Facebook API 'Events Popular In Your Network' - facebook

I am trying to utilise the Facebook Graph API to access the section 'Events Popular In Your Network'. However, I cannot seem to find an endpoint that gives access to these. Is there a possible way to get hold of this information? The section is accessed by clicking 'Events' and scrolling down.

Unfortunately no, there is not an specific endpoint for that.
If you want, you might be able to build something similar using events (events docs). Getting friends events, checking attendees (attending endpoint) and ranking them (popular in this case means more friends attending to the event).
I hope it helps.

Get list of events user is attending on Facebook

I'm trying to get list of events my friend / user attends. This info is publicly visible through Facebook pages.
I'm making a request to /userid/events but it returns empty array of results, though user does have upcoming events and calling /me/events is working. (all is ran in graph explorer)
I couldn't find any documentation about any limitations or required permissions to explain why it's not working e.g. this link
Is it a bug? How to workaround it?
You can use /userid/events with a user who auzhorized your App, but using /me/events is recommended. Either way, just because stuff is public on facebook.com does not mean you can get it with the API. You always need to authorize users before you can get any data, for privacy reasons.
In other words: It´s not a bug, there is no workaround, it´s not possible without user authorization.

Facebook Graph api users search

I'm using Facebook graph Api to search users and data that i get is kinda different from that i get from Facebook UI. For example search response of User interface is friends, mutual friends and other related data in first. How can i query to get related data for current user ( i.e friends and mutual friends in first place).
Here is query that i'm using to search users.
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.5/search?fields=id,name,picture.type(normal)&limit=50&q={q}&type=user&access_token={token}
and data that i get is kinda different from that i get from Facebook UI
That’s because those are two completely different things.
The search functionality offered via the UI is called Graph Search. But the powerful possibilities that offers are not exposed via API. (To protect user privacy, and keep apps from doing extended user profiling via that data.)
Searching via API is limited to what is listed here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/using-graph-api/#search
That’s not much – but it’s all you get.

Graph API vs own app home feed

I'm trying to fetch the endpoint /me/home from the Facebook graph API v2.1.
Using the Graph API Explorer tool, I get good results that look like what the facebook mobile app displays. But when I switch to my app and simulate the exact same call with the exact same permissions, the results are different and include a lot of non relevant posts (such as "ARandomFriend liked a link").
The only difference beetween the two calls is the access token (same scope, same permissions, same user). My guess is that facebook voluntarily returns a less relevant feed to third party apps so that people can't build apps that can compete with them.
But maybe I'm wrong, does anyone know something about this ?
This is similar to
Some posts not visible on the feed through Graph API /me/home
and
Facebook SDK for .NET and Graph API Explorer news feed mismatch
The reason is Facebook "scores" nodes to derive the most "Top Story". Low scoring nodes are by default not visible. You can force all nodes with
/me/home.filter(owner)<some_filters like fields requests>
There is no documentation on WHY this actually works, but it does. You can also force all nodes that are Likes or Comments by doing the following
me/posts?fields=likes.filter(stream),comments.filter(stream)

Using the Facebook Graph API why is it possible to read a list of videos posted to an event but not a list of photos?

As far as I can make out from reading the Facebook Graph API documentation for Events -
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/event/
...it is possible to get a list (array) of videos that have been added to an event but NOT a list of photos. Why am I not able to get photos belonging to an event? Am I missing something here?
thanks
It's because the current implementation of the Graph API does not have the connection from Page Event to photos. The only "image" connection is the picture connection. This is probably because they haven't got around to expanding their API to handle all cases. The videoes connection is definitely out of the ordinary. It may have been placed in there early on in the development of the Graph API to hand one specific facebook partner's needs.
I can get a list of Photos by issuing a /{eventid}/photos request for an event that was created by my app, some event graph api calls are dependent on the fact that your app created the event. i.e. you can't edit an event that wasn't created with your app. I think for the photos request, you need read_stream, user_events, and maybe friend_events permission..

Access user's event invitations

I am developing an application which would allow a user to better manage their events. However, after reading Facebook's Graph API, FQL and Legacy REST API documentations I did not find a way to obtain the events to which a user has been invited but not yet responded.
Is there any possible way to achieve that?
For some reason this is not covered in the Facebook API docs, but doing a query on the /me/events/not_replied graph path does the trick.
/me/events/{declined|maybe|attending} also work as filters on the /me/events path and pretty much explain themselves. Interestingly enough those three are included in the default /me/events but the events from /me/events/not_replied are not.
