I installed Yii2 advanced application on my local server and it works fine, without configured .htaccess. But on the server it doesn't work, even with /frontend/web/index.php url.
Check out the php version of your hosted server, It Require PHP 5.5 version.

(I am very new to deploying in a dedicated server.)
I have access to Windows Server 2012 through as Remote Login.
I have to deploy my html, js files to the server and then access my html page through a URL.
I am not sure where should I keep my files in the server, launch the server and then access my page through a URL.
In my local server in my machine, I kept the files in
C:\inetpub\wwwroot
And I gave access to others to my page through :
http://myIPaddress/mypage.html
Please suggest where should I keep my code and how can I launch the server.
If anyone can point me to a documentation, even that would be great.

We need to enable IIS first before deploying our files in Windows Server 2012.

We are building a project and will be using gwt 2.7 with rest ( spring) and weblogic server.
The problem which we face is that I want to run the gwt module on superdev mode (which runs on 8888 port by default) but the rest is deployed on 7001 port on weblogic server.
I cannot call the rest services from superdev mode as it gives a cross site scripting error.
How can get my super dev mode running so that I can test and develop UI and connect to rest services on different port.
I know there has been topic on use a different server for dev mode. But i don't see any examples.
Can some please suggest wat needs to be done. Even if it requires changing the project structure to get the dev mode working with rest.
This is a common problem for web-development. It can be solved by using:
CORS (at the REST server)
Using a proxy servlet (I use this approach, but with a handwritten servlet)
Disable the browser security (I would not do this)

I have bought a VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) that Windows Server 2008 is installed on it. I needed to use server because I have developed a C# console application that can read data by TCP socket and write them in the MySQL database.
Now I need to start a website on this server. I think WAMP server is so easy for me.
Maybe in future a lot of people visit my website.
Is it a good idea to use WAMP server as a web server?
In principal there is nothing wrong with using WAMPServer as a LIVE webserver.
However, not the out of the box version.
Out of the box WAMPServer and XAMPP for that matter expect to be used as a single seat developer tool and while that is great for a click and go solution to get a developer up and running on Apache/MySQL and PHP in a few minutes it is not secure enough to be considered as a LIVE web facing webserver.
Now if you have the knowledge and experience to create an user account on Windows Server that has access to only what Apache needs to do its work, and can get Apache to run in that account instead of its default account (which has way to many privilages for a live server) and are prepared to explore all the Apache security features/modules that would be required for a web facing server then it is possible. However this is not a trivial task, and any mistakes or ommissions will leave your server open to the simplest of hacks.
In short, unless you really know what you are doing with Windows Server and Apache, you would be far better to pay for a professionally configured and managed web server environment.
We're developping an MVC .Net website supposed to run on linux.
It worked fine with mod_mono but we're forbidden to actually use mod_mono on the production server for performance matters. Also, we use mono-fastcgi-server2 and mod_fcgid.
So when disabling mod_mono, the home page still works fine but any request like /controller/action ends up with a 404 error.
I wonder if we can even run our MVC .Net website without the mod_mono ?

mod-mono is the Mono project's ASP.NET module for Apache. Without it, there's nothing in Apache to interpret any ASP.NET content. So, by extension, if you're not allowed to run mod-mono on your Apache server then you're not allowed to run ASP.NET on your Apache server.
While there are some similar posts about this issue, none seem to fit my problem exactly, so I would like to ask if anyone knows what I am doing wrong.
I am trying to run a PHP web application that I created in Netbeans. I am using Glassfish 3.1.1 as the web server. Whenever I run the application through Netbeans (by selecting the project, right clicking to get the context menu, then selecting "Run"), my browser opens to what I believe to be the correct url, but all I get is a 404 error page stating the following:

description:The requested resource () is not available.
Am I missing some crucial configuration step?
I have checked my hosts file and it contains the entry:
127.0.0.1 localhost
Is there something else I need to do?
I have PHP 5.3.8 installed and all php commands run from the command line.
Would it be something in the php.ini file that needs to be configured?
I am stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just install Quercus within GlassFish 3.x and you can run PHP and Java.
As I stated in the comments, GlassFish and Apache Tomcat are Java application servers. In order to serve PHP pages you'll need to install a web server such as Apache HTTP web server. You'll also need to configure Apache to serve PHP files.
Something that you might look into is WAMP (Windows/Apache/MySql/PHP). This offers a simple way to get up and running quickly with little to no configuration.
