Trouble with Eclipse while opening rptdesign - eclipse

I'm having some problems when I'm trying to open a rptdesign. The name of the file doesn't load, it stays all blank and when I close the file the Eclipses throw a null pointer exception. I'm using eclipse.buildId=4.4.1 (Luna) and java.version=1.7.0_75. Anyone know how to solve it?

Try switch to a new workspace should help you. Eclipse has almost no settings that are stored outside your workspace.
if it does not work, I advise you to open your file with a text editor "notpad ++ for example" and see the version of birt used in the development (see tag), download and use it to open your file.

Eclipse BIRT: Debugger throws "Unhandled event loop exception"

I am trying to use Eclipse debugger to debug BIRT report but when I click Debug or run my report from debug perspective I get Unhandled event loop exception.
I get this error with the latest version of the designer, with the older version I am able to use the debugger. Below is the stack trace. Any pointer to troubleshoot this will be helpful.

Do you have your reports set up as an Eclipse-project, i.e. do you have a .project file? If so, try to comment/delete all <nature>-tags or lines from that file. Than restart BIRT and reopen the project.

Why do I get an "invalid values" error when I try to access the network settings on Eclipse Mars?

I tried to access the eclipse marketplace and it failed, so I went to check the networking settings and got this:
If I continue the Network Connections tab does not load at first but after clicking off it and on it I can get it to load but Active Provider is blank:
I've tried restarting Eclipse, I get the same error.
I went to the workspace\.metadata\ folder and opened up the .log file, where I found the following:

Does anyone know a way to either fix or just work around this problem? Whether it's a matter of hacking the Eclipse config files or something I don't mind - I just need to get Eclipse online again!
Following the advice here I ran my eclipse with eclipse -clean and the properties window opened fine and I could access the marketplace. I restarted eclipse and everything was still working so it seems to have solved the problem.

SWT: No more handles in Eclipse Luna win8.1

I have a HP PC with Windows 8.1, with 2 monitors and I use Eclipse Luna with SWT. I develop a tool that has a dialog with 3 composites (one with a table, one with buttons on it, and one with labels and a progress bar). I wrote it because I haven't had this problem until I changed the absolute layout with formLayouts. Now if I click to designer tab in Window Builder, I get the following popup:
(Details>> shows the exact same message)
When click to OK, it says: WindowBuilder was not able to show the GUI.
WindowBuilder encountered unexpected internal error.

The program is running correct, and I didn't noticed any problem with the GUI at runtime.
I looked for this problem, but all answers I found haven't worked for me (checked processes, drivers, other software etc.) Hope I didn't forget to wrote any related information.
For me it was fixed by turning off "nVidia Desktop Manager".
Other people fixed the problem by turning off other DeskTop manager apps like "DisplayFussion".

Refactor rename reverts changes when pressing enter

I am using shift+alt+r to rename a javascript variable.
"Enter new name, press enter to refactor" comes up in a tooltip.
When I press enter, the refactoring should occur, but instead the variable name is reverted to what it was before.
Why?
I got a question about what the error log shows.
Here it comes:

I think it's clear for you now, that the refactor has failed and because it's an NPE it's probably a bug in the JavaScript Development Tools.
I'd suggest opening a bug at https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?component=General&product=JSDT&resolution=--- in Product JSDT, Component General.
You'll need to provide a (preferably minimal) js file where this bug surfaces.
Meanwhile try downloading a newer Eclipse/JSDT (no need to upgrade, just create another Eclipse folder and try to refactor your code there) maybe it's already fixed you're just not using the latest version.
Also worth trying just a restart of Eclipse (close all open files prior to restart).
Note: I've moved to Sublime because the JS editor in Eclipse didn't give me proper support/was buggy.

RCP - eclipse4: how to reuse view from external plugin

I'm on Eclipse SDK 4.3, developing a product-based E4Application
I am developing two plugins: "Main" and "External"
Main is the plugin with the application.e4xmi and product definition, it depends on External
External has a view part defined in it and also declared in plugin.xml as extension.
<extension
point="org.eclipse.ui.views">
<view
class="my.company.package.FileSystemNavigatorViewPart"
id="my.company.package.FileSystemNavigatorViewPart"
name="FileSystem Navigator"
restorable="true">
</view>
The view part is of course developed according to the e4 model (i.e. it has annotations and does not extend viewPart).
My purpose would be to declare the usage of the view part in the Application.e4xmi. I have specified the class URI in the Application editor, expecting the view part to be reused out of the box.
However, doing so leads to a Dependency Injection error:
org.eclipse.e4.core.di.InjectionException: Unable to process "FileSystemNavigatorViewPart#createControls()": no actual value was found for the argument "Composite".

The exception is generated when the Composite object should be injected in the createControls method of the view.
I have been using DI for a while now without any error, so my overall setup is ok.
I assume there might be some trick for re-using views from external plugins.
Online searches did not provide much help, as many questions are oriented towards re-using eclipse standard features through compat layer.
Can anyone please assists?
Thanks in advance
