subclipse- Unable to load default SVN Client while adding repository - eclipse

I am using eclipse kepler, I am trying to install subclipse. I have installed subclipse using "install new software" option specifying the ": http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.10.x" as the url.
Installation went smooth, however, when I try to add new repository I am getting error "Unable to load default SVN Client". Can you please tell me what I am missing here?. I am using ubuntu 14.04

You have to download the SVNKit:
Make sure that SVNKit is the selected SVN interface:

Can not share new project with Subversive SVN in Eclipse Neon

I just downloaded a fresh Eclipse JEE Neon.1a Release (4.6.1) on my Windows 10 machine.
I went to the marketplace to get the latest Subversive SVN Team Provider 4.0.2.
Trying to install results in the Message: The following solutions are not available: SVN Team Provider 4.0.2.
I chose to continue anyways, and it seemed to work.
After the restart, i chose the SVNKit 1.8.14 Subversive SVN Connector and installed without any issues.
Now I was able to do basic SVN operations, all seemed fine.
Except to share a new project. I created a new Project called "test" and tried to share as a new project.
That results in the Message:
Share project was failed.
Can't overwrite cause with org.tmatesoft.svn.core.SVNException: svn: E160013: URL 'http://sol:3380/svn/repo/test' non-existent in that revision.
I tried to share a new project to another SVN Server, same error message.
I repeated the whole process on different machines, same message.
I Installed SVN Team Provider directly from the Update Site instead of the Marketplace. Same Issue.
I went to the SVNKit website to try older Versions of SVNKit and installed via the archived Update Sites, but they wont even show up in the SVN Connector Chooser in Eclipse.
I really dont know what to do anymore, can anyone help me to get it work?
I hope this solution will help you as it helped me. I think your problem is related to an unmatched client/server version. Neon subversive version is 4 and related svn connector is 1.8. But you probably need an svn connector 1.7 as it was in my case. Try the next steps and let me know if it works. Otherwise let me know the point in which you get in trouble.
go to help > installation details > filter by "svn" > uninstall everything related to subversive, subclipse and svn connectors
restart eclipse
to to help > install new software > work with > use the previous major subversive version from this URL: http://download.eclipse.org/technology/subversive/3.0/update-site/
install at least the plug-in and the integrations
restart eclipse
it will probably not ask you for a connector to be installed because you have already installed one previously, so go to window > preferences > team > svn > svn connector tab > get connectors > 1.7! (you can install all of them, the important thing is the one you choose in the combo box, it must be 1.7)
try the svn check-out process again
bye!
Bug was fixed yesterday. So just update.
I uninstalled the SVNKit 1.8.14, and it worked for me.

Subversive plugin does not show up in eclipse

I'm using eclipse Mars 2 and installed the SVN Team Provider plugin from the Luna repository cause mars's repository ended up giving me an error that it couldn't install. Now i face the problem of being unable to install a SVN Connector cause eclipse doesn't give me the ability to create a new SVN project or repository. Actually the whole IDE does not show any sign of SVN being installed except for the installed software window.
Try installing Subversive through the Eclipse Marketplace. When I did that I was given a option to install the Connector. If that doesn't work you can try the software site by going to
Help >> Install New Software >> Add...
Give it a name and paste this site to install svn.
http://download.eclipse.org/technology/subversive/3.0/update-site/
Once it is installed you can go to
Window >> Show view >> other...
In the search box type SVN and you should have some options.

Error "Failed to load java HL library" on importing svn project in Eclipse

When I try to checkout my project in Eclipse in doesn't work. What can I do about it? It just waits and nothing happens.
So I wasted my time completely and instead I can install the subclipse plugin, and right away nothing is possible again:
Can you receive your svn repository via svn on the commandline? You should try to get it there and then import it to eclipse via File->Import.... That also adds the usual SVN capabilities to the eclipse project if the svn plugin is installed correctly.
What svn plugin are you using? There are subversive and subclipse, and I had different experiences using either of them.
Could you fetch any other svn repository via the dialog? Just get one on github(click Subversion right there where you get the git url) and try to get it.

Eclipse - Cannot install subclipse / subversive

I am unable to install new plugins to eclipse (tried subclipse and subversive). Installing fails around 47/48 %. This happens with both Helios and Indigo. I tried installing via Help>Install New Software and Help>Eclipse Marketplace.
Errors in both versions are about the same:
An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

