How to load a properties file into JBOSS 7 in domain mode - jboss

We did our early development in standalone mode where a property file could be included on the command line.
Now we are working on deployment and the server will be in domain mode, but the handy command line property doesn't do the trick any more.
I see that properties can be loaded with jboss-cli or placed in domain.xml, but those both have different forms than a standard properties file. I don't want to change the file because other programs use the same file.
Am I overlooking something?

Perl search for string and get the full line from text file

I want to search for a string and get the full line from a text file through Perl scripting.
So the text file will be like the following.
data-key-1,col-1.1,col-1.2
data-key-2,col-2.1,col-2.2
data-key-3,col-3.1,col-3.2
Here I want to apply data-key-1 as the search string and get the full line into a Perl variable.
Here I want the exact replacement of grep "data-key-1" data.csv in the shell.
Some syntax like the following worked while running in the console.
perl -wln -e 'print if /\bAPPLE\b/' your_file
But how can I place it in a script? With the perl keyword we can't put it into a script. Is there a way to avoid the loops?
If you'd know the command line options you are giving for your one-liner, you'd know exactly what to write inside your perl script. When you read a file, you need a loop. Choice of loop can yield different results performance wise. Using for loop to read a while is more expensive than using a while loop to read a file.
Your one-liner:
perl -wln -e 'print if /\bAPPLE\b/' your_file
is basically saying:
-w : Use warnings
-l : Chomp the newline character from each line before processing and place it back during printing.
-n : Create an implicit while(<>) { ... } loop to perform an action on each line
-e : Tell perl interpreter to execute the code that follows it.
print if /\bAPPLE\b/ to print entire line if line contains the word APPLE.
So to use the above inside a perl script, you'd do:

How to read a file which is gzipped and tar in perl

I have placed the text file "FilenameKeyword.txt" file in E:/Test folder, in my perl script i am trying to traverse through the folder and am i am trying to find a file with filename which has the string "Keyword" in it, later i have printed the content of that file in my script.
Now i wish do the same thing for the file which is placed inside tar file which is compressed.
Hypothetical File from where i am trying to extract the details:
E:\test.tar.gz
Wanted to know if there are possibility in perl to search and read the file without decompressing /unzipping the hypothetical file.If that is not possible, I shall also allocate some temperory memory to decompress the file , which should deleted after extracting the content from the particular text file.
While Searching in the internet i could it is possible to extract and read the gzip/tar file by using Archive::Extract, being new to Perl - i am really confused on how actually i should make use of it. Could you please help on this....

I was stuck in using CPAN module, CPAN module didn't work for me as i have oracle 10g enterprise edition in the same machine, due do some software conflict Active state perl was unable compile and refer to the perl lib for CPAN module, i have uninstalled oracle in my machine to make this work....

If your file was gzipped only, you could read its contents in a "streamed" manner as outlined here (Piping to/from a child process without system or backtick - gzipped tar files). The article illustrates a technique to use open and a fork to open and decompress the file, and then making it available to Perl's while(), allowing you to iterate over it.
As tar is basically concatenating things, it might be possible to adapt this to your scenario.

Perl directories - how to locate a file

I am trying to read this text file thats located in uploads folder. But not sure what the correct path would be. Ive tried alot of different cominations.
The text file is in this folder

The cgi script is in this folder

Take it one step at a time. You have a lot planned, but so far you haven't even changed your prompt string to ask for a directory.
To read the entered directory name, your:
my $perlfile =STDIN;
gives an error (under use strict;). Start by looking that error up (use diagnostics; automates this) and trying to figure out what you should be doing instead.
Once you can prompt for a directory name and print it out, then add code to open the directory and read the directory. Directories can be opened and read with opendir and readdir. Make sure you can read the directory and print out the filenames before going on to the next step.

filehandle - won't write to a file

I cannot get the script below to write to the file, data.txt, using a FILEHANDLE. Both the files are in the same folder, so that's not the issue. Since I started with Perl, I have noticed to run scripts, I have to use a full path: c:\programs\scriptname.pl and also the same method to input files. I thought that could be the issue and tried this syntax below but that didn't work either...

Here is my script. I have checked the syntax until it makes me crazy and cannot see an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!. I'm also puzzled, why the die function hasn't kicked in.

How I solved this problem solved.
I have Strawberry Perl perl.exe installed on the c: drive, installed through and using the installer with a folder also on c with my scripts in, which meant I couldn't red/write to a file (directional or using functions, ie the open one) and I always had to use full paths to launch a script. I solved this problem after a suggestion of leaving the interpreter installed where it was and moving my scripts file to the desktop (leave the OS command in the first line of the script where it is as the interpreter is still in the same place it was initially). Now I can run the scripts with one click and read/write and append to file with CMD prompt and using Perl functions with ease.
Backslashes have a special meaning in double-quoted strings. Try escaping the backslashes.
open(WRITE, ">c:\\programs\\data.txt") || die ...;
Or, as you're not interpolating variables, switch to single quotes.
open(WRITE, '>c:\programs\data.txt') || die ...;
It's also worth using the three-argument version of open and lexical filehandles.
open(my $write_fh, '>', 'c:\programs\data.txt') || die ...;
you must use "/" to ensure portability, so: open(WRITE, ">c:/programs/data.txt")
Note: I assume that c:/programs folder exists

If you have an access problem when you try to print to data.txt you can change that line to:
