I am trying to run a simple Restful web service example on oracle weblogic server . but i am getting this issue while run the project on server. Publishing to Oracle Weblogic server at localhost has encountered a problem.Runtime exception occurred in publish task 'SplitsrcTargetPreparation'.
Have a look on screen sort. What i have to do ?
None of the other answers solved my problem, but I finally found a solution. I'm not claiming that this is the best or only way of resolving this issue, but it worked for me. Hope it helps others.
Open the Properties of your WebLogic server instance in Eclipse. Select Publishing. Set the publishing mode to "Publish as an exploded archive". You will no longer get a split source error.
Check the following.
Maven version – If you have imported as a maven project then make
sure that maven version is compatible to the java version you are
using.
Makes sure that you are using the java from the Middleware
which is comes bundled with weblogic.
New domain – Corrupt domain
may also cause this. Create a new domain

I work with a Spring 4 project on Eclipse and IBM Liberty as Application server. Well, every minimal JSP edit I have to restart the whole server and it take almost 3 minutes.
Application is an EAR container with seven web projects (only one is spring) and others java libraries
Auto deploy is configured, indeed all java class editing is immediatly deployed.
anyone know as extending auto deploing to jsp?
It would be helpful if you mentioned which Liberty features you have enabled on your server. Regardless, I think I know the answer. You most likely have either javaee-7.0 or at least cdi-1.2 enabled...or some other feature that requires cdi-1.2.
The issue you are describing sounds a lot like the issue fixed in APAR PI58316:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1PI58316
During a JSP request, your Spring jar(s) are likely causing the JSP request processing to invoke the cdi-1.2 code which had this problem. This resulted in changes to a JSP file to not show up on a new request...the server had to be restarted. You would not see this issue with a very simple JSP project that did not contain Spring or other code that would have a dependency on CDI. Also, this issue is specific to a JSP request, which is why you see your other Java class editing being reloaded without any issue.
This issue is now fixed with APAR PI58316 which is included in WebSphere Liberty fixpack 16.0.0.2. I would recommend that you upgrade to that level to see if your issue is resolved.
Yeah! I found this is a bug of WebSphere Liberty 8 version.
On Liberty new version (16) there is a fix.
See this link http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1PI58316
Here another topic of this problem Websphere liberty profile jsp changes are not reflected using Spring data jpa library
I have come across an error when trying to deploy a webmodule to a tomcat server in Eclipse Luna. The error message is not very helpful. And i would like some help in tracking down the cause. The error i get is
Could not publish to the server.
org.eclipse.wst.common.componentcore.internal.flat.flatfile cannot be cast to org.eclipse.wst.common.componentcore.internal.flat.IFlatFolder.
Any suggestions on how to interpret the message would be nice. I have tried in various ways to edit the web deployment assembly.
The only other thread covering this issue is this one, that did not get an answer
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/m/1065433/?srch=flatfile+cannot+be+cast#msg_1065433
It's possible your workspace may have been corrupted. I tried a number of approaches; different server runtimes, different version of Eclipse. I couldn't get past this until I created a new workspace, loaded my projects into it and set up a new server runtime.
I am new to Java EE and am trying to learn the same using tutorials and examples online.
I am trying to follow http://www.vogella.com/articles/REST/article.html#first and create a RESTful service using Jersey.
Since this is my first RESTful service, I have basically copy-pasted whatever code is present till http://www.vogella.com/articles/REST/article.html#first_run.
However, when I try to run the service, I am getting an error:
Could not load the Tomcat server configuration at /Servers/Tomcat v7.0 Server at localhost-config. The Servers project is closed.
When I tried looking into the server configuration, I see that the configuration path is showing an error for the value: /Servers/Tomcat v7.0 Server at localhost-config.
When I try to change any (server) configuration and save it, I get the message: "Error while saving. Resource '/Servers' is not open."
Five differences between my project and what is described in the page:
I am using JDK 1.7, while the page mentions JDK1.6.
I am using Apache Tomcat Server 7.0, while the page mentions Tomcat version 6.0.
The Dynamic web module version is set to 3.0 in my project, while it is 2.5 in the page.
I have a couple of practise spring apps configured on my tomcat server. I am not sure how to remove them. :(
I have updated my web.xml to use web-app_3_1.xsd in the place of web-app_2_5.xsd.
I am not able to understand why this is happening.
If this does not seem to be solvable, I would be thankful, if you can point me to any resource that explains creating a RESTFul service using Jersey using Java EE7, Apache Tomcat 7 and, preferably, Eclipse.
The solution turned out to be simple. When I looked at the Project Explorer, I saw that there was a project called "Servers". Once I "opened" this project, the problem got resolved.
Seems like marking all projects and selecting "Close Project" has a side effect in Java EE Perspective. :)
I have a Java project which uses Struts and Hibernate. I am using PostgreSQL as the database for the project.
I have imported the .jws file in JDeveloper. All the java and jsp files are imported to the project.
When I tried to run the project multiple errors came out. I think it's due to a database connection failure.
Do I need to configure pgsql with the project?
Thanks in advance.
You have to provide more info on what the errors are.
But some common problem in JDeveloper when using the bundled server to test is that (if you are using datasources) you have to place the driver jars in the server lib folder or declare it as a Library by going to Tools->Manage Libraries.
If you post what errors are you receiving and how are you connecting to the database we might be able to help you a little more.
You'll need to add the postgreSQL jdbc jar files to your project and to the embedded WebLogic instance.
Tell us the specific error you are getting and we'll help you more.
I just started learning portlet and got stuck in the first place. I have installed JavaEE 6 SDK, Eclipse Helios and GlassFish Server 3.0.1. I also successfully configured OpenPortal Portlet Container (OPC) for GlassFish by running command:
java -jar portlet-container-configurator.jar
The problem come up when I wanted to create a new server runtime environment of OPC, there was no "OpenPortal Portlet Container 2.x" node like the tutorial said. I googled and found that I needed to install Eclipse Portal Pack but the link was dead.
Any suggestion, please?
Best Regard.
If you want to develop portlets, I strongly recommend downloading Apache Pluto instead of using the open portlet container; you can download a version of Tomcat bundled with Pluto from their site: http://portals.apache.org/pluto
Actually, Pluto has a few quirks that you need to get past (for example, it wants you to run an 'assembly' step to add some entries to your web.xml) but once you do it is probably the best way. You could also try Liferay or JBoss' GateIn for development, but if you are ultimately targeting a vendor supplied platform like WebSphere, you might find that these actually have features that aren't as portable, whereas Pluto is really just a simple implementation of the portlet spec.
I have found the .jar file on Internet. Thanks for watching.
