, if you have a select list that allows the user to choose a department, and then you have a second select list that allows you to choose an employee from the chosen department (which presumably obtains its values from a query involving the value chosen in the first select list), you can tell APEX to refresh the second select list whenever you update the first.
You do this by editing the second select list. Under its settings goto list of values->cascading LOV parent item(s). Add the first select list as a "reverse" dependent (aka, "parent"). This will ensure that any time the first select list is updated, the second select list is also updated.
For better or for worse, charts do not have the cascading LOV parent item(s) setting. Thus, this solution does not apply to this question.

How I can add a row and input field on button click in lotus note 8.5. form?

I have question about Lotus Note. I have form: http://i.stack.imgur.com/YWii6.jpg
In this form I need create bottom. With this buttom user can add new row with input field in this row to existing table. I find that kind of lotusscript from:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSVRGU_9.0.1/com.ibm.designer.domino.main.doc/H_EXAMPLES_ADDROW_METHOD_RTTABLE.html
But when I this script copied to this form, I get error "Object variable no set"
Then I tried this solotion:
LotusNotes 8.5 - Adding a row to a table with a button
And I again get the same error.
Can anybody tell me please, how I can create new row and input field in this row, when I pressed buttom "Add row"?
You can't make a table with a dynamic amount of rows in a Lotus Notes Form. There are two common ways to solve this:
Use child-documents; one document for each row; and show these documents using an embedded view. This is the most elegant imho.
Create a large, fixed-elements table, and hide the rows that are not needed (for instance, by checking the presence of an input in the preceding row. This is OK for small amounts of row, but performance starts getting bad if you have too many rows.
It seems you are a bit confused as to the difference between a form (your picture) and a document (the code you link). Also, you definitely need to understand the meaning of "Object variable not set", which is the most common error when you use Lotusscript.
Anyhow, where to go from here depends on how you plan using the data once it is input. Will it be edited ? Will each row need to be handled as a separate record ?

SSRS Multiple Dataset Errors

I have a simple SSRS report that displays data from one table. What I want to do is have a distinct list from that table displayed in a drop down list for the user to select. If I only use one dataset I can get it to display, but it displays values from the column multiple times.
Example
Bob
Bob
Bob
Cathy
Cathy
If I create a second dataset that will list distinct values I get the following error message:
An Error occurred during local report processing. The definition of the report is invalid. The Variable expression for the report 'body' refers directly to the field without specifying a dataset aggregate. When the report contains multiple datasets, field references outside of a data region must be contained within aggregate functions which specify a dataset scope.
I"m trying to follow the example I found here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337400.aspx
The second dataset is only for the parameter list. I don't understand why it's causing problems with the actual report.
It's impossible to tell exactly where without the report definition, but there is an item on the report that is referencing a field or Dataset, and was implicitly using the only Dataset present in the report, but now doesn't know which Dataset to use once more than one is added to the report.
For example, when you create a table you can set a Dataset associated with it. If this is not set and there is only one Dataset, it doesn't matter as it will take the only one available. Once you add a new Dataset, the table doesn't know which one to use and you'll get the error you're seeing.
Another way to get the error is specifying a field in an expression, e.g. in a TextBox in the report somewhere without specifying the scope; just set the scope to a particular Dataset e.g. if you have:
=Count(Fields!name.Value)
change this to:
=Count(Fields!name.Value, "DatasetToUse")
If you've only got one Dataset the first expression will run fine by using the only one available, but once you add another it won't know which to use and it will error.
in the query (SQL) you should add DISTINCT clause at the beginning, that way, you will get only one record per value. Check out http://www.w3schools.com/sql/sql_distinct.asp
Double click the Dataset which contains that field.
Go to fields on the left and delete that field.
Add new field by clicking Add -> Query Field.
Just type in the name of the new field under field name and field source.
It happens when you have added a field by selecting "Calculated Field" instead of "Query Field" from Dataset Fields list tab.

struts2 select tag, second select based on value of first select

I have 2 select, I want the second select list loads based on selected value of first select. In another word first select is a list of objects, those objects each has a list of another objects. so I want load second list based on selected object of first select. I know that can be done using JQuery, but can I do this without JavaScript/JQuery?
Thanks in advance.
There is a tag that does this for you http://struts.apache.org/2.x/docs/doubleselect.html
Out of the box it probably uses Dojo API or uses a server side request to generate the second list. I have not used any of the JQuery UI in Struts.
No, you can't do this without Javascript. With static HTML you can't achieve this effect; drop-down fields on HTML forms come pre-loaded with their options, and are independent of other fields on the form.

Have a jcombobox filter a jtable

following this tutorial http://www.netbeans.org/kb/docs/java/gui-db-custom.html#enhancements
it shows how to use a textbox to filter out the master table. Could anyone instruct me on how to do a similiar thing but use a dropdown to test against a specific column?
(ie a dropdown of countries, to filter by the country column?
thanks
depending on what the source is for the dropdown.
i assume the dropdown isn't used as part of the Jtable itself, but merely shows a list of unique data coming from one column of data?
in that case, you could get the Jtable's datamodel, and then walk through all the cells in the particular column, putting them in a hashmap with the string as the key. that way you have a list of (unfiltered) unique strings to use as the datamodel for the dropdownbox.
You could attach a model listener to the talbedatamodel to know when your list has to be updated as well.
