I'm Using Crystal Reports 14.1. I'm creating a report that has 3 Groups. First group is agency of the company and need separate page per agency. One agency can have more than one building, so second group is building so i need separate page here too. One building can have more than one type of employees, so i need also separate page here. What troubles me is that every group have summaries at the end, which must be on the same page. Sum per agency, per building, per type of Employee. The problem is that if one agency has one building and one type of employee, i need to show those 3 summaries at the same page.
Any ideas how to do this?
in section expert next to New page after click the button labeled X-2.
From there play around with a formula like.
if count({fieldtocount},(summarygroup} > 1
so that if the group only has one record it will not page break.

I am working on developing an SSRS report.I have a table in which student name and 6 subjects marks is stored in each row. My problem statement goes like this ---> lets say if 10 rows of data is present in table then I want to create report card/ marksheet for each student in new page but inside a same report. (I.e. 10 pages in one report). Then convert the report containing 10 pages to PDF format and save it in some folder.
Can anyone show some possibilities to achieve my problem statement.
Thanks in advance....
Usually you'll want to use a List object to separate your report by student. You would group the list by student in your report. Then set a Page Break in the List with the location to Between each group so that it separates each student into a separate page.
Then you can put charts, tables and other object inside the list and it will repeat with the list group (in your case, each student).
MSDN: Lists
In this report I made below, the List is highlighted in Red and groups by each site. It just has a table inside. When it's run each site gets it's own page with a list of their people.
Keep in mind that a List is actually just a Tablix with only one data cell - with the column and row headers removed.
I have a report with the following structure:
PAGE HEADER
DETAIL BAND (12 of those)
SUMMARY BAND
The detail bands show depending on expressions I specified. Also, the content of the detail bands are subReports, one per detail band (don't know if that is relevant or not here).
What I'm trying to achieve is to execute the report without any filter as the ID or any other field of the table. Instead, I want to extract the information of all the registers of one specific table (let's name the table USER).
What I'm expecting to find when I execute the report is something like the following:
PAGE HEADER
detail sections (shown depending on the expressions )
SUMMARY
What I'm getting looks similar to the following:
PAGE HEADER
DETAIL 1 (for user1)
DETAIL 2 (for user1)
DETAIL 1 (for user2)
DETAIL 4 (for user3)
and never the summary band (just at the end of the report)
As you can see, all the users are getting mixed while what I want to do is to start a new page for each one of them.
QUESTIONS:
How can I get the report to show each one of the users from the table
in separate pages?
Is there some property I missed that allows me to
do that?
Thanks!
I think I found a way to solve this challenge. I just made a group (Group1) based on the ID's of the users and put the content of my Page Header inside the Group Header just created. Did the same with the Summary band, put all it contents inside the Group Footer.
Then, selecting the Group Header (or the Group Footer) I checked the Keep Together and the Start New Page checkboxs from the Appearance tab.
Furthermore, for each one of the detail bands, selected the Group1 just created for the Group Changes selection combo in the Appearance tab.
I didn't do much testing yet but it seems like it's working as I wanted it to. If I find any other (better) solution I'll update the answer. Still open to hear advices though.
In our system, it shows each charge as a record, despite the account being the same.

How would I go about doing this?
Also, is there a way to show it like this even though they are all seperate records?
Option 2
You can solve this using sub reports.
In main report take distinct record and place the fields Account and city in detail section.
Now take sub report and place it after the first 2 columns in detail section but take care that you won't select the option distinct records that means you retrieve all records. In sub report place Charge type, charge fields
I am facing formatting problem in generating SSRS report. I am having two groups in my report, one group is on list and other on tablix.
The first group with list contains only a textbox which display say AccountNo, while the other group has the entire table which displays the account details (AcctNo, AcctName, Type etc.).
I want to merge this two groups together, such that on each page I can see the both the groups, i.e., textbox the one with AcctNo and other with the table with acct details.
I am getting the first group on different page followed by the other group.
Can anyone suggests me how to merge these two group together on one page?
if possible in the table, the easiest way would be to create a parent group for the two groups, so both groups would have the same parent group
I'm using Crystal Reports 10 right now and I have my report almost finished. I have a group of customers and for each customer, I have multiple lines of customer information. The one thing I'm still trying to figure out though is how can I get a running total of one column's distinct values.
So, for example I have a customer Bob who has 6 different items. For each item, there is a manufacturer. It might be the same for all 6 items, it might be one for 3 of them and another for the other 3, or they might all be different. What I want is to have a field at the bottom of the group for Bob that would say:
Man1 - 3
Man2 - 1
Man3 - 2
with the manufacturer being on the left side and the number of items they make for that customer on the right side.
Is there anything in Crystal Reports that can do this right now? Or can someone give me some advice on where I would get started on a formula to do this? Thanks for any help you guys can give.
Need more information:
What kind of data structure are we talking about? How are the manufacturer and item data found? How are these related to the customer? How many manufacturers/items are typically found per customer?
If the manufacturer and items are two different fields, that might be simple (cross tab in customer group). If they are free form, that might be a problem. If there are separate fields for every manufacturer (I've see it happen), then that might be a problem.
Best scenario:
One field for manufacturer, one field for item, distinct relation to customer.
Possible solution:
Group by customer, sub-group by manufacturer, count of items.
Not best scenario:
Table for customer, separate table for each manufacturer.
Possible solution:
Main report, group by customer. Linked subreport on Manufacturer/items.
Worst scenario:
Free-text entry of manufacturer and items in a memo field.
Possible solution:
Redesign your database (grin).
If you have to, you can do this using logic tests through formulas, but if you have many manufacturers/items, it would get exhaustive.
Best answer: More information.
