I have a store, based on opencart, and to this day I have two types of payments configured, one is paypal express checkout and the other is paypal website payments pro, for both options I needed to enter info like api password, username and signature, info that is the same for both cases - and double checked - when someone buy something and pay with paypal express checkout it works wonderfully, but when they try to use paypal website payments pro it says that there's a configuration merchant error. Checked and double checked, nothing, re-create the credentials again, nothing, I don't know what else to do I was wondering if someone around had the same error and if there's a solution for this?
Thanks a lot!
Arturo
Invalid Merchant Configuration means that DoDirectPayment is not enabled on your PayPal account, which means you don't have Payments Pro active.
It could also mean that Pro was approved, but you never agreed to the $30/mo payment. That agreement would show up in your overview when you login to your PayPal account.
Another possibility is that you've been approved for "PayPal Payments Pro 2.0" which uses the PayFlow API instead of the DoDirectPayment API. In that case, DDP would not be enabled on your account and would result in the error you're getting.
Have you been paying the $30/mo to PayPal for Pro?

I integrated Paypal into my mobile APP and I use the REST API Calls. If I pay the ordeers using paypal account, It works succesfully, but if I use Direct Credit Card Payment (when the user doesn't have the paypal account), Paypal System return an error:
"The merchant does not accept payments of this type"
I don't found in my Paypal Dashboard where this payment type could be enabled.
Could you please help me?
Thanks

Following are checklist you should verify, probably following is the basic reasons for an error.
1: Be sure the merchant account has Pro permissions. Also, be sure the
app has gone through the developer-approval process.
2: Also, be sure the app has been approved. The app has basic
permissions until you submit it for approval.
3: You may have a Business account but to accept credit card payments
in the live environment your account must be approved for Paypal.
4: You should contact PayPal Developer Support. File a ticket at
PayPal merchant technical Support. Click on the Contact Technical
Support link to file a ticket.
5: You can call to PayPal Customer Care, They will verify your name,
DOB, Verification Code (Code will be shown in your PayPal Dashboard in
Customer support page) etc, they will fix your issue in a minute or
they will help you to fix your issue.
As per my experience to solve this issue I had to subscribe to the Website Payments Pro Hosted Solution.
There is no setup fee but there is a monthly fee and a transaction fee.

I am integrating the Paypal payment gateway using a Paypal sandbox account (in India).
Everything is working fine: the URL is building properly and redirecting to the Paypal sandbox account and it's login successfully. However, after login it gives me the following error when I am trying to pay:
This recipient does not accept payments denominated in INR. Please contact the seller and ask him to update his Payment Receiving Preferences to accept this currency.
If I pay in USD currency, it gives me this error:
I've suffered from the same problem at same time as yours; it's my personal thinking that it might happened due to some economic changes in India. If you are making project for Indian public, then my advice is to go for some other payment integration options like Instamojo, Razorpay. They are doing far better than paypal.
I've an application in which customer can pay with PayPal payments pro and PayPal standard depending upon their choice. I've created a PayPal sandbox account with country namely Russia. But when i do payment using above method its giving me merchant currency not supported in PayPal pro API. It works fine in PayPal standard but then i'm unable to capture the payment. Its giving me an error "You do not have permissions to make this API call". But if i change currency to US dollar then everything works fine.
PayPal Payments Pro is only available in the US, UK, and Canada. You could use Express Checkout, though, and that should work for you just fine.
I am trying to make recurring payment work with PAYPAL ADVANCED
My script works in case of SALE transactions but there are issues when i try to create recurring profile.

I searched for documentation on recurring payment with paypal advanced but every where i found details about payflow pro. With no information about recurring payment with paypal advanced its not easy to make things work.
Any idea about what is wrong with my post data?.
I posted my query on paypal.com/mts a week back but have no reply.
NOTE: I have subscribed to paypal advanced and paypal recurring payment.
With paypal advanced the transactions are completed on the client website itself and user is never taken to paypal site. Yes it uses iframe for the purpose.
It works for SALE type transaction but not in case of recurring payment.
Payments Pro and Advanced don't support the Recurring Payment API calls. You would be using the Recurring Billing API calls through Payflow. The new Advanced and Pro accounts use Payflow Pro or Link.
Are you setting a billing type in the Secure Token call?
What is the ticket number you submitted? I'd to look up the account to see if the account is setup to use Recurring Billing and was created correctly.
Also, Advanced accounts shouldn't be using the Recurring Billing API calls. It is possible to create Recurring Billing profiles with an Advanced account but they have to be done through the PayPal Manager site.
I have read through the forums on here and see that the 'DPRP is disabled' message is due to not paying the additional fee for recurring payments.
I did not set the account up so Im not sure exactly what was paid for, I do know that we are using website payments pro.
My confusion comes from the top of the page where is says Recurring Payments are live, is this separate from the direct payment recurring? Does this mean that the account does have dprp or is this displaying live just a generic thing that all accounts have?
We currently do take recurring payments from a hosted paypal page so im wondering whether that is why it is set to live?
We plan to have our own page to take payments rather than a hosted page so any advice would be great.
Thanks in advance

The error of you don not have DPRP enabled, is just that. It means that you do not have recurring payments enabled on the account. You may just have DP (Direct Payments) enabled on your account and not DPRP (Direct Payment Recurring Payments), meaning you would only be able to process single payment transactions not recurring payments. If you can provide the email adddress to test account I can take a look at it and see what you have enabled on it and can enable it if its not enabled.
