sitecore map a template page to a content page - content-management-system

I am new to Sitecore and trying to create a new page on an existing website. I have made a copy of an already existing template page and renamed it in a new folder, I then have created a new content page in the content folder. What I need to do now is link/map these two pages together.
I am sure it's simple but I can't find any info on how to complete this, any help would be much great.

First, you should have created your new page from your new template, but for now, you can change the page template by:
Select your page in the content tree
Go to the tab Configure
Go to the chunk template
Click to change

If you are not able to find out the change template as mentioned above, try the below steps:
1. Right-click on the particular content page.
2. Then click on **Insert**.
3. then click on **Insert from template**.
From here, you can choose which template you want the page to point to.
Hope this helps.

In VSTS Wiki - Create A New Page with a Link - Like OneNote

In OneNote, I can create a new page and automatically link it with [[ ]] syntax. Is there an equivalent in VSTS-Wiki?
OneNote Example
[[I want a new page that is linked]] - when I enter ]']', OneNote creates a new page and links it. It's an automation process: create a new page and link it.
No, it is not supported in VSTS WiKi. You can link a page, but it can’t create a new page if it isn’t existing, it will go to the page with Create Page button, you need to click the Create Page button to create corresponding page.
Format:
[text](pagename)

TYPO3 CMS Page Tree Copying Isn't Working

I'm trying to copy a working TYPO3 page tree from one location to other. I can copy.. But while pasting only the first page is getting loaded, that is the root page.
I've increased the level of page copy settings in 'User Settings' Tab of the user. But still not working!! If anybody do have a clue.. Please share.

TYPO3: How do I restore deleted Pages?

I am new to TYPO3 and have a big problem. I deleted the page with the id 1 (startpage, I know its stupid) and now I woudl like to know if it is possible to restore the page somehow.
Install extension Recycler, it ships with TYPO3 by default. You can then restore pages and content you deleted using the backend UI it has.
https://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/extensions/recycler/Introduction/Index.html
You can use the recycler that is found under the web module and click on a page in the page tree at a higher level than the deleted page. You can also set the depth to infinitive if not certain where the page used to be in the page tree. Then put a tick beside the page you want to restore and click undelete. Note that PID is 'Parent ID' (not Page ID), and UID is the ID of the deleted page.If you click on the little + you will get additional information, e.g. the original path to the deleted page. If part of the path is highlighted in red, then that indicates another deleted branch or page. Remember to leave the Recycler module with 'Depth' NOT set to 'Infinite' (leave it at 'This page' or '1-4 levels') otherwise the recycler will hang if you use it on a larger part of your page t ree. Hope this will help you.

How to create a new psml page?

I've encountered a .psml page in a portlet app and I don't know how it was created. There exists no physical file for the .psml page. In jetspeed is it possible to create a page via portlet UI, if so how is this achieved ?
Yes you can create a page in JetSpeed through the UI. To do this
Log in using your administrator account.
Click 'edit' (the little pencil icon that shows on each page)
You will see the Page, Folder and Layout configuration on that page.
My understanding is that .psml files are supposed to live inside the pages folder in your Jetspeed home.
Interestingly though, you say your .psml page is inside your app. I am not sure why this would be. If this is the case, perhaps the page was put there by accident?

How to hide "User Information" options from "My Account" in Liferay 6.1?

I am trying to hide some options in "User Information" from My Account by using hook. I just want to hide it using CSS (style="display:none"). User Information is present in the right side of My Account Page.
I want to know, in which page I should make changes? While creating hook which page I should select for hiding those links like "Organizations, Sites, etc." Please help...
You have to choose the tab you want by writing them in the portal-ext.properties as follow :
#
# Input a list of sections that will be included as part of the user form
# when updating a user in the My Account portlet.
users.form.my.account.main=details,password,organizations,sites,user-groups,roles,personal-site,categorization
users.form.my.account.identification=addresses,phone-numbers,additional-email-addresses,websites,instant-messenger,social-network,sms,open-id
users.form.my.account.miscellaneous=announcements,display-settings,comments,custom-fields
Each field will be linked to its jsp. For exemple, "details" will display details.jsp.
Since your problem is finding the jsp file, you should do these :
download the Liferay source, and add the portal-trunk as a Liferay Project in Eclipse
Navigate through the portal to your desired file (manage my account), and get the url from your browser
Search for the "struts_action" attribute in the usl. For this case, it's "/my_sites/view"
This is very helpful as the first parameter indicates the portlet that controls the jsp page.
The second parameter usually is the jsp you are searching for
Find that file in the portal trunk and search for the html component you want to edit. it might be in the page itself, or it could be on an included one, or a sibling one (provided as a tab)
For your case, it's "/portal-trunk/portal-web/docroot/html/portlet/users_admin/edit_user.jsp"
It is not possible to remove those options using CSS. We can do the following simple java code for removing those tabs... The page which we need to edit is "/portal-trunk/portal-web/docroot/html/portlet/users_admin/edit_user.jsp".
List<String> identificationList = new ArrayList<String>();
for(String identificationItem : identificationSections){
identificationList.add(identificationItem);
System.out.println(identificationItem);
}
identificationList.remove("websites");
identificationList.remove("instant-messenger");
identificationList.remove("social-network");
identificationList.remove("sms");
identificationList.remove("open-id");
identificationSections = new String[identificationList.size()];
for(int i = 0; i < identificationList.size(); i++){
identificationSections[i] =identificationList.get(i);
}
Its easy to hide those links by using the simple java code written above.
