I had several friend requests in facebook from profiles whose links end with "?fref=jewel". All the links had this ending term in the url. Some of the profiles were probably fake. Can anyone tell me what "?fref=jewel" means?
It simply means that the user clicked on a notification in the notification “jewel” (that’s what FB call the thingie in the top navigation bar, where notifications are shown) to get to that address …
It is just a tracking parameter.
Facebook calls these icons "jewels" internally.
I suspect you clicked through to this request from a request you saw in the dropdown there?

I receive a lot of them, and no request from friends of friends comes with the "jewel" add. 90% of them are from girls offering sexy pictures, from guys offering sex, or african "bankers" informing that a remote cousin had an accident and there's a lot of money to get. And the other 10%, I don't bother verifying.
Yes, Mostly it means that the ip adress of same acoount carrying same person . there is most possibility of fake a/c.
None of the answers are correct. We ran a test with someone I know to be a real account. Her friend request had the word "Jewel" at the end of the URL. So the correct answer is that all friend requests put the word Jewel in the URL.Friend request from someone I know is a real account

I've been tormented for a few months by this question!
I don't understand how Facebook pixel works deeply (and I assume only FB devs Know) but I have a few questions, if anyone can help me:
1- I launch a conversion campaign on Facebook ads, a specific ad gets a click, and a unique "fbclid" gets attributed to that click (?); if a conversion happens, and I send back the fbclid, Isn't Facebook supposed to be able to attribute it to the specific ad that generated that click, thus that fbclid? I thought that was the whole point of having a Server-to-server solution? since Apple announced iOS updates blocking cookies?
I come from an affiliate marketing background, we use tools like "Everflow" to track affiliate links, with a "transaction_id", that is, a unique value generated on every outgoing click. I thought the same logic would apply to fbclid.
Why are we asked to pass back to Facebook so much data when a conversion happens, like a name, email, etc... to be able to attribute the conversion to a campaign
( AND EVEN SO! Our Tracking is only 80% Accurate!!)
2- Can anyone explain how Facebook pixel actually works ? ignoring the Server to server (Conversion API ) solution, how does the Facebook base code + the conversion event script work to be able to attribute a conversion to a specific campaign? does it store the fbclid in your cookies? and when a conversion happens execute a request to Facebook?
3- AM I talking about 2 Different things here: FB attribution to campaigns VS Event matching? are they the same concept? Why is this so confusing to me? I couldn't find someone that's asking the same question, is it because I am missing something very obvious?
Thank you in advance!!
I'm doing facebook integration.

Thank you in advance for your help.
Ok, so the most likely reason you receive an Error code: 1383133 is if the game that opens the payment dialog doesn't have payout information, a name or a company associated with it.
Look at your Unity game's app ID and check for company names, company association etc and fill in that information. The error should disappear once you've filled everything in.
good morning!
Since last week my website URL - www.musiconline.xpg.com.br - and others sites from www.xpg.com.br , is/are with the LIKE BUTTON blocked.
I need the solution for this problem Urgently, because I'm NOT a Spammer!!!
My Fan Page is with a problem too: http://www.facebook.com/musicasonline
I'm trying to talk with Facebook in Forum and Support, but I still have no answer until now.
Thanks a lot for all!
I finally got my URL back. Facebook blocked use of our URL for years, yes years. For some reason no one would include our website URL (a-fib.com) in any post, or even on our own FB page. They'd get an error message saying our site had been flagged as spammy. This had been going on for years! FB has zero customer service.
Here's what worked. After trying everything else over the course of three years, we finally resorted to writing a pleading letter on our letterhead, asking why would anyone block a non-profit trying to help heart patients? We sent it 'registered mail' to FB headquarters. (Advice I found among other ideas online from those with a similar problem.) It worked. Praise the lord!
Facebook does not care if you personally are a spammer or not – it just blocks the whole domain, in this case most likely xpg.com.br.
This is a risk you’re always taking when using a shared domain. To avoid it, the best way is to get your own domain – then it’s you and only you who’s responsible – whereas now, if one of the users on this domain does not behave, all other users of the same domain will get punished as well.
Is it possible to figure out reliably what the Facebook email of any Facebook user would be? I know earlier this was not possible because not all users had a username. But I believe that has changed since...
I'm trying to figure out a way to let a user send a direct message to their friend through my app. The Request feature is pretty messed up now as you cannot send a custom message, which means most friends are probably going to ignore the request.
The type of messages that I am trying to let my users send to their friends would not be considered spam by Facebook, as these are messages sent directly from the user to their friend, except it is done through the app. But it's pointless if the message just says "Joe wants you to try this app..." The usefulness of an app on the Facebook platform is becoming questionable now.
I think that facebook terms and conditions disallow this...
Facebook messaging (i.e., email sent to an #facebook.com address) is designed for communication between users, and not a channel for applications to communicate directly with users."
Despite your caveat at the end of your post I believe that facebook would consider this a message from your app to the user.
In terms of your question, then the user data returned includes 'username' which is the information you need to create the email address.
Is it possible to figure out reliably what the Facebook email of any Facebook user would be? I know earlier this was not possible because not all users had a username. But I believe that has changed since...
Yes, now every user should have a username set – if not by themselves, than FB will have chosen one for them.
Besides that, I think writing to userid#facebook also works.
But I agree with combinatorial’s answer – Facebook explicitly says that this should not be used for app-to-user communication. To judge if your case is OK is up to you – otherwise you might consider using the send dialog instead, that’s more of the “designated” way to have users communicate “through” your app.
If what you are looking for is to give them a new message notification, it is not going to work. Because, if you send an email to the facebook email, it will land in the Others folder in the message box, which is like a spam box.Try mailing your own #facebook id and see what happens.
And Facebook doesnt give any documentation of how to get users #facebook email, most probably because they dont want developers to use it.
Why dont you mail them directly? You can easily get their email by adding email to the scope, and you can catch the email easily too.
$data = file_get_contents("https://graph.facebook.com/me?access_token=xxxxxx");
$data = json_decode($data,true);
$email = $data['email'];
Is that a viable option in your case?
I've used 'Are You Interested', a Facebook APP and when something on that app happens (such as a user sends me a message in that app) then I will see (to the left under APPS) a numeric value representing the number of new events that have happened on 'Are You Interested' since I last looked.
I want to do the same thing with my App, as it's also a niche dating site. I'd like to notify users when someone sends them a message or views their profile. I was told that I should search for app requests. However the code samples that I see seem to be slightly different than what I want to accomplish.
The information I am finding seems as though it is intended for me to allow my users to request things from their friends. That's completely different than what I want to do. There's no need for them to request anything from friends.
When I tried sending one to my test account, just to see what happens..it incremented the numeric value to the left under APPS by 1, which is a good thing, but the text was so generic, it was something like, "So and so is requesting something in [sitename]", but I don't want it to say that and I didn't see anywhere to change this text....furthermore, it added a 'Notification' to the very top of Facebook with the same generic request message. Again, that's not what I'm looking for. When I receive these APP Alerts for other apps, they don't add a 'Notification' up top of Facebook, and I don't want to either. I do believe that the code snippets I found under 'Requests' is something different than what I'm looking to achieve.
Just to summarize: I have a dating app, and people can send messages to eachother. I want an APP Alert (as I'm referring to it) to be seen to the left under Apps and also to the right in the bookmarks area, but I want the message to not be so generic and I don't want users to be selecting friends to request something. I want this action to come from my server and sent to the user that will be receiving the alert. I also do not want a facebook 'Notification' up top each time they receive a message. I hope I'm being clear in what I'm trying to accomplish. Thanks in advance for any guidance. -Chris
