The findAll() finds nothing in my repository in a Method in my FE but it works in my BE.
public function showAction() {
$p = $this->modulRepository->findAll();
$this->view->assign('pruefling',$p);
}
I tried to add
plugin.tx_rere.persistence.storagePid = 4
to my TypoScript Setup -> extbase repository findAll() returns result null.
The table is not empty.
But it still does not work.
It happens because of not giving the exact storage pid:
plugin.tx_urpluggin.persistence.storagePid = 4
To know whether you give the correct storage pid:
Go to Templatemodule
Select root template
Select typoscript object browser from top dropdown
Check the configurations in your plugin
If the storage pid is empty then click on that you will get a typoscript. Paste this into your main template.

I am currently trying to get a extension working in Typo3 v10, which enables the user to show, edit, update, disable and enable other user accounts.
Unfortunately, I am running into the issue that I cannot use disabled users as arguments for the actions:
/**
* Save user changes
*
* #param \Company\MyExtension\Domain\FeUser $feuser
* #return void
*/
public function updateAction(\Company\MyExtension\Domain\FeUser $feuser): void {}
It would resulting in the error following error:
Object of type \Company\MyExtension\Domain\FeUser with identity "3" not found.
From what I have gathered, extbase does not rely on the repository's default query settings to create the objects but instead uses PersistenceManager::createQueryForType to get the query settings via QueryFactory::create. This is an issue also listed in a few bug reports.
There's a suggestions as to how to use a custom QueryFactory to set different default QuerySettings for my extension, however this does not seem to work in Typo3 v10 anymore, at least my custom QueryFactory isn't being used after registering it... Also, if this were to work, wouldn't it use the new QueryFactory for all objects instantiated through a controller action and not just this extension?
How can I properly handle hidden users my extension with Typo3 v10.4?
P.S. Another suggestion was to fetch object early through initializeAction, but this only works well if it is about the unmodified model and not when setting new values for the object, as it would just load the database values in the end...
Checkout the extension "news" how it is handled here:
if ($news === null || $this->settings['isShortcut']) {
$previewNewsId = ((int)$this->settings['singleNews'] > 0) ? $this->settings['singleNews'] : 0;
if ($this->request->hasArgument('news_preview')) {
$previewNewsId = (int)$this->request->getArgument('news_preview');
}
if ($previewNewsId > 0) {
if ($this->isPreviewOfHiddenRecordsEnabled()) {
$news = $this->newsRepository->findByUid($previewNewsId, false);
} else {
$news = $this->newsRepository->findByUid($previewNewsId);
}
}
}

I am assuming you need the URL as well. I gave an answer here if you wanna take a look.
Show, edit and update hidden records in FrontEnd (TYPO3)
You can adjust it to your own needs as well.
Best regards
I would like to import different data using a CommandController (scheduler).
I allready figured out that it is possible to set a global storagePid like:
module.tx_myextension.persistence.storagePid = 123
source: https://worksonmymachine.org/blog/commandcontroller-and-storagepid
That works fine, but my extension contains multiple models which should be saved on different Pid's
I also found an old post where someone said it is possible to define a pid for each model which would be exactly what I need:
module.tx_myextension.persistence.classes.tx_myextension_domain_model_player.storagePid = 124
module.tx_myextension.persistence.classes.tx_myextension_domain_model_customer.storagePid = 125
source: https://typo3-german.typo3.narkive.com/WxjjtxXa/scheduler-storage-pid
But it seems like this lines get ignored. Is this the correct way or do I do something wrong?
I am on TYPO3 6.2.44
I suggest to create params for the controller action. For each model a storage pid.
so you have myCommand($domain1Pid, $domain2Pid,$domain3Pid, ...)
Now as first call in your function you get the querySettings for the repositories and apply the storage pids:
$querySettings = $this->domain1Repository->createQuery()->getQuerySettings();
$querySettings->setStoragePageIds([$domain1Pid]);
$this->domain1Repository->setDefaultQuerySettings($querySettings);
repeat this for each repository. In the scheduler job settings or cli you can now define the pids for each storage.
btw: you can also use $domain->setPid(123) to set the pid of each model where to save.
Given you are in a BE or CLI context (e.g. sending emails via extbase command controller task), the following worked up to 7 LTS for rendering a fluid standalone view:
$view = $this->objectManager->get(StandaloneView::class);
$view->setTemplatePathAndFilename('/Absolute/Path/To/Template.html');
$view->setFormat('html');
$view->getRequest()->setControllerExtensionName('Myextensionname');
return trim($view->render());
However, in 8 LTS, this throws the following exception:
Tried resolving a template file for controller action "Standard->index" in format ".html", but none of the paths contained the expected template fileā¦ No paths configured.
