To file a bug report I found only how to do it from the app;)
Visual Studio Code has been tested on the following platforms.
Ubuntu Desktop 14.04
OS X Yosemite
Windows 8.0, 8.1 and 10 (x86 and x64)
Official info in the website (https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/requirements)
Google knows everything, and I found what's going on here: Microsoft desktop library docs.
This method RegisterTouchWindow is supported from Windows 8. Kind of expected.
Visual Studio Code download page states support for Vista;) I didn't use Microsoft Products (except OS) for some time, though shall be surprised:)

I'm experiencing below error in my Wondows 10 PC during flutter installation.
I'm attaching pictures as well. I retried removal and reinstallation below versions as well as version 11 SDK.
Windows 10 SDK (10.0.20348.0)
Windows 10 SDK (10.0.19041.0)
Windows 10 SDK (10.0.18362.0)
ERROR
"! Unable to locate a Windows 10 SDK. If building fails, install the Windows 10 SDK in Visual Studio."
As I'm using office PC I can not reinstall windows in any way. Can anyone suggest me solution please?
I tried reinstallation as well as tried some forum solutions. Nothing worked for me!
I had the same issue and resolved it by installing Visual Studio Build Tools.
The Flutter documentation at https://docs.flutter.dev/get-started/install/windows#windows-setup advises to install either Visual Studio or Visual Studio Build Tools. Be sure to include the "Desktop development with C++" component when installing (you'll see it as an option during the installation process).
**Good day!
I am an IT student that is currently working on my Android app project and my laptop frequently notify me whenever I open to upgrade to Windows 10, (I am a genuine Windows 8.1 user installe on my Dell Vostro 5460).
Now, my question, is Android Studio and Eclipse ADT compatible with Windows 10? It is because I want the Windows 10 experience, but I have doubt that it will not be compatible with Android Studio and Eclipse ADT. Please help me with my question. Thanks you very much.**
Android Studio had I installed on the Windows 10 Technical Preview and it works. I could it open and develop a new Project.(I don't know what happend with a old project, but i think it must be work also.)
For a Tutorial how you install Ecplise i found this:
https://salesforce.stackexchange.com/questions/55390/how-do-i-install-eclipse-and-java-sdk-into-windows-10
Is it this what you mean?
I should install VS Android Emulator but I can't. Because VS Android Emulator doesn't show in installer. I use Macbook Pro that installed Windows 10 Education and it support VT. Also I has installed Hyper-V and I can start virtual machine. I has tried for VS 2015 Community and Enterprise but it hasn't emulator. What can I do to install VS Android Emulator and What is system requirements?
Edit:
I upgrade Windows to Enterprise edition and Android Emulator is working. I think Windows 10 Education Edition is not fine for Hyper-V.
The VS Emulator for Android requires Hyper-V, which is only available in certain versions of Windows 10. Windows 10 Home and Education editions do not have Hyper-V, so you'll need Windows 10 Pro or greater to use the emulator.
Try installing the emulator by itself from this link:
https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/features/msft-android-emulator-vs.aspx
The VS Emulator for Android does not work on Windows 10 (for me).
My advice is do not worry because there are much better options. I use Genemotion & VirtualBox with Hyper-V disabled and it is great. Also, the Google Android emulator with HAXM is great.
Google emulators include two versions (with and without Google APIs). And I've been able to successfully install Google Play services in Genemotion on 4.4.4 hosts.
Therefore, either the Google or Genemotion options are extremely more useful than Microsoft's VS Emulator for Android on Hyper-V (even if it worked on Windows 10).
I know that Visual Studio Pro will allow you to compile mex files for MATLAB 2014b.
However I was wondering if anyone was able to use Visual Studio Express (which is free, as opposed to Pro which is not) to compile mex files? I tried the Windows SDK (recommended by mathworks), with no success.
Update: This is the error I get:
A problem occurred while installing selected Windows SDK components. Installation of the "Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7" product has reported the following error: Please refer to Samples\Setup\HTML\ConfigDetails.htm
Only I can't find that file.
Details:
Windows 7
MATLAB 2014b
Things I Did So Far:
SDK 7.1, I tried installing this not sure if it did not install correctly or was not actually a solution (from here: http://www.mathworks.com/support/compilers/R2014b/index.html)
Download the 30 day trial of Visual Studio Pro which is working
Yes. I used to use that exact combination if I recall. Make sure you get the right version of it though. Share the actual problem and maybe we can work around it.
This is another common issue with the Windows SDK 7.1 where it won't install if you have a newer Visual Studio 2010 runtime than version 10.0.30319, which is what it tries to install (you would think they would update the SDK installer!). You have to remove them before installing the SDK:
MsiExec.exe /passive /X{F0C3E5D1-1ADE-321E-8167-68EF0DE699A5}
MsiExec.exe /passive /X{1D8E6291-B0D5-35EC-8441-6616F567A0F7}
Then the SDK will install and you can reinstall the latest 2010 runtimes.
There is an identical issue with the old DirectX SDK (June 2010) and the solution is much the same.
My boss just asked me about Windows 8. He wants to get me a new laptop. And is still confused about the os.
Can VS2010 be installed on windows 8? because VS2012 can be installed in windows 7.
How about like eclipse java android? Can they run in windows 8?
the visual studio 2012 is more recommended in windows 8 in order to install certain sdk's like windows phone 8 sdk .. so it should work even more smooth in windows 8
eclipse and java also work fine ... most of the application that works with win 7 will work with win 8 without a problem i didn't find any issue tell now only some drive that wasn't installed correctly and the windows search for the drive for me and install it from the device manager .. the only issue that i can't solve it tell now the 2 finger scrolling.
According to Microsoft website, VS 2012 is compatible with Windows 8 :
http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/11/en-us/products/compatibility
I read some returns about Eclipse, that's not possible (or not basically possible) to run it on Windows 8 right now, but I guess it will be soon, when Windows 8 will be released...
Windows 8 is just another OS by MICROSOFT where they have changed the architecture of the Operating System. All those software that were compatible on previous version on Windows will be working fine in windows 8. Windows 8 has apps as the new thing in it.
It does not matter you buy a laptop with or without windows 8. its an operating system which you can install on any machine provided it has the basic requirements of windows 8.
I just installed windows 8, visual studio 2012, eclipse, java and everything works fine
you can use either VS 2012 or VS 2010 in Windows 8. VS 2012 is compatible only in Windows8.
A touch screen is not a must to use Windows 8 but it is recommended for the best user experience.