I don't think it's my internet connection as I'm having no issues browsing the web and multiple tracert tests work fine. I have tried removing the sites from available software sites and tried setting Active Provider in network connects to both direct and native.
Please help. Thanks
I also faced the same issues and resolved with following steps:
Check all .jar files that are causing errors "Unable to read repository at..."and "Read timed out"
Manually download those .jar files
Manually put .jar to eclipse's "\plugins" folder
Again start installation
Won’t get error
You done.
These are the steps to follow while Enable SVN in Eclipse Version: 2018-12 (4.10.0):
Visit this link: http://subclipse.tigris.org/ to get the “Eclipse update site URL” for Subclipse plugin. As of now Feb 2019 its move to location - https://github.com/subclipse/subclipse/wiki
Here you can https://dl.bintray.com/subclipse/releases/subclipse/latest/
Basic Steps:
Help>Install New Software.
Click on Add - Give name: Subversive
https://dl.bintray.com/subclipse/releases/subclipse/latest/
Install all the components, and accept the license.
Restart the eclipse.
Thanks.
I had the same issue with Windows 7 / 64bit / Eclipse Java EE Juno SR1.
I got around the issue by installing Subversive via the Eclipse Marketplace rather than with "Install new Software" using the Eclipse Juno update site.
I had exactly the same problem with EGit and the above solved it as well.
It worked for me by downloading and installing subclipse locally, from here : http://subclipse.tigris.org/files/documents/906/49270/site-1.8.20.zip

subclipse: Unable to load default SVN Client

I am constantly getting this error when working with eclispe and the subclipse plugin:
Unable to load default SVN Client
I have already installed both the SVNKit and the JavaHL provider, but it can't be found in the preferences:
I am using eclipse for win64bit
I had this problem after installing the latest eclipse and installing subclipse from the marketplace. To resolve you can follow these steps:
Click Help >> Install New Software...
Set Work with: Subclipse 1.10.x Update Site - http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.10.x
Ensure Hide items that are already installed is checked.
Click Select All.
Click Next.
Complete the remainder of the installation as usual.
For ubuntu 12.04 amd64
sudo apt-get install libsvn-java
add this to eclipse.ini after -vmargs:
-vmargs
-Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni:/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/jni
...
What JavaHL provider have you installed? It sounds like you need 64 bit JavaHL support. Have you tried SlikSVN?
I solved this with easiest way:
sudo apt-get install libsvn-java
sudo cp /usr/lib/jni/* /usr/lib
Faced the same problem after installed subclipse 1.8 from eclipse marketplace and resolved thru following steps:
1. Install subversion client (required)
2. Install Subversion JavaHL Native Library Adapter (required)
And it works now.
P/S: Eclipse Indigo
I don't know about JavaHL but to make the SVNKit appear on the list of SVN interfaces, you need to install the "SVN Client Adapter" and the "SVNKit Adapter" as well.
You can find those on the update site of Subclipse (*http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.8.x*).
I have a similar problem with Subclipse 1.8. Due to licenses limitations, SVN client aren't bundled with SVN any more. So I find the message "Unable to load default SVN Client".
My solutions is to install SVN client. It can't be easier. Go to Eclispe Marketplace, type Subclipse and click to install Subclipse again, select all options. When restarting Eclipse, it will prompt us to install an SVN client, choose SVNKit or JavaHL (I choose JavaHL). After restarting one more time, it all works.
In fedora 16 on x64 i meet also, i solved by downloading subversion 1.7 from here and installing:
yum install subversion-javahl-1.7.1-1.fc16.x86_64.rpm subversion-libs-1.7.1-1.fc16.x86_64.rpm subversion-1.7.1-1.fc16.x86_64.rpm
Install SVN on Eclipse Juno using the update site at http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.8.x
Go to Help -> Install new software, then Add update site.
Zend Studio 9 if you upgrade/update to 9.0.3 you will get this error as well. You need to uninstall all subEclipse and JavaHL stuff then follow the install procedures again and restart Zend studio.
Build 20120625 in Zend Version 9.0.3
If you are using the Subversive plugin (which is newer than the Subclipse one, and the two are easily confused with one another), you might run into problems finding the library even after configuring the library path in eclipse.ini. To fix the entire problem, you might need to add this setting to the file as well:
-Dsubversion.native.library=C:/SlikSVN_JavaHL/libsvnjavahl-1.dll
Read http://www.eclipse.org/subversive/installation-instructions.php for more help, it's a good-quality explanation of everything.
I had same problem with Spring STS 3.5.1 and Sub eclipse version 1.6. Upgraded to version 1.10 of subeclipse and everything is working fine.
The above problem arises with custom eclipse installation and due to updated version of subclipse.
You have to install the older version of subclipse manually.
For this i have done as following:
Under Help menu click "Install New Software..."
Select "http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.6.x" from the drop down menu
If URL of any other advanced version of are available change it to look as above.
Check the options selected are sensible e.g. "Hide items that are already installed"
Click "Select All"
Click Next/Finish through to completion.
After finishing the installation, under windows menu go to preferences, click on Team and on SVN.
Now change the client from Java HL to SVN pure kit.
That's it.
This resolved problem for me
Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
Version: Oxygen.3a Release (4.7.3a)
Build id: 20180405-1200
I solved this problem as follows
1) Install Subversive - SVN Team Provider 4.0.5 from marketplace
2) Team -> SVN -> SVN Connectors and set SVNKit 1.8.14
3) Restart eclipse
All works well