As suggested in the wiki page at https://wiki.typo3.org/How_to_use_the_Fluid_Standalone_view_to_render_template_based_emails#Usage_in_TYPO3_8.7, I tried setting layout and partial root paths for the view:
$view->setLayoutRootPaths(['EXT:Myextensionname/Resources/Private/Layouts/']);
$view->setPartialRootPaths(['EXT:Myextensionname/Resources/Private/Partials/']);
However, this won't do the trick.
Digging a bit deeper, I could imagine that one would have to set the controller and action name, e.g. by setting the controller context, but that does not seem to be a solid solution as multiple other class instances are tied to it.
What is the correct way to render fluid standalone views in 8 LTS?
Here an example from our current webproject where we want to show a simple note in backend context based on a FLUID HTML in TYPO3 8.7
protected function renderMarkup(): string
{
$standaloneView = GeneralUtility::makeInstance(StandaloneView::class);
$standaloneView->getRequest()->setControllerExtensionName('in2template');
$templatePathAndFile = 'EXT:in2template/Resources/Private/Templates/Tca/ToolbarNoteEmptyFields.html';
$standaloneView->setTemplatePathAndFilename(GeneralUtility::getFileAbsFileName($templatePathAndFile));
$standaloneView->assign('toolbar', 'toolbarstuff');
return $standaloneView->render();
}
StandaloneView likes to receive all template paths (partial, template and layout root paths) so if you don't already provide all of them, you should do so. The reason being that the naming "Standalone" refers to the view being tied neither to a specific MVC action nor a specific extension context.
That said, if you use 8.7.5 there's a chance you are hit by a regression that is going to be solved by https://review.typo3.org/#/c/53917/ so it might be worth checking that out before you do a major refactoring. Technically the StandaloneView can be operated like a TemplateView with extension context, it's just not officially supported behavior and TYPO3 may not consistently apply all of the context you expect.
In my 8.7 extension I use the following code to get the StandaloneView:
$extbaseFrameworkConfiguration = $this->configurationManager->getConfiguration(ConfigurationManagerInterface::CONFIGURATION_TYPE_FRAMEWORK);
/** #var StandaloneView $emailView */
$emailView = $this->objectManager->get(StandaloneView::class);
$emailView->getRequest()->setControllerExtensionName($controllerExtensionName);
$emailView->getRequest()->setPluginName($pluginName);
$emailView->getRequest()->setControllerName($controllerName);
$emailView->setTemplateRootPaths($extbaseFrameworkConfiguration['view']['templateRootPaths']);
$emailView->setLayoutRootPaths($extbaseFrameworkConfiguration['view']['layoutRootPaths']);
$emailView->setPartialRootPaths($extbaseFrameworkConfiguration['view']['partialRootPaths']);
$emailView->setTemplate('Email/' . ucfirst($templateName));
$emailView->assignMultiple($variables);
$emailBody = $emailView->render();
In my function I gave the $controllerExtensionName, $pluginName and $controllerName as parameter with default values, so that other controllers/plugins can use this function, too.
I am building an extension with a backend module. When I call the findAll() method it returns a "QueryResult" object.
I tried to retrieve objects with findByUid() and it does work.
I set the storage pid in the typoscript:
plugin.tx_hwforms.persistence.storagePid = 112
I can also see it in the typoscript object browser.
I also added this to my repository class:
public function initializeObject()
{
$defaultQuerySettings = $this->objectManager->get(\TYPO3\CMS\Extbase\Persistence\Generic\Typo3QuerySettings::class);
$defaultQuerySettings->setRespectStoragePage(false);
$this->setDefaultQuerySettings($defaultQuerySettings);
}
so that the storage pid is ignored ...
It's still not working, findAll doesn't return an array of entites as it should
Repository must return a QueryResult from the findAll methods. Only methods which return a single object (findOneByXYZ) will return anything else.
All of the following operations will cause a QueryResult to load the actual results it contains. Until you perform one of these, no results are loaded and debugging the QueryResult will yield no information except for the original Query.
$queryResult->toArray();
$queryResult->offsetGet($offset); and $queryResult[$offset];
$queryResult->offsetExists($offset);
$queryResult->offsetSet($offset, $value); and $queryResult[$offset] = $value; (but be aware that doing this yourself with a QueryResult is illogical).
$queryResult->offsetUnset($offset); and unset($queryResult[$offset]); (again, illogical to use this yourself)
$queryResult->current(), ->key(), ->next(), ->prev(), ->rewind() and ->valid() which can all be called directly or will be called if you begin iterating the QueryResult.
Note that ->getFirst() and ->count() do not cause the original query to fire and will not fill results if they are not already filled. Instead, they will perform an optimised query.
Summa summarum: when you get a QueryResult you must trigger it somehow, which normally happens when you begin to render the result set. It is not a prefilled array; it is a dynamically filled Iterator.
This should work.there must be issue with your storage page in FindAll() extbase check for storage but in findByXXX() it ignore storage.
$objectManager = \TYPO3\CMS\Core\Utility\GeneralUtility::makeInstance('TYPO3\\CMS\Extbase\\Object\\ObjectManager');
$querySettings = $objectManager->get('TYPO3\\CMS\\Extbase\\Persistence\\Generic\\Typo3QuerySettings');
$querySettings->setRespectStoragePage(FALSE);
$this->cityRepository->setDefaultQuerySettings($querySettings);
$cities = $this->cityRepository->findAll();
Use additionally typoscript module configuration, like
module.tx_hwforms.persistence.storagePid = 112
Ensure your Typoscript is loaded in root. For BE modules I prefere to use
EXT:hwforms/ext_typoscript_setup.txt
where you write your module and extbase configuration.
Try to debbug like below and check findAll() method present for this repositry. I think this is useful for you click here
\TYPO3\CMS\Extbase\Utility\DebuggerUtility::var_dump(get_class_methods($this->yourRepositryName)); exit();
Afetr added all your changes once you need to uninsatll/install extension.
I would inspect the generated query itself. Configure the following option in the install tool:
$GLOBALS["TYPO3_CONF_VARS"]["sqlDebug"]
Note: dont do this in production environemnt!!
Explanation for sqlDebug:
Setting it to "0" will avoid any information being print on screen.
Setting it to "1" will show errors only.
Setting it to "2" will print all queries on screen.
So in Production you want to keep it at "0", in development environments you should set it to "1", if you want to know why some result is empty, configure it to "2".
I would guess that some enablefield configuration causes your problem.
If you retrieve an object by findByUid you will have the return because enablefields are ignored. In every other case enablefields are applied and that may cause your empty result.
In an extbase extension built with extension builder on TYPO3 6.1.7, I haven't set any storagePid via Typoscript.
But I have set the "Record Storage Page" in the plugin:
I would expect that it would now only fetch records from this page.
But it doesn't, it just returns all items from that table.
How do I make the extension recognize the setting from the plugin?
Or (if it's supposed to do that out of the box) how do I find out why it doesn't?
I did a lot of research when my extension's frontend plugin (TYPO3 7.6.4) refused to use the 'pages' field of the plugin ("Record Storage Page"), so I would like to share my findings:
My extension's name is 'tx_dhsnews', my plugin's name is 'infobox'
setRespectStoragePage must be set to true (default): $query->setRespectStoragePage(TRUE)
In the typoscript-setup, the plugin-specific storagePid plugin.tx_dhsnews_infobox.persistence.storagePid MUST NOT be present at all! Not even with an empty value! Else the 'pages'-field will not be respected!
That's all. The Extensions Builder just created a typoscript-setup with the storagePid for the specific plugin 'infobox' set to nothing. That resulted in the plugin not respecting the 'pages' - field.
It's no problem to set the storagePid on extension-level (e.g. 'tx_dhsnews..persistence.storagePid'), the value will be merged with the value(s) given in 'pages' ("Record Storage Page"), but as soon the plugin-specific tx_[extension]_[plugin].persistence.storagePid exists in the typoscript, it will overrule everything else!
Hope this will help somebody to save some time + nerves
Add the following code to your repository
namespace <Vendor>\<Extkey>\Domain\Repository;
class ExampleRepository extends \TYPO3\CMS\Extbase\Persistence\Repository {
// Example for repository wide settings
public function initializeObject() {
/** #var $defaultQuerySettings \TYPO3\CMS\Extbase\Persistence\Generic\Typo3QuerySettings */
$defaultQuerySettings = $this->objectManager->get('TYPO3\\CMS\\Extbase\\Persistence\\Generic\\Typo3QuerySettings');
// add the pid constraint
$defaultQuerySettings->setRespectStoragePage(TRUE);
}
// Example for a function setup changing query settings
public function findSomething() {
$query = $this->createQuery();
// add the pid constraint
$query->getQuerySettings()->setRespectStoragePage(TRUE);
// the same functions as shown in initializeObject can be applied.
return $query->execute();
}
}

I actually modified my MVC controller to achieve a record filtering depending on the actual page(storagePid==page.id).. looked like this:
use TYPO3\CMS\Extbase\Mvc\Controller\ActionController;
class MyMVCController extends ActionController {
protected function initializeAction() {
parent::initializeAction();
//fallback to current pid if no storagePid is defined
$configuration = $this->configurationManager->getConfiguration(\TYPO3\CMS\Extbase\Configuration\ConfigurationManagerInterface::CONFIGURATION_TYPE_FRAMEWORK);
if (empty($configuration['persistence']['storagePid'])) {
$currentPid['persistence']['storagePid'] = GeneralUtility::_GP('id');
$this->configurationManager->setConfiguration(array_merge($configuration, $currentPid));
}
[..]
I used the solution by http://wiki.t3easy.de/ and modified the value of the storagePid cause i developed a backend module.
His tscript example didnt worked for me..
Also an article by Thomas Deuling was interesting for the topic..
but i still dont get the whole connection into my mind.. wanna go back to symfony xD
edit: for the modification of the repo queries also this article looked interesting:
