I would like to update the netbootmachinefilepath attribute after clearing it.
Because this attribute can be either non blank or deleted, I need to create it again after the value has been "cleared" because "clearing" it actually deletes it.
How can I recreate this attribute using Powershell?
I was hoping there would be something like
$directoryEntry.Properties.Create("netbootmachinefilepath")
$directoryEntry.CommitChanges()
EDIT Due to software issues on our servers I'm not able to use the ActiveDirectory module.
This should work no matter the attribute has or does not have a value before.
$directoryEntry.Properties["netbootmachinefilepath"].Value = "yourvalue"
$directoryEntry.CommitChanges()
Even $directoryEntry.Properties.Contains("netbootmachinefilepath") is false
$directoryEntry.Properties["netbootmachinefilepath"] will never return null. It return an empty PropertyValueCollection.
Tested the code above and it successfully set the value, even it has no value before.

How can I solve this?
This is the first time I encounter this error. Normally, this is a daily routine for our job. The parameter is successfully added to the mapping and all the other things seem okay. I’d appreciate your help.
I tried to start the workflow and got this error.
You need to define a $$RUN_DATE in mapping. Currently its not defined in mapping or its null in parameter file.
You need to set a default value in mapping like 20221221 for today.
Or else you can set it up in a parameter file like this
[folder.workflow_name]
[folder.session_name]
$$RUN_DATE=20221221
Considering this is your daily routine and up till now it has been working fine, I assume this is not a new development and no recent changes have been made. Apparantly PowerCenter got an invalid value for the parameter.
Check you parameter file and how it gets generated.
Was the process of generating paramfile executed without issues?
Was there enough storage space?
Can you verify the paramfile contents?
Can you regenerate it?
Can you modify it and provide some value manually?
Feel free to get back with some updates for more help if your problem won't get resolved by checking the items on the list above.
So I am using discord.js or Visual studio code or whatever. and I've made a random hug command. And I would like to be able to have it so that the one that gets hugged doesn't get # and it's just their name. I've successfully made a command similar to it, but i don't want to have to keep adding in names manually and theres no promise that the member won't change their name so it's not very reliable.
So I guess what's in my mind is having a file that automatically updates with users leaving or joining or changing their names and then to be able to call on them randomly without #ing them.
So does anybody know how to do this and how i can call on them?
I've done it with the #, and now im at where I manually write in every member's name but I know that is going to end up tedious and their name might change and I don't want to have to worry about them changing their name.
case 'randhug':
var user = message.guild.members.random();
let dismember = ["Klemon", "Second sofira", "CloudBot"]
let disresults = Math.floor((Math.random() * dismember.length));
message.channel.send(`${message.author} SURPRISE huggies you, ${dismember[disresults]}!!!!!`);
if (message.author.bot) return;
break;
The code I have now works, but isn't reliable in the sense that things change.
It sounds like you might find the tag or username properties of a User very valuable in this situation.
User.tag would return Username#1234.
User.username would return Username.
const member = message.guild.members.random();
message.channel.send(`${message.author} surprise huggies you, **${member.user.username}**!`)
.catch(console.error);
This is the first time I'm encountering GetLayoutObjectAttribute and I am having serious issues with it. My variable $web won't set. I think it's because PD_WebV isn't the right object name to refer to, but I don't know how to find the right object name. I can't find the objects name when I hit Edit Layout, so does anyone know how to find an layout objects name?
Loop
Pause/Resume Script [Duration (seconds): 1]
Set Variable[$Web; Value: GetLayoutObjectAttribute("PD_WebV";"content")]
If[$Web="done"]
#execute if statements
After Edit:
After some troubleshooting, I found out that PD_WebV is the right object name to refer and it's refered to correctly, so my new question is why doesn't the script go to the line If[$Web="done"] and how could I fix it? Ss my If statement not evaluating something it should be? Is my $web variable never set to done or is the issue something completely different? Would the problem possibly have to do with my WebDirect sharing settings? Any guidance would help. Thanks.
After, After Edit:
So now that my application is getting past Set Variable[$Web; Value: GetLayoutObjectAttribute("PD_WebV";"content")], the variable $web only equals <HTML></HTML>. Does anyone know a way, without using javascript, to test the inside of the html tags?
Also, I printed the bounds of the webViewer PD_WebV that I can't locate on the layout but am referring to in the script. The bounds that are printed are different each time I run the script. Is the usual or unusual? My source is also about:blank so it doesn't look like I'm sourcing from a URL
Is my $web variable never set to done or is the issue something
completely different?
If you're doing:
Set Variable[$Web; Value: GetLayoutObjectAttribute("PD_WebV";"content")]
then the only time
$Web="done"
will return true is when the web page loaded into your web viewer contains exactly the string "done" (in practical terms, that's never).
I have already suggested in a comment that you test for:
PatternCount ( $webpage ; "</html>" )
This is assuming you want the subsequent steps to execute only after the page has finished loading. The entire script would look something like this:
Loop
Pause/Resume Script [Duration (seconds): 1]
Set Variable[$Web; Value: GetLayoutObjectAttribute("PD_WebV";"content")]
Exit Loop If [ PatternCount ( $webpage ; "</html>" ) ]
End Loop
# execute statements
You might also want to add a counter to the loop and exit the script after n trials.
Ah, I reread your question.
To set the object name for your webviewer so that the GetLayoutObjectAttribute function works you need to set it in the Name field in the inspector when you have the webviewer selected.
e.g.:
After that your variable should populate.
Be aware
What it will populate with will be all of the html from the browser, i.e. not a boolean true/false liek your conditional suggests.
I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to accomplish, but to be able to determine a result from your web viewer you'll need to either parse the HTML to see if it's content contains what you're looking for or within the code you're setting the webviewer with, fire a javascript function that calls back to the FileMaker file using a FileMaker url.
I'm seeing some very strange behavior with FileMaker 14. I'm using LayoutObjectNames for some required functionality. On the development system it's working fine. It returns the list of named objects on the layout.
I close the file, zip it up and send it to the client, and that required functionality isn't working. He sends the file back and I open it and get a data viewer up. The function returns nothing. I go into layout mode and confirm that there are named objects on the layout.
The first time this happened and I tried recovering the file. In the recovered file it worked, so I assumed some corruption had happened on his end. I told him to trash the file I had given him and work with a new version I supplied. The problem came up again.
This morning he sent me the oldest version that the problem manifested in. I confirmed the problem, tried recovering it again, but this time it didn't fix the problem.
I'm at a loss. It works in the version I send him, doesn't on his system. We're both using FileMaker 14, although I'm using Advanced. My next step will be to work from a served file instead of a local one, but I have never seen this type of behavior in FileMaker. Has anyone seen anything similar? Any ideas on a fix? I'm almost ready to just scrap the file and build it again from scratch since we're not too far into the project.
Thanks, Chuck
There is a known issue with the Get (FileName) function when the file name contains dots (other that the one before the extension). I will amend my answer later with more details and a possible solution (I have to look it up).
Here's a quote from 2008:
This is a known issue. It affects not only the ValueListItems()
function, but any function that requires the file name. The solution
is to include the file extension explicitly in the file name. This
works even if you use Get (FileName) to return the file name
dynamically:
ValueListItems ( Get ( FileName ) & ".fp7" ; "MyValueList" )
Of course, this is not required if you take care not to use period
when naming your files.

Apparently the issue is still with us - I wonder if the solution is still the same (I cannot test this at the moment).
I have a problem with some old apps and I need to set an environment variable from AD (hurray)
I'm quite new to PS scripting, so I can use some help.
In my AD I have filled the attribute departmentNumber with information, that part works fine.
Now I need to create a logon script which reads this field from the current user (attribute: departmentNumber, derived from: inetOrgPersonUser) and set this as an environment variable called AFDELING.
I know this can be done using a VB script, but I prefer PS. Can anyone help me with this one?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Peter
Working with environment variables in PowerShell involves the special variable $Env and unfortunately you need to use a .NET method to set environment variables as no cmdlet exists (at least as of v2):
[Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable("AFDELING", "DeptNo", "User")
The first string parameter is the variable name, the second is the value and the third is basically the persistance level requested for the variable: Machine, User or Process - both machine and user will survive a reboot and future applications will have access to them, though you will need to be running PowerShell with an administrative account to modify the machine-level variables.
Getting the user info should be equally easy. There are a variety of ways that you can access Active Directory, though one of the simplest in your case would be to use the System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry class:
$de = New-Object System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry
$DeptNo = $de.Properties["departmentNumber"]
That should query the current user record from a domain controller, and assign the value from the departmentNumber attribute to the $DeptNo variable. You can then just pop that variable into the second parameter from the first example.
