default maxsize for mongodb database - mongodb

Can anyone tell me what is the default mongodb database maxsize.
I have installed mongodb on my windows server, and created a document(db).
Document created and it is showing the size - 65,536KB. Is this max size that I
can write the data or can I extend it.

How to migrate a collection whose document size is greater than 2MB from mongodb to cosmosDB

I'm planning to migrate all collections from MongoDB to Azure cosmosDB. Since the maximum size of document in MongoDB is 16MB.
I have lot of documents whose size is greater than 2MB. But in cosmosDB, maximum document size is 2MB. So, while migrating from mongo to cosmos I'm facing storage size issues.
Is it possible to migrate the large documents ? If so..Can any one please suggest me the steps to migrate the large documents from mongo to cosmos.
You will need to shred the documents into smaller sizes to store in Cosmos DB, then use a query to reassemble in your application which will require some rewriting.

Mongo 3.2. Document max size 16Mb - is this value for compressed (snappy) document or not?

I wonder how mongo checks this limit.
If I use WiredTiger and snappy compression, does it mean that I can put more data inside document until it reached 16Mb. Or Mongo calculates size of document in uncompressed state?
MongoDB enforces the 16MB limit even before passing the document to the storage engine, so no, you cannot use the compression to squeeze more data into the document.

Maximum storage amount for document that has embedded documents

I understand that in MongoDB a BSON document can be no bigger than 16mb. Does this size limit account for embedded documents as well? I plan on having well over 16mb of documents inside the embedding document.
A single MongoDB document cannot be larger than 16 MB and all of a document's embedded documents count toward this limit, so what you're planning won't work.

Now everything was working fine until I hit a above error

Can any pin point how to get rid of errors.

You have hit the maximum limit of a single document in MongoDB.
If you save large data files in MongoDB, use GridFs instead.
If your document has too many subdocuments, consider splitting it and use relations instead of nesting.
The limit of 16MB data per document is a very well known limitation.
Use GridFS for storing arbitrary binary data of arbitrary size + metadata.

What is the maximum number of documents that can be stored in a MongoDB collection?

I have not been able to locate the answer using Google search. I know that there is a default limit of 16k or so collections in a DB but what is the limit on number of documents that can be stored in a collection?
There's no hardcoded limit.
You're likely to have problems with your RAM and/or disk well before you hit this (non-existent) limit.
You can also increase namespace size and get more collections (but you probably know this already).
